Such a lovely nursery, great outdoors space where the children spend lots of time whatever the weather, staff are very friendly, great communication skills and handovers at the end of the day, kept up to date on the app with lots of information and photographs daily.

Our son moved onto primary school in September 2025 after more than three happy years at Humpty Dumpty.
He has really shone, starting off shy and sad to be left and then becoming friends with most of the staff who still ask after him now.
We couldn't wish for a more happy and supportive environment.
I'd thoroughly recommend Humpty Dumpty at Dartington.

My 3rd child just started nursery in Dartington and I'm same pleased now with the nursery, their amazing staff and the educational time children are receiving there, as I was 10 years ago when my son started. We are bilingual family and all our little ones was struggling with their speech/talk level
before starting at HDC. The team offer all the support possible to help them. Thank you to Lisa and the rest of the team!

Our child has been at HDC Kingsteignton since she was 7 months old. She is always so happy to go into nursery in the mornings and always comes out with a smile on her face. She likes to tell us all about her day and also talks very fondly of the staff in the toddler room.

Our daughter absolutely loves this nursery. The staff are always there to support her with her learning and emotional development. The nursery managers have been really helpful and adaptive to my situation and needs. The staff are always available to discuss anything, and you never feel rushed at drop off/pick up. The use of the app is really good, and is nice to see updates through the day. My son is always kept clean eg nappy
changes. The health and safety is taken seriously. The food variety and frequency is great. Most importantly my son is very happy and content there. There is always nice activities for the children. The nursery is clean and modern. I am really pleased with how my son has settled, it's a great nursery with fabulous staff.

All of my 3 children have attended HDC and my son is there now. They have all absolutely loved it. The staff are kind and welcoming and all of my children have been happy and excited to go. There's a wide range of toys and activities and they have a great outdoor space. I genuinely have nothing negative

Our daughter started here at 11 months old and we have been so happy with the care she receives. The nursery genuinely feels like a home away from home. The staff are incredibly kind, adaptable and clearly care deeply about the children.


It gives us complete confidence leaving our daughter knowing

she is in such a nurturing environment. The children enjoy lovely developmental activities during the day including sensory, creative and play based learning, which she clearly loves.


We also really appreciate the amazing home cooked food the children are given. We feel very lucky to have found such a warm and supportive nursery.

We are absolutely delighted with this nursery. The staff are incredibly caring, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. From the very beginning, they made both my child and our family feel welcome and supported.
The environment is warm, safe, and stimulating, with a great variety of
activities that support learning through play. I've seen such positive development in my child's confidence, communication skills, and social interactions since starting here.
Communication with parents is excellent - we are always kept informed about daily activities, progress, and any important updates. It gives real peace of mind knowing our child is in such capable and nurturing hands.
I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a safe, loving, and inspiring place for their little one.

Staff are lovely and knowledgeable. My daughter loves it and has grown her confidence helping her to progress in many ways. HDC is an expensive nursery but id prefer to pay for some where i can trust will take the best care of my child. If there are any concerns, staff are very approachable.

My daughter has been attending HDC Newton Abbot since she was 9 months old, she's now nearly 3!
She absolutely loves nursery and starts clapping and giggling when we pull up for morning drop off.
She always tells us about her day and she even asks to "go to the Forest Room" at the weekends if she's
sad.
She's clearly very comfortable with her key person (Katy) as she always asks for her when we're at home.
Our son also stared at HDC in January this year and already has the staff wrapped around his little finger and acts like he owns the place! Cheeky little baby! His confidence has grown massively in a short space of time and he's more than happy to be handed over at the door and even leans and reaches out for whoever lets him in of a morning!
It's also the only two days a week when they both eat everything (and anything) that's put in front of them!
We love HDC!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about HDC! They are everything you look for in a nursery, they go above and beyond! Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are super accommodating and approachable. My daughter is thriving and absolutely loves all the activities they do, she always talks so
positively about her day and how lovely the staff are to her. They always keep me up to date on what is going on with my daughter, and send pics of her enjoying her time- especially the fun day trips they have out in the community! I have already booked my son a place and I can't wait for him to get settled!

HDC Dartmouth is fantastic! The staff are amazing & caring & always go above and beyond.
They engage in many outdoor activities, including social events outside at the nursery, at the carehome and in the community. My daughter is near enough every week out of the nursery setting, enjoying the beach
festivals, walks, park and so on.
I would highly recommend HDC Dartmouth!

Our son started at HDC in Sept 2023 and has moved up through all four rooms. As a family we have had a fantastic experience throughout. All the staff have been so friendly, kind and patient. The communication has been excellent and our son has thrived at the nursery. He absolutely loves attending and
has made some very special bonds with staff and peers. He loves being outside and the outside space at the nursery is exceptionally and this has certainly been a highlight of his time there. He has had so many opportunities both within the nursery setting and in the wider community, these have helped to built his confidence and provide a fantastic foundation towards his next steps at school. We cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for our son and us as a family and we will be sad for him to be leaving.

Our son loves going to nursery and the staff are absolutely brilliant. They helped him settle in right from the start in the toddler room and he is now loving pre-school and has amazing bonds with his room staff. The whole team are amazingly friendly, caring and proactive, always willing to discuss
any worries and make us all feel at home. Could not recommend enough.
