Day Nurseries Owned by Grandir UK in London

Our daughter has attended Little Cubs since late 2022, and is about to finish her time there. While I cannot fault the care & commitment of a few individual staff members over the years, our experience on the whole is not one I would recommend. The promise of better things after the Grandir takeover has not been met, communication remains poor & staff retention is shockingly bad. It's a constant revolving door of temporary staff who form no real bonds with the children, and seem so unengaged/unhelpful, so the few permanent staff are rushed off their feet and actively have to tell them to do their jobs, staff culture/morale seems low. There have been safeuarding issues, and obvious violations of ratios, where they've had to move kids around rooms to balance numbers due to low staff numbers. In recent weeks a poorly-timed 6-week garden renovation has closed the garden, meaning kids are kept inside with no AC and very little structure to their day's activities. Looking forward to leaving

Our sons are happy and excited to attend every day, and we feel very lucky to be part of such a warm and welcoming nursery.

Our son has been at the nursery for just over a year and has gone through the baby and toddler rooms and is now beginning his transition to the 2-3s. We have had a great experience with the nursery and have always felt like the staff really cared about our son and his development. We can tell he has fun and has made a real connection with the staff and other children. It's great that there is a good amount of free form fun as well as guided learning, including yoga and Spanish classes. We also like that he can spend plenty of time outdoors. We are very thankful to all the staff!

We've been so impressed with the Ducklings team at Dicky Birds Dundonald Road. Our daughter settled in really well from the start, which was down to the thorough settling in period before she officially joined. The team are always welcoming, happy to have a debrief at the end of the day, and genuinely care.

The staff are fantastic, they truly care, and it shows in everything they do. They go above and beyond to make sure our son is happy and settled.

Our son took some time to adjust at first, and the team guided us through the transition with patience and understanding. Drop-offs were difficult in the early days, but the staff always found ways to make things exciting for him. During the settling-in period, he spent most of his time in the arms of his key worker, which we appreciated enormously. He's since built a strong bond with her and with other members of staff. We've gotten to know most of the staff well, which leaves us feeling relaxed and reassured. Communication is excellent, and the app they provide is genuinely practical and easy to use.

Although our time at Dundonald Road was relatively brief for personal circumstances, our experience (and our daughter's) was very positive. Our daughter settled quickly and developed hugely in a short space of time. All of the staff were wonderful - happy, caring and very engaged with the children.

I moved my child from another nursery in Islington, and it was honestly the best decision I ever made. When he first started, he had a few difficulties and needed extra support. Since joining, I have seen a huge improvement in all areas of his development. The staff have been caring, supportive, and always willing to help. I am extremely happy with the support both my child and I have received. The nursery has made a real positive difference, and I would highly recommend it to other parents.

I visited Dickybirds Claremont Road Nursery and found it to be clean, welcoming, and well organised. The manager was super friendly and easy to talk to, and the staff seemed caring and attentive. The children looked happy and engaged in their activities. Overall, it was a very positive visit and the nursery made a great impression.

My daughter has been in preschool at dicky birds and is thriving. The staff are all compassionate and create structured activities that enhance her learning and prepare her for reception. Forest school and sports weekly are amazing activities that get her enjoying the outdoors. The class size is smaller than our previous nursery which has been excellent for my daughter. She runs in every day! I'm sending my youngest daughter there too when I go back to work. I would 100% recommend this nursery, especially if you value consistent faces, kind teachers, thoughtful activities, and making sure you child is ready for reception.

My son loves this nursery. The staff are very caring and supportive, and he is always happy to go there. He learns a lot every day and has made great progress since he started. I really appreciate that I am always kept informed about what he is doing, even when I am not with him. It gives me peace of mind knowing he is safe, happy, and learning. We're so glad we found Little Cubs Nursery. The team are exceptionally caring, energetic, and genuinely invested in every child's development. As SEND parents, we felt supported from day one. They don't have a one-size-fits-all approach - they get to know your child and adjust things as needed. This has helped our son thrive, and their commitment to inclusion and community is fantastic. Communication is excellent, feedback is always acted on, and we love the app - messaging, news, and the photo observations are highlights of our day. A lot of thought goes into the various activities and celebrations, and it's lovely to see the children learn about different cultures. While there isn't a huge outdoor space, the location is perfect for riverside walks, the Park, the library, and the Museum. The Grandir group the nursery is part of seems very well organised too, and the parent relationship manager has been great. We couldn't recommend Little Cubs more highly.

Our best nursery by far, have tried a few around our in area in Greenwich and the others dont compare in terms of personal connection. Our little one feels that they are going to their second home. Great leadership by the Head of the Nursery Sheila and Room Head Hannah, they always greet us with a smile and our little one (and our elder before going to school) always feels welcomed and loved. It is such a joy and relief to feel your kids are safe and cared for when you are at work. The team also provide valuable feedback and areas for improvement and are always honest and open. In terms if activities, it is always something new and our little one is always excited to go and explore. They also focus a lot on outdoors, when the weather permits to give them a great experience

Since our child started his nursery in September 2025 I am observing his progress in developing his skills, confidence and his integration as his time increases since he started. This particular month (May 26) we reflect his art work which he really likes doing. I feel that with the his teachers he really likes his interaction with them. I am very happy in how the staff at winchmore hill day nursery are assisting my child into maximising his development and his potential.There was a recent event organised by the nursery where i could spend time in his nursery for an hour and see his journey and what he does. A great idea as I understand that this was the first time this was done. I am very happy that I chose this nursery as it was also recommended by a family member.
