The Old Station Nursery Group was established in 2002 with the opening of the group’s first nursery in Faringdon. Since then, the company has grown steadily, creating a similar feeling and ethos in each setting whilst nourishing each nursery’s unique strengths.

With the group being one of the leading nursery providers in the UK focused on learning, it is important that each child leaves nursery with a love of learning and the possibility to succeed in all that comes next. Furthermore, what matters most is that not only do the children feel safe and happy but also that there is a strong partnership maintained between the nursery, child and family.

Together, as a collective group of settings across the UK, the nursery teams work together to share knowledge and best practice, to inspire one another, and to ensure that they continue to innovate the ways in which they provide the highest standard of care to all children.

Our experience at LGR Poppleton has been excellent. The staff are amazing and they put so much care and attention into our child's learning + development. Our little boy loves going to nursery and it is clear how well he is cared for and looked after while he is there. His individual needs have been
identified by the staff (e.g fussy eating) and they ensure these needs are met. We couldn't be happier with how are child's cared for at LGR Poppleton. Thank you!

Our son started nursery at 5 months old and we were initially very nervous about sending him. The LCR team (dancing dragonflies) were absolutely brilliant and went above and beyond to make the transition smooth. Our son loves his nursery days and always has a big smile when he sees the team. They keep
us updated on his day with pictures and messages and support his learning well.

I cannot recommend Old Station Nursery enough, it is such a wonderful nursery and everyone who works there is kind, nurturing, enthusiastic, caring and approachable. They all have a dedicated passion to the education and care of the children they look after. As a first time mum I was so nervous about
leaving my little boy at nursery, but all the staff at Old Station made me feel at ease and ensured my little boy had the best time. He now walks in and waves me off, he absolutely loves it there and loves all the exciting activities they do, and it's so lovely to know he is somewhere where he feels safe and comfortable, his confidence and development has blossomed thanks to the staff at Old Station.

My son has been attending here since February and he is thriving. The wonderful staff in the baby room have helped him settle in and also made us, as parents, feel comfortable leaving our son with them. He always comes home a happy boy. We have noticed how his independence has flourished since attending
OSN. I would recommend this nursery to anyone who like me, was anxious leaving their child somewhere for the first time, as the baby room staff made me feel comfortable, and will happily take a phone call if you need reassurance your child has settled in. My son is doing really well and seems to have built some lovely relationships with the practitioners and opens his arms to them now at drop off in the morning, which as his Mom, makes me very comfortable. The staff have clearly worked with him to build these positive relationships and make him feel safe and happy at Nursery.

Jan has been amazing. I needed some urgent help to update my funding and add additional hours for my son. She resolved the issue very promptly and made the process as smooth as possible. She has consistently dealt with any queries I have had, since my son joined the nursery over a year ago, alongside
the deputy managers Becca and Shannon. The strong leadership team evidently contributes to the happy nursery environment. He is always excited to go to nursery and the team always go above and beyond to ensure he is happy, healthy and meeting all of his developmental milestones. I would highly recommend this nursery.

We couldn't be happier with this nursery. Having one child in the toddler room and another in pre-school, we've experienced a wide range of what they offer, and it's been fantastic throughout.
The staff are incredibly nurturing, attentive, and genuinely care about each child. Nothing ever feels like
too much trouble, and they always go the extra mile to make both children feel safe, supported, and happy.
The nursery creates such a fun and engaging environment. They celebrate a variety of events throughout the year, which adds excitement and helps the children learn about different traditions and occasions. The activities are always creative, stimulating, and well thought out, keeping the children engaged and eager to participate.
We're also really impressed with the meals provided-healthy, varied, and clearly enjoyed by the children.
Overall, it's a warm, welcoming place where children can thrive, and we feel very lucky to have found it.

The nursery has been very accomodating. Both our little ones really enjoy coming here, they have been especially great with the youngest (1 1/2 when joined) in helping him settle in, and make sure we were comfortable too along the way. Only criticism I have is that there are things that are overlooked
or not perhaps communicated properly. I've asked for the app to be looked into since September as I only get access to one child and its promised to be fixed and still isn't.

We are very happy with the nursery. The staff are lovely and I really enjoy the updates they send us throughout the day.
Our daughter has settled in well with the encouragement of the staff. She gets on well with the staff and other children. She enjoys the food prepared there.
The staff are helpful
if I ever call in with queries or to check in on our daughter. They are very thoughtful and considerate.

I was recommended this nursery by a friend who has a child that attends here. On my tour of the nursery, staff were welcoming and knowledgable (particularly about funding which was new to me).


I was impressed by the abundance of play space they have to offer both inside and out, from the outside you

wouldn't expect it!


The extra curricular offers like cooking, football and yoga were a big selling point for me too.


I like that I can see what my son has been doing each day on the app.


My only wish is that they did more outings and trips. Especially with the beach so close by.


This nursery is more expensive than others that my wife and I looked at, but they also offer so much more. To improve value for money, it would be great to see reduced fees offered when sufficient notice of holidays/child not attending is given.

As you have pointed out, it is only when you embark on a tour that you really get to see just how much safe space and equipment we have for the children's enjoyment, learning and development.
We try to be as transparent as possible about our nursery fees. Unfortunately, when children are absent, our nursery overheads and staff costs remain, meaning we are unable to refund these sessions to parents in these instances. We also appreciate your feedback regarding trips out into our local community and will take this into consideration going forward.

The nursery have been very supportive with Lola to get her to be ready for school. They are very welcoming and all the staff are very friendly. Both my girls have loved coming and our 3rd will be joining in September. The staff have been helpful when ever I have come to them about anything and any conserns
I have had regarding my children.

The new management team at Townsend have been fabulous and retention amongst staff has been a lot better. Our daughter loves coming to nursery, and mainly plays nurseries at home, replicating the staff. Staff have been honest with us re her behaviours and methods to manage this from home so it can be
improved at nursery.

A team of absolute, real life heroes.
I am so grateful to the whole team at The Avenues who have worked tirelessly to help settle my baby into nursery over the past 10 weeks.
Our key worker has been truly fantastic with limitless patience and kindness and a real commitment to connecting with and
settling my son. However he has also been supported by the entire team who work so harmoniously and diligently together, always greeting my sobbing child with huge smiles and good mornings at each challenging drop off through out his settling period.
I have been blown away by the skills, expertise and boundless energy of the team.
