Dicky Birds Pelham Road, Wimbledon, a GrandirUK Day Nursery

I honestly couldn't recommend this nursery enough. My son is 16 months old, and before starting I had some worries around his development, particularly with his crawling and talking.

Since being at the nursery, he has absolutely flourished. He has really started to find himself, become more confident and develop so much. The staff have been incredibly supportive and have really helped to encourage him at his own pace, which has been so reassuring for me as a parent.

It's such a lovely feeling knowing that he is somewhere he feels happy, comfortable and cared for, while also being encouraged to learn and develop. I've noticed such a positive difference in him since he started.

I'm so grateful to all of the staff for the care, patience and encouragement they give him. I would happily recommend this nursery to any parent looking for somewhere their little one can feel safe, supported and truly thrive.

Our second child started at Dicky Birds a couple of months ago and has settled in so quickly. It's so lovely having her happily wave me off every morning. With the nursrey being small and friendly, all the staff already know her and her older sister loves to come back and visit. We've been really happy with the Nursrey, we get daily updates with lots of photos, they do so many activities from homemade play dough to baking to Spanish. They head out nearly every day and get lots of time in the garden on top of this. Since our oldest attended they have opened a new school readiness room for those heading to school and I think it's a great addition to the nursrey. We're so happy we returned to Dicky Birds with our second child, and it feels nice that so many of the lovely staff are still there

This is a great nursery & I can't recommend it highly enough. My daughter absolutely loves going to nursery & practically leaps out of my arms to her key worker. Very well run and a lovely, nurturing environment.

We are generally very happy with the Nursery. The childminding staff are incredible, they are professional, friendly, take our child's needs seriously and are fun people. The administrative staff are very good too. The nursery management is accommodating and we are pleased with their responsiveness and professionalism. Thanks DickyBirds!

My daughter is in Robins at Dickie Birds, Pelham Road, having just moved up from Sparrows. She has been at the nursery since 10/11 months old and we could not recommend it enough. The girls in the rooms, especially Hawa, Sabrina and Carmen, are so caring and always plan exciting activities for the children. They were also very supportive with potty training after our daughter's 2nd birthday.

We particuarly like Dickie Birds, Pelham Road as they are one of the few nurseries that take them out in their local community (e.g farm/train station/park) and they are also able to offer ad hoc sessions. I genuinely feel that Dickie Birds is an underrated nursery in the area - the staff are kind and let children be children and we are happy with the care provided thus far.

Our daughter loves nursery, all the staff and carers are great, and know our daughter personally. It's such a relief for us to know she's happy, cared for and enjoys her days. They have loads of activities, trips out, music sessions, to support develop all her senses. We also love the app, so we can keep track of her schedule throughout the day. Would thoroughly recommend Dicky Birds Pelham Road.

Our little boy loves going to nursery and adores all the staff, as do we, which helps us hugely with the guilt of being working parents! Management have always been extremely responsive and accommodating of our needs and we a very glad that this was the nursery we chose.

Our daughter absolutely loves it here, and the staff are always so lovely and friendly with us. They're really responsive to any questions, and it feels like a genuinely friendly place where everyone seems to know all the kids. We feel so happy sending our daughter here; she's clearly enjoying herself and learning a lot!

For constructive feedback, we'd suggest enforcing an indoor shoe policy for hygiene and being more vigilant about ensuring children wear coats when playing outside in the cold. Overall, a fantastic place for high-quality care and education.

The staff make an effort to get to know both the children and their families, which makes it a welcoming environment. They provide a good range of activities, including visits and forest school, which help keep the children engaged and stimulated. Overall, it's a supportive place where you feel confident leaving your child.

Dicky Birds Nursery on Pelham Rd is truly exceptional. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the warmth, care and genuine love the staff have for every child. The team are not only highly professional, but incredibly nurturing, attentive and enthusiastic, making each child feel safe, valued and confident every single day. The creative activities are outstanding - thoughtfully planned, engaging and varied, they spark curiosity, imagination and joy. The excursions are equally impressive, giving children exciting opportunities to explore, learn and grow beyond the classroom in a well-organised and secure way. It's rare to come across a team who show such humanity and professionalism, even when a child doesn't end up attending. We truly cannot thank them enough for the understanding and kindness they showed us, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other families. I was on the fence initially about sending my son to Pelham Dicky Birds as I had heard mixed reviews. After two showing round opportunities I decided to take a chance and hope for the best in October 2025 after hearing of a managerial change and nursery shake up. My son has been there now nearly 6 months and I can honestly say it is the best decision I made. The staff are so friendly and helpful towards not only my son but also myself and his dad. My son has developed so much in such a little time since being there with the range of activities they offer. So pleased I trusted my gut and went with Dicky Birds Pelham. Will be recommending to other parents looking for a safe place to send their child.

We have been thoroughly impressed with Dicky Birds Pelham Road Nursery. Over his time there, we have watched our son grow in confidence and independence, developing a strong sense of routine and self-assurance.

The nursery offers a rich and varied programme of activities, including PE and dance classes, as well as regular excursions around Wimbledon - from visits to the fire station to trips to the farm.

The children are also encouraged to respect and contribute to their community through meaningful experiences such as visiting the local care home and helping to keep our parks clean by picking up litter.

Parents are warmly included through thoughtfully organised events, giving us the opportunity to share in the wonderful environment our children enjoy every day.

Dicky Birds Pelham Road is truly an outstanding nursery, with exceptional teachers and dedicated management. We are deeply grateful for the care, attention, and encouragement they provide to our son.

So all in all, we are much happier than when we started our journey with Dicky Birds and would recommend this nursery to other parents.

We knew from Maddie's first day that this was the best nursery for her because of the lovely people that work here. She's only been here for a month or so but she is so well looked after (even on very little sleep still!) which makes it so much easier for us to get used to someone else looking after her such a lot of the time. The fact that everyone takes time to tell us about her day when we pick her up, let us know if anything seems off, and give us little photo updates so often honestly is a dream for us parents! Special thanks to lovely Rosie who seems to really understand Maddie's little personality and looks after her so well!

My child has been happily attending the nursery since May; it is rewarding to leave and collect him with a smile. The staff are attentive to his needs, and the management team has been welcoming and approachable.

Our son has been going to the nursery for the past 9 months or so but he took quite some time to settle in. I can say that the staff there have been excellent from the very outset - extremely caring, empathetic and tuned into his needs I can say that he has gone from having a lot of anxiety during drop offs to now looking forward to going to nursery. He now speaks very fondly of his carers there and feels very engaged. The personalised attention to little details has made this transition possible - from the daily visits to the park and other places of interest to children (Such as train station, library etc) to the food they serve (my son is vegetarian and a fussy eater but the staff have gone out of the way to make him special food that he likes). We can now see the transformation at home in how he sits down and eats by himself! In terms of picking up social and communication skills, he has had a steep learning curve over the past few months.
