Tops Day Nurseries is a family of 29-day nurseries across the south, covering Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset and Devon.

Tops Day Nurseries is the most sustainable childcare and educational group in the UK. In practice, this means children are actively engaged in reducing, re-using and recycling resources; in growing and caring for animals and learning to respect each other and the environment.

Behind the scenes, Tops are working on a whole host of actions too to ensure all buildings eco-ratings are improving; that waste is separated effectively so that food waste goes to farms if possible, and is incinerated for energy if not, that none of the waste goes to landfill.

Tops area managers even have electric-only vehicles to avoid making the environment any worse for children from driving around.

The group provides children with a happy and secure environment where trained and qualified staff nurture their development through a range of activities, including messy play, cooking, problem-solving, storytelling, creative play and trips out.

Extra-curricular activities are also offered.

These include Tops forest school, tooth brushing, meditation, Tops cooking school and rugby rangers.

The nurseries care for children aged between three months and five years and offer 2, 3 and 4-year-old funding.

Staff at Tops Day Nurseries pride themselves on offering flexible hours tailored to parents’ and carers’ needs, where they can save money by booking to the nearest 15 minutes.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Tops Christchurch has helped both my children immensly. For a parent to trust a childcare provider with their children is very special. I feel happy and confident leaving my children with their key workers and enjoy the daily observations. My children always come home happy and the staff are quick to
handover any issues. I am so thankful for all of Tops who take such good care of both my children.

I'm impressed with the development of my daughter from the time she's started attending the nursery. The day review given during handover is super impressive.
Another noteworthy thing to mention is the Admin(Tracey). She always brightens my day as there's a solution to almost all that I bring to her.

My child has an amazing time at this nursery which is absolutely the main thing the staff are brilliant and know what he likes to do and are very supportive, the only slight thing for myself has been the administrative process from time to time, wrong hours planned. There were times were it was escalated
to the manager as it was not dealt with.
That said the last 2 queries were dealt with within 12 hours so potentially this has been resolved.
. Otherwise it's been a great nursery, I'm still glad he goes there but it's only fair to be honest in a review.

Carers are lovely and admin team supportive. Their hard work and flexibility allowed my kid to join the nursery and settle at his own pace.

I'm very happy with all the staff are Tops. Always very friendly, happy and above all amazing with my boys. I couldn't recommend this daycare any higher if I tried. Excellent in all areas.

I can't think of a single thing that I would change about Tops in Bournemouth. We've been going there for almost a year and I've been so impressed with the care given to my son. All the staff are welcoming and friendly and I always feel so at ease discussing anything with them.
There is a vast range
of activities and facilities available (indoor and outdoor) so I'm never worried that he will be bored.
I especially love the events that parents can attend - it's so lovely to see his environment and what he loves doing. I'm also always very impressed with the food choices.
I chose this nursery for the convenience for work but we've stayed because I can't imagine getting any better care elsewhere.

My son 2 years of age has recently started at Tosta Nursery Bournemouth he didn't initially get upset on leaving in the morning, but the staff have been impeccable with helping him settle. He is now going in without any tears and it's happy to see the staff and his key worker on his first day. The key
worker actually phoned me shortly after I left before I had a chance to call to see how he was which I was very impressed with.
He does looks activities throughout the morning, which I'm always updated on through his app. Communication is great through the nursery lots of activities messy play waterplay etc when going into the nursery the cleanliness is outstanding. They provide a very good range of fruit and veg on snack times. I'm very happy leaving my son here and know that his well looked after and safe at all times couldn't be happier thank you.

My little girl has been attending the baby room since October 2025, she settled in right away and loves all the ladies who work in there especially Abi, Alyssa, Sarah, Anna and Lillie, All the ladies in the room are incredible, they really care about the children and give them so much love. planned out are very well planned, so much love and effort goes into each activity. My little girl has learnt so much since starting at 8.5 months old, she now waves hello and goodbye and crawling!! The most loveliest baby room!

We've had a really positive experience with this nursery. The range of activities is diverse and engaging, and it's clear that a lot of thought goes into supporting each child individually, with tailored plans and activities where needed. They have accepted my child with additional needs with open arms, learning his diagnoses and haloing us to navigate through his early years. All the staff are lovely and well informed. They have gone above and beyond for us all in emergencies and through the EHCP processes, along with funding options
also. Our child is and has always been included as much as possible with the different activities throughout the day and he just has the most amazing and fun days.

Tops has always been a lovely setting which we have used for all our children. The staff are lovely and my daughter has a great time doing lots of activities. The space and building is stunning and it is a well resourced provision. We would recommend this setting.
