Tops Day Nursery - Pokesdown, Bournemouth, offers a professional early years' childcare service and education to children of pre-school age, from as young as three months, as well as running a 'hi 5's club' for youngsters from the age of five to 11 years.

There are no worksheets or workbooks – children are inspired to explore, investigate, design and work things out for themselves. The aim is to inspire children to be adventurous, curious and excited to learn!

Early years' is the time to allow children to have the opportunity to be creative, investigate their environment and build foundations for continued future learning.

A pleasant learning environment is tailored to the personal interests of different age ranges, with a friendly team of carers respectful of culture and background. The nursery has an excellent outdoor play area which is accessible in all weathers and linked to the interior playrooms.

This award-winning nursery is part of a group that provides the most eco-sustainable childcare and education in the UK, being respectful of the environment and acting to reduce, re-use and recycle resources is an important part of the culture and routine for the children and staff.

Top Day Nursery Pokesdown offers very flexible hours. Sessions can be booked to the nearest 15 minutes so parents only book and pay for the hours they require.

Families of children at the nursery are more than welcome to call as often as they like to talk to a member of staff about their child and their day at nursery.

My eldest has been going to Tops since he was 2, following a relocation to the area. He's just about to start school and the team at Tops Pokesdown have played a huge role in getting him ready for his next big adventure.


His baby brother is now at the nursery as well and they are both so happy to

go everyday. Every member of the team is friendly, caring and thoughtful - I can't fault them and will be very sad when our Tops journey ends in a couple of years.

I had an excellent experience with Top Day Nursery Pokesdown. I love their activities, and my son genuinely enjoys going to nursery, which makes me so happy as a parent.
The teachers are very kind and polite, and I love the way they handled my son with such care and attention. He has flourished under
their guidance.
I know my son will miss this nursery! He even wakes me up excited to get ready for school each morning - that says everything about how much he loves it here.
The staff have created such a nurturing environment that has helped prepare him beautifully for his transition to primary school.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Top Day Nursery Pokesdown for giving my son such a positive start to his educational journey!
Would recommend to other parents looking for quality childcare in the area.

The Best Nursery Around!
Tops Day Nurseries - Pokesdown has been an absolute blessing for our family. They've cared for my daughter since she was 2 years old, and now she's about to begin her next adventure in primary school. Watching her grow in confidence, kindness, and independence is a true credit
to the care, love, and support she's received here.


The team have not only nurtured her development but supported me as a parent every step of the way. They've been there through all the milestones, the wobbles, and the big wins - always reassuring, communicative, and genuinely invested in her wellbeing.


My little boy is currently at the nursery and I wouldn't want him anywhere else. It's rare to find a place where you feel completely at ease leaving your children, knowing they're safe, happy, and thriving.

I have loved my daughter being in Tops. She has grown into a bright little independent lady and the staff have been amazing. She was in graduation 2024. But not leaving forever! My youngest starts in September. Would definitely recommend. All the staff are lovely!

Lovely staff, excellent facilities, very clean and children were all surprisingly chilled on an open day visit which I feel is a reflection of the amazing staff.
My daughter loved her time at this nursery and graduated up in to big school but still comes in holidays for the hi5 club which is also outstanding.

My son has been at Tops Boscombe for just over four months now, and he has settled in so well. I am really impressed with the attentiveness of the staff, how well they communicate everything with me (both the nursery staff and admin staff) and how much my son loves attending. It is great that they make
use of the outside space when the weather allows, and they always have different activities going on to keep the children engaged. They provide daily diary updates on the app in a timely manner and also share pictures on a weekly-or-so basis of what my son has been up to, which I love seeing. For me, the things that interested me about Tops more generally was the flexibility of bookings and their commitment to sustainability. I really value that they offer good vegetarian meals for my son and that they are supportive of our choice of using reusable nappies (and actively promote this).

I love this nursery, my little girl won't even say goodbye to me when dropping her off as she just wants to go in and get busy. I love the way they do daily diaries so you know exactly what they have been doing while there, they really take care of the development and understanding of how your child

I really rate Tops Nursery Boscombe, so much so that when we moved a couple of miles away, we kept our daughter there rather than move her to a closer one. My daughter has built up great attachments to the staff in the baby room and I really get a feeling that they truly care about my child's wellbeing
and happiness. The staff are always friendly and professional and I have recomended Tops Boscombe to a friend of mine who is about to return to work and is looking for a childcare solution.
