Overall Experience

Staff have been brilliant, right through from the baby room to the kindergarten, honestly cannot rate them highly enough. My little one is safe and happy here, and her development has been lovely to see.

Overall Experience

My little girl has been attending this nursery since Feb 2025 and I can't thank all the staff there enough! She settled straight in and absolutely loves everyone that has worked with her. Her speech and overall development has come on so much and there is always plenty of activities going on relating

to the season. I was very nervous when she started nursery as every parent is but I take her in knowing she is well looked after and supported. The communication is spot on and the app regularly updated. Thank you so much!

Overall Experience

An outstanding nursery which we would highly recommend, the staff are great. The only niggle I would mention is the mud kitchen - although this gives children opportunity to explore, it does mean they come home very dirty.

I can't praise the nursery enough. My little boy loves going to nursery. He loves the staff, as do i. They are always friendly, accommodating and always there to listen if needed.
The facilities are amazing, they do so much with the children. Even having activities in the reception to take home and

do with your child if you want to.
The food menu is always accommodating and varied. My little boy loves the food (sometimes having seconds)

My youngest son finished his High Hopes journey in August after a brilliant few years at this lovely nursery. My eldest had attended years earlier, so it was an easy decision for us to choose this nursery again. The staff work so hard there. They always put so much effort into making sure my son was

happy at nursery; he developed so much there, gaining skills and confidence right from the start of his time there as a baby. I always felt the staff caring for him were heavily invested in making sure the children had a great time, which as a parent was lovely and very reassuring to see! I also always felt valued and listened to as a parent. Praise also to the management team for working so hard to keep the busy nursery moving forward in a positive way. The rural setting is also just beautiful; it's so lovely seeing the cows in the neighbouring fields. My son loved saying hello to them each day! I'm certain I'll have positive memories of High Hopes for years to come, as will my children.

Headstart used to be a great family run business. However, since being taken over by Bright Stars nursery group in the autumn of 2023; owned by investment firm Oakley Capital; the service provision has deteriorated, fees have increased and the majority of permanent staff have resigned, leaving a bank

of agency staff whom I'm sure are great but offer little to no continuity of care for children or parents. The nursery can feel chaotic, communication is poor and needless to say any perks, trips or individualised care have disappeared. You may get an update on your child once a quarter, and each child seems to have the same key worker in each room (due to the low level of permanent staff, I imagine.) I appreciate the new government childcare provisions must have stretched nurseries and honestly hope Bright Stars manage to sort the issues out at Headstart. This will be the last week for my son as we are moving him to an alternative childcare provider, as are others.

Our daughter (24 months) has been attending this lovely nursery from April 2024, starting in the Baby Room, and she is currently in Tweenies.
Every member of staff has been amazing with her. We have never had any concerns, they have always been transparent with us. If any incidents or accidents have

taken place involving our little girl, we have always had a phone call to let us know.
Our toddler loves going to nursery and she's delighted every morning when she walks in, she almost doesn't turn to say bye to her daddy as she is so excited!
The manager does a great job keeping us parents on the loop with what is happening in the nursery, and we love that they encourage us to participate in different activities as a family.
Our little girl is being raised as bilingual and they have been really supportive with this. They sometimes play nursery rhymes in Spanish in class for her, they have asked her dad to come read a story to all the children, etc.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Footsteps!
As this nursery has such a thorough settling in process, our daughter has settled in for her very first day thanks to her amazing room key person(s) and hasn't looked back since.

Her confidence has soared in each room, she looks forward to

seeing the staff each day and barely waves as she runs through the door.

Each day is filled with creative activities that she can't wait to tell me about when I pick her up. It feels like a true community, where children are encouraged, celebrated, and loved. Communication with parents is fantastic, and we always feel informed and involved.

Overall Experience

Firstly, the nursery itself is the best I have seen with an open plan layout, unlimited activities and toys and an absolutely incredible outdoor area for the children where they spend lots of time in the fresh air. The food is all homemade daily, and offers a great selection which my child absolutely

loves. Secondly the staff are absolutely incredible, my child has moved through rooms and received so much support during room transition to help him feel at ease and settle in. The staff spend a huge amount of time focusing on personal development and needs of each child and update you weekly what they are working in class and what the a focusing on with you child in particular, lots of learning and encouragement activities aswell as fun playtime. My child's development, confidence has been so amazing to see on the back of his time at the nursery and he is so happy every morning heading in with a huge smile on his face excited to see his key workers and friends.

£30 a day for food... for a 1 year old. Just a reminder, all nurseries receiving government funding must:
- Be completely transparent about any additional charges when a parent first takes up their child's free place, for example, for those parents opting to purchase additional hours or additional

services.
- Deliver the free entitlements consistently, so that all children within a setting accessing any of the free entitlements receive the same quality and access to provision, regardless of whether they choose to pay for optional hours, services, meals or consumables.
- Ensure that all parents, including disadvantaged families, have fair access to a free place, which must be delivered completely free of charge and do not charge parents "top-up" fees (any difference between a provider's normal charge to parents and the funding they receive from the local authority to deliver free places). The Quality of the teaching is great though.
