The nursery works in partnership with a local care home to offer intergenerational experiences and is supported by a team of qualified, friendly, and experienced staff. Children are guided in line with the EYFS framework, helping to build confidence and independence. Flexible hours are available to support families, and the nursery accepts all types of funding.
On the ground floor, there are two preschool rooms, including a stage area that provides additional space for creative play and group activities. Upstairs, an open-plan room for children aged 2–3 years encourages exploration and supports the development of motor skills through carefully planned activity areas and quality resources within a calm, neutral environment.
The baby room offers a warm and secure setting for children from three months until walking age, with care routines tailored to each child’s individual needs. The nursery also benefits from a well-equipped outdoor area where children can stay active and enjoy fresh air, while its location close to the beach provides further opportunities for outdoor experiences.

Very good and flexible nursery. Our older son spent some truly lovely years here, starting in the babies room and staying all the way through to Preschool. It has been amazing to see how much he has grown, learned and developed during his time here.

Very good and flexible nursery. Our older son spent some truly lovely years here, starting in the babies room and staying all the way through to Preschool. It has been amazing to see how much he has grown, learned and developed during his time here. We also have our younger son at the nursery, who absolutely loved it from the very beginning. Both of our boys have made wonderful friendships here and have developed great social skills and the ability to work and play as part of a group. The nursery staff are truly fantastic. They are caring, warm and have such a wonderful approach to children. We have always felt that our children are happy, safe and well looked after. The office team are also brilliant. We have never had any problems, and whenever there is something important to deal with, it is handled quickly, professionally and efficiently.
We are incredibly grateful for all the care, support and wonderful memories our children have gained here. We would highly recommend this nursery

I would recommend Tops day nursery to anybody currently looking for childcare or look for change. My son was visiting this nursery 1.5 years and I regret not to start with them right the way! My son is enjoyed every single day, had so much fun and learnt so many things! Their programs Forest School and Cooking school, visiting carehome for in Southbourne, were absolutely great experiences for my son. Amazing, loving, friendly and very helpful staff!

We honestly couldn't recommend Tops Day Nursery enough. Our son has been going since he was just 9 months old and is now almost 2, and it has been so lovely to see how much he has grown, developed and thrived during his time there.

We honestly couldn't recommend Tops Day Nursery enough. Our son has been going since he was just 9 months old and is now almost 2, and it has been so lovely to see how much he has grown, developed and thrived during his time there. He loves going in, and it's so lovely to see how excited and happy he is every morning. Knowing he is so settled, content and so well cared for gives us complete peace of mind. Our son loves all the staff there, and so do Mummy and Daddy! We'd especially like to give a huge shout out to the Baby Room. Our boy absolutely loves it in there and has formed such a special bond with Christina, Betty, Rach and Happy. They have all been so wonderful with him and clearly care about him so much, which means the world to us as parents.
It's clear that the whole team genuinely love what they do, and that really shines through in the care, kindness and attention they give to the children. We're so grateful for everything they do.

We couldn't be happier with this nursery and would recommend it to anyone. The staff are incredibly kind, caring and genuinely invested in every child's wellbeing. They have become like a second family to us. Our children have attended from baby right through to 6 years old, and every one of them has loved going. The meals and snacks are always varied and nutritious, and the range of activities, from cookery school to forest school, keep the children engaged and learning. They really listen to what parents want for their child and put those wishes into practice. Any concerns are raised promptly and handled with care, and they always do their best to accommodate scheduling changes whenever possible. We feel so lucky to have found such a supportive, nurturing nursery. Thank you for everything you do for our family. We truly appreciate you all!

My eldest has been going to Tops since he was 2, following a relocation to the area. He's just about to start school and the team at Tops Pokesdown have played a huge role in getting him ready for his next big adventure.

My eldest has been going to Tops since he was 2, following a relocation to the area. He's just about to start school and the team at Tops Pokesdown have played a huge role in getting him ready for his next big adventure.
His baby brother is now at the nursery as well and they are both so happy to go everyday. Every member of the team is friendly, caring and thoughtful - I can't fault them and will be very sad when our Tops journey ends in a couple of years.

The Best Nursery Around!
Tops Day Nurseries - Pokesdown has been an absolute blessing for our family. They've cared for my daughter since she was 2 years old, and now she's about to begin her next adventure in primary school. Watching her grow in confidence, kindness, and independence is a true credit to the care, love, and support she's received here.
The team have not only nurtured her development but supported me as a parent every step of the way. They've been there through all the milestones, the wobbles, and the big wins - always reassuring, communicative, and genuinely invested in her wellbeing.
My little boy is currently at the nursery and I wouldn't want him anywhere else. It's rare to find a place where you feel completely at ease leaving your children, knowing they're safe, happy, and thriving.

I had an excellent experience with Top Day Nursery Pokesdown. I love their activities, and my son genuinely enjoys going to nursery, which makes me so happy as a parent. The teachers are very kind and polite, and I love the way they handled my son with such care and attention. He has flourished under their guidance. I know my son will miss this nursery! He even wakes me up excited to get ready for school each morning - that says everything about how much he loves it here. The staff have created such a nurturing environment that has helped prepare him beautifully for his transition to primary school. My daughter is feeling more comfortable in the nursery and she likes the staff. She can’t wait to go to the nursery. When I take her, she is sad because she wants to stay more. She has learned a lot of things in the nursery.

All staff have been very kind and have helped my child settle into the nursery. The daily updates and the app are great. It is always nice to see what he has been doing during the day. There is good communication between home and nursery; both written and verbal feedback is very useful.

There is good communication between home and nursery; both written and verbal feedback is very useful. I am very grateful to all the staff and his key worker, who has been amazing.
