We are very happy with this nursery and with the care our son is getting. He really enjoys going every day and is always happy when we drop him off, which says a lot. Since starting here, we've noticed positive changes in him and he seems more settled and confident. It's clear that the children are
well looked after and cared for properly. The environment feels safe and friendly, and the facilities and outdoor space are great. Overall, we feel comfortable leaving our child here and are pleased with the experience so far.

Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool Surbiton, Brighton Road

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
The nursery is smaller than others in the local area which means it's less chaotic and overwhelming for the children. It also means they rely on core staff rather than agency - a huge plus in my opinion. I cannot fault the staff - they are all fantastic. It's a shame that the garden has been out of
use for a year - that's not the fault of the nursery but it's not ideal. The nursery charges top up fees and so I generally have some questions regarding value for money - i.e for enrichment and hygiene charges - but the fees are set by head office, not the branch - and I believe that's a general issue across all nurseries. The most important thing is the staff - and they are dedicated and caring. When the garden is up and running again this will be a great setting. Julia, the manager, seems to have turned things around too - prior to her joining they had a few managers in quick succession.
Reply from Charlie G, Nursery Support Team at Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool Surbiton, Brighton RoadThank you for your review of Dicky Birds Day Nursery and Preschool in Surbiton, Brighton Road. We are proud of our fantastic nursery team and the exceptional care they provide to our children each day. They are dedicated to ensuring each child feels happy, secure and confident in our nursery setting, supporting their growth and development through a thoughtfully designed environment and a variety of fun and educational activities. We understand that it must be frustrating that our garden is out of use but really appreciate your patience regarding this issue. We are very much looking forward to the children being able to enjoy our lovely outside space again! In addition to our nursery fees, we apply an additional charge known as Everyday Essentials which supports the provision of additional resources and enhancements that help enrich your child's nursery experience. If you have any further questions about our fees please don't hesitate to contact us on 0800 028 4500.

My daughter and I love the dicky birds nursery Brighton Road.
We are due to move house and I'm so sad she will be leaving here.
She smiles at all the staff on arrival and we have never had tears at drop off.
They provide great photos and I like the app that they use.
They go out and about frequently.
Do the messy play that I don't do much of at home.
They always have time to chat at drop off and pick up.
They respond quickly when I message them on email or the app.
The staff are kind and supportive for the kids and the parents
We are sad to have to leave.

I can't fault the Dickie birds teams. My little one has been going there for nearly 2 years and they have been nothing but welcoming and nurturing for both my little one and me/my partner as first time parents and all the worries that go with that.
I got made redundant half way through my little ones
stint at the nursery meaning we had to pull her put. They were so supportive and made the process extremely stress free for us and visa Versa when our little one returned.
I feel completely at ease when dropping her off at the nursery and I know she is in the most capable hands. So much so that she always talks about her teachers and key workers outside of nursery.
A big thank you to the whole team. We appreciate you very much.

Our son has settled into Daydream nursery really well. The staff are really friendly, very welcoming and provide a wide variety of activities for the children to take part in each day. It really feels like the staff show an interest in getting to know the children. The updates on the app are great so
you can keep track of what your child has been up to etc. The management team are very hands on and respond quickly when messaging on the app.

My experience with Whitwick day Nursery has been outstanding.
What a great team of staff who individually help and encourage my child to be the best he can.
He has learnt so much and has come on leaps and bounds since starting here.
The activities they set up are always fun and engaging; he loves
to get involved in anyway he can.
They have a great outdoor space where he loves to be.
Meals they provide throughout the day are great.
The communication is great too, the app definitely helps the communication, from messages of praise and pictures to updates on how he's settled in.
Overall a great nursery. I would recommend to anyone.

Although our son was ultimately unable to attend this nursery, I felt it was really important to leave a review because of how kind, understanding, and empathetic the team were towards us as a family.
From our very first contact, the staff treated us with compassion and respect. They were incredibly
patient, supportive, and genuinely caring during what was a difficult and emotional time for us. Their communication was thoughtful, reassuring, and never made us feel like an inconvenience but quite the opposite.
It's rare to come across a team who show such humanity and professionalism, even when a child doesn't end up attending. We truly cannot thank them enough for the understanding and kindness they showed us, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other families. Any child would be very lucky to be cared for by this nurseery

I was on the fence initially about sending my son to Pelham Dicky Birds as I had heard mixed reviews. After two showing round opportunities I decided to take a chance and hope for the best in October 2025 after hearing of a managerial change and nursery shake up. My son has been there now nearly 6 months
and I can honestly say it is the best decision I made. The staff are so friendly and helpful towards not only my son but also myself and his dad. My son has developed so much in such a little time since being there with the range of activities they offer. So pleased I trusted my gut and went with Dicky Birds Pelham. Will be recommending to other parents looking for a safe place to send their child.

Our Daughter has been coming to the wishing tree since the second half of last year and she absolutely loves it. She comes back tired and happy every time we pick her up. She learns so much and her development has drastically increased since starting. We have had great interactions with everyone who
works there, they are all lovely. Couldn't recommend it more.

We have had a consistently excellent experience with Dicky Birds Nursery - Claremont Road. Our daughter has been attending for several months now and, from the outset, the care and warmth shown by the team has been outstanding. She is genuinely excited to go in each morning, settles quickly, and leaves
us with a smile - which says everything.

The staff are attentive, kind, and clearly take the time to understand each child as an individual. We have seen a noticeable leap in our daughter's confidence, communication, and overall development; she comes home singing songs, trying new words, and engaging far more with the world around her.

Even though we have since moved and the nursery is no longer the most convenient option geographically, we have never once considered changing settings. Our daughter is thriving here, and that reassurance is invaluable. The environment feels safe, nurturing, and well-run, and it is clear that the team genuinely care about the children in their charge.
