Dicky Birds Queens Road, Wimbledon, a GrandirUK Day Nursery

We have had a wonderful experience with our son joining Dicky Birds. Everyone is so welcoming and thoughtful with the children. Our son really loves all the staff and has big smiles and hugs for all of them. The garden is really big and I love all the ages having their own separate spaces. The app is very good and the team are good at updating it.

My daughter attended Dicky Birds for 3 years and was very well cared for throughout. The staff are caring and friendly and give honest feedback on progression to parents. Facilities are great with a lovely garden setting, trips to Forest School, the theatre, PE and farm visits! I think that my daughter's time at Dicky Birds set her up for school and she still talks about her friends and carers now that she has left as they all made a positive impact on her development and early years. I felt that we were supported by management throughout our time at Dicky Birds and would highly recommend!

It has been a pleasant journey for my son since he started in Dicky Birds. Teachers are caring and loving. There are plenty of space and activities to keep the kids amused during the day. I like the fact that they take all the kids out to the park and library on a regular basis and there are plenty of outdoor playtime.

My daughter started in the ducklings room and then moved to sparrows and both have been fantastic. The staff is caring and they seem to do lots of activities. We get regular updates about what they've done and what they're going to be doing the next week, which is great as it helps me feel more informed about my daughter's Day. They seemed to spend lots of time in the garden or in the local park, which I absolutely love. I was a bit worried about her transition from the baby into the toddler room and I wanted to do it a bit earlier as I was having another baby and didn't want that transition at the same time, and the management staff were very accommodating. I think my only criticism would be that some days (particularly around the holidays) the primary staff didn't seem to be there (at least at drop off and pick up). But I think it was a timing thing, as most days the key staff workers we know are there even if others are there as well.

Our son is really happy at Dicky Birds and often mentions staff and his friends at home. The staff is very dedicated and always goes the extra mile to offer an exciting week at the nursery. As parents we find that the nursery communicates well and we are updated on a regular basis. The nursery also offers the opportunity to spend some time with the staff, other children and their parents during special events, such as the summer party.

Great nursery. Staff is friendly and dedicated to the kids. One of the big aspects is the outdoor space and the amount of time they spend outdoors being creative and moving. All activities are shaped to children's age and they are given the space to choose. The only recommendation would be to share the meals menu in a better way.

I 110% recommend Dicky Birds, Queens Road! My son has been there since 12 months . Staff take wonderful care of him and they do the most fun activities! He loves it. All the staff have been excellent but special shout-out to Saadia and the Sparrows Team. They are lovely people and work very hard for the children.

My son has been attending this nursery for over 5 months. We are very happy with his care here. The staff are all warm and kind. The app is great at keeping us updated on what he is doing during the day. We can communicate with the staff via message through the app or by phoning them up directly. It is a pleasure to see my son going happily to his carers in the morning and coming back to me happily at the end of the day. He is thriving and this is partly due to the great care he receives at nursery.

Overall nursery feels a little chaotic, staff are lovely but I feel they could do with having another member of staff to help,would of been nice to receive welcome pack with maybe a little paragraph on each member of staff with their interests and qualifications, also compared with other nursery apps not much detail given with the meals eg not told what food was served, eg lunch, all, little none, very basic, toilet visits also aren't recorded, on other nursery apps I've also seen a weekly plan outline for each day so we know what children can be expected to be doing that day,eg water play, making monsters, yoga etc. coat pegs with childrens face and name would be nice in hallway too, there is room for this but it seems they just cram bags in bathroom, also be nice to have doors in the toilets to add privacy for children.

I have two children at Dickie Birds, one in pre school and one in Sparrows. My daughter started from another nursery straight into pre school and my son started in the baby room. I was nervous about my daughter starting in pre school trying to make new friends and get used to a new environment but she couldn't have been happier - the new experiences like PE and forest school she has absolutely loved. The staff made her feel so welcome and were so caring, the new management team are also so great. They have been amazing and supportive with any issues relating to health / development and great communication. When I drop them off I feel so lucky to know that they are left with staff who genuinely love and care for them. Thank you to all the staff and management at Dickie Birds we couldn't have chosen a better nursery!

My daughter has been attending Dicky Birds since July 2022, and our experience with the nursery has been outstanding. The staff are wonderful warm, caring, and highly engaged, and the range of activities they provide is incredible. My daughter adores the team and often talks about them at home.

The graduation ceremony for school leavers was beautifully organised and truly memorable, a real testament to the care and thought the nursery puts into everything they do. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dicky Birds to anyone looking for a nurturing, stimulating, and supportive environment for their children.

While I am writing this review on the back of the incredible pre-school graduation ceremony that DB held in July 2025, I want to express how bittersweet it is to be moving on from the wonderful DB family as my child goes off to Reception on September. I have always felt that my child is safe, well-looked after, encouraged to be brave and try new things (PE at South Park Gardens is one of her favourite activities), and taught to care for her classmates, nature, and animals (the petting zoo and farm animals brought in for the summer party were a nice touch!). We know the staff members by name, and they genuinely care for the children they look after. My child has been at DB since July 2022 when she started in Ducklings, and just this past week was given a cap and gown to wear for her graduation ceremony, which boasted balloons, thoughtful gift bags, a magician, and treats for all. DB knows how to make children and parents feel special - it's a wonderful community. Thank you to everyone.

Both of my children love nursery. The nursery has got better and better over the last year. Communication is now very good and the environment feels loving and supportive. The community between the families is also brilliant.

Management and the rest of the Ducklings Team have been incredibly welcoming for our son who recently started at Dicky Birds. He has settled in very quickly, and he is very happy and enjoys being there. They have great communication, have events where parents can come and hang out with the children outside of drop off and pick up which is often a busy time and overall is a warm and welcoming environment. I am very pleased we have put our son into Dicky Birds Queens Road.

My daughter is very happy at nursery and growing in confidence and skills. She has been there since ducklings and is now in pre-school. She surprises us every day with a new little skill! The team are lovely and she is very fond of them. They deal admirably with difficult drop-offs and are always happy to offer a cuddle and reassurance for parents. We'll miss them all when she goes to school!

Both of my two kiddies (aged 4 and 2) have absolutely loved Dickies since they were babies. It has a lovely family feel and communication with room leaders and management has been great. All of the staff have been extremely nurturing and loving with the girls and they're always coming up with new engaging activities.

Our children are happy here. The staff are really kind and caring towards the children and the environment is so homely and welcoming. The nursery are making loads of effort to involve the parents and organise events which I also appreciate.

We’re really happy with the Ducklings team at Dickybirds Queens Road. Our child loves going to nursery - there are so many activities, and they seem educational as well as fun. The staff in Ducklings are wonderful - so caring to the children, and really helpful and informative for us. The food is nutritious and varied, and overall, we feel our child is really well looked after.
