The Old Station Nursery Bampton is a warm and welcoming setting, located near the grounds of Bampton Primary School. As the nursery inhabits a smaller sized building, personalised care and attention is ensured for each individual child from their Key Carer. It also allows a close-knit environment to be achieved throughout the setting.

The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

Within the setting, there are three rooms, each designed with age-appropriate resources and facilities. The youngest children start in one of the two baby rooms, where they can develop and explore with a variety of soft play equipment, mirrors, musical instruments, and toys to help their learning and play. As children grow and develop, they then move on to the 2-4’s room, where they are presented with the opportunity to learn through play. In this room, there is plenty of preparation for school readiness, where children are provided with the knowledge and skills they need for a smooth transition to school.

Throughout the year, the children make the most of the large outdoor play area, which includes an undercover all-weather play space. The nursery actively encourages outdoor play, rain or shine, and regularly take the children on walks around the local area.

The nursery’s convenient location near school premises benefits both families and the children, making their transition to school a seamless process from the very start.

Overall I think Old Station Nursery in Bampton is a great nursery, but what makes it is its lovely, caring and generally brilliant staff. My current child is my 2nd child at the nursery & both have always been so happy there which is testament to the team.
They offer my child the development skills
she will need when moving on in early lift, which is of course supported by a loving home, but I do believe the benefits of child going to nursery, especially a one like ours, is priceless.
A big thanks to the leader of the baby room - you are just amazing and I'm so so happy you care for my 2nd child with so much love and attention, as you did my first.
My only constructive feedback is the nursery is like a sauna in the summer, please get air con & the baby outdoor space is too hot most of the summer, so other outdoor options should be offered - overheating babies is not idea and it affects my daughter skin terribly. Thank you to all though. A very happy parent.

Our daughter has now been going to Bampton nursery for 6 months and loves it. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, and you get a sense that they truly care about the children that they look after. We have a detailed handover at pick up time about how the day has gone and they're always helpful
with working on targets at nursery and at home. The app is incredibly detailed and it's really nice to see the pictures of activities during the day.

My son started nursery in January 2025 I was very nervous about anyone else looking after him as he has a rare blood disorder. The old station nursery have been absolutely fabulous with him and notify me if he has an accident, all the staff at the nursery are lovely and they are great with the children,
I get daily updates on when my child has had a nappy change, when he eats and when he sleeps + adorable pictures of him. I viewed a few nursery's and I choose this one because it has a warm familiar feel to it and it's not to big and overwhelming. Highly recommended!

Our daughter has been attending The Old Station Nursery Bampton since August 2023 and we are so pleased with how she has settled in. The staff in the Rainbow Room are fantastic and she's bonded really well with her key person. It's clear that the staff really care about her and her development and the
regular updates and photos we receive on what she has been up to are great. It's a shame the outdoor space isn't bigger but the staff do their best with the space they've got. We would recommend this nursery to anyone.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our nursery! The staff are warm, kind and personable and both my children have been so happy there!
Our key worker clearly cares so much about my son’s happiness, well-being and development. She knows him well and I trust her completely. He is learning
and developing all the time and there is great communication between nursery and home.

Our little girl absolutely loves going to nursery and we couldn’t be happier with the care she receives. She did struggle to settle in at first but the staff in the baby room were amazing and did everything they could to support her, which we really appreciated. Her key worker is absolutely lovely and
always takes the time to let us know what she’s been up to and how she’s progressing with her communication and motor skills etc. They do lots of lovely activities, which are always different and our daughter really enjoys them. They have a lovely little outdoor area and enjoy use of the school playground in the holidays. Despite having a routine in the room, they’re really flexible and happy to take onboard our suggestions as to what may help our daughter with her naps or fussy eating!

Since my son has been attending the nursery he has come on leaps and bounds with his development and personality. He enjoys the days he attends and we feel that we could not have picked a better nursery. A big part of this is the staff, who are always welcoming and whose interaction with the children
is second to none.

The Old Station Nursery Bampton staff are warm and friendly and our son smiles when he sees them. I can only comment on the baby room but their facilities are lovely and clean and they've done a great job with the small outside space they have. They sometimes join the rooms too so more interaction with
bigger kids and the larger outside space. The menu gives great variety too.

The ladies at the nursery are amazing - professional and extremely personable - my daughter loves them all
The activities they do with the children have a huge impact on their development.
They keep me up to date via the app on what's been happening and when she is collected explain what she has
done in the day/eaten and nap duration. This is fantastic.

Our son loves the nursery in Bampton and his key worker, they have a great relationship but all the staff are really friendly and he has a great bond with all staff. I couldn't recommend the nursery highly enough. He really enjoys the activities, particularly the yoga!

I would highly recommend The Old Station Nursery Bampton to anyone looking for childcare. All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming and genuinely care for the children. I have two children in the nursery who are both very different characters to one another, and I love that they are both given
the freedom to be themselves and explore the paths which they are interested in, rather than being forced into compulsory activities. The indoor/outdoor mix is lovely and my children always walk out with a huge smile on their face. I couldn’t ask for more.

Staff are very friendly and informative. Activities my child does at Nursery are great for their development. Lovely environment. The food menu seems to be healthy and balanced.
My child thoroughly enjoys attending nursery.
*My only negative would be the cost of food when my child attends an afternoon
session. It seems the daily price of food is halved but when attending an afternoon session they will only be there to eat afternoon tea whereas if they were attended the morning session, they would have breakfast, morning snack and lunch all for the same price.

Hello, I'm Katie and I'm the Nursery Manager here at The Old Station Nursery Bampton. I have a Foundation Degree in Early Years and am also qualified for Level 2 in Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health, Designated Safeguarding Lead and First Aid Trained.


Children from birth to five thrive in this small and friendly nursery and then move seamlessly into school - either on-site or to other local primary schools. Our 2-5 year olds are based in the same room which leads to great sibling groups and cross-fertilisation of ideas!
