Little Oaks Nursery

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
When searching for nurseries, we were very specific about the care we wanted our daughter to have. With starting nursery at 6 months, we wanted to ensure she got the right attention, care and support for her age, and Little Oaks had exceeded all those expectations.

Since joining, we have seen such

incredible growth in our daughter, physically and emotionally, a lot of which we put down to the care she has received, with her key worker coming up with specific activities to aid her development.

The nursery has also been great at supporting us through our weaning journey, and we have seen significant changes in our daughter's interests in food recently, with her eating a wide range of foods.

Lastly, the staff, her key workers, & nursery manager have been amazing. They all treat her with so much care. My daughter is so smiley and happy whenever we drop her off and have no concerns that she is well looked after by them all. She truly has formed a great bond with them all!

Without a hesitation we would recommend this nursery. Our daughter has been going to Little Rooks since June 2024 and she has enjoyed every second of it. We has tried 2 other nurseries in the area and so glad we moved to Little Rooks as we could notice a difference in weeks of her being there. The staff
are all lovely and work with parents rather than stringent rules other nurseries can adopt. They have given her a fantastic start to her learning, people are always shocked she is only 4.

We were impressed when viewing the nursery and booked it 10 months in advance, to ensure we started in September. By then, we were a little more anxious about how our child would transition from their first nursery. However, the process was really positive, and it's the best decision we made. I feel
as if our child has been challenged in a safe and creative way. As parents, we feel less anxious about transitioning to school now. The swimming lessons have been fantastic, as well as the forest school. I feel as if there's a lot of exposure to develop new skills.

My daughter has attended WHS Nursery since 2023, and the difference compared to our previous nursery has been remarkable. After experiencing genuine concerns elsewhere, it has been a relief and a joy to watch my daughter truly flourish here. Her confidence, wellbeing, and personal development have grown
enormously, which I strongly attribute to the caring, attentive, and hardworking staff.
WHS Nursery offers an excellent range of enriching activities, including dance, forest school, French, sports, and music, alongside community visits to the local library and an annual Christmas visit to the local nursing home. Maths and phonics are thoughtfully woven into the curriculum through play-based learning, making education both engaging and effective. We have 2 annual parent/staff meetings and if any issues arise in-between we're encouraged to get in touch. I couldn't be happier with our choice and I would highly recommend the nursery to parents seeking a new nursery.
Reply from Michelle Kimberley, Manager at Westbury House NurseryThank you for your review and comments. It is lovely being part of the school community where we can access a broad range of additional Professional support, enhancing our curriculum and opportunities for all children who attend.

I couldn't be more over the moon with how my child has settled at Little Oaks. The staff have been wonderful in helping him settle in and really grow and develop.

You can tell there is a strong understanding of key factors in helping them develop, his cognition has greatly improved aiding his speech

and overall understanding.

Not only that, they have been on numerous trips which is fantastic for toddlers to get out in the world and see other people, especially going to see a Christmas pantomime!

The staff are all wonderful and so helpful, especially if we have any questions or needs that need to be met.

Moving him here was one of the best decisions we've made!

Incredible nursery. The staff team are all highly skilled and lovely to deal with. They provide exactly the right balance of care and learning and are clearly passionate about what they do. There's is a rich early years curriculum which clearly benefits from being attached to the school, including gymnastics,
multisports, music, French and forest school. Plus dance for a small extra fee. The communication is also excellent and any concerns are dealt with promptly. My son was incredibly well prepared for starting school and my daughter loves going in every day.

Our son is in the baby room (the Nest) and has a wonderful time here. The babies have a structured day and do lots of activities including baking, painting and daily walks outside. There seems to be a good variety of food each day and he always comes home exhausted, which I take as a very positive

It's great to know the structured day and activities like baking, painting, and outdoor walks are making a positive impact. We also take pride in offering a varied menu, so it's wonderful to hear that's noticed too. Coming home happy and tired is definitely a sign of a fun-filled day!
We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know it means a lot to myself and the team.

Little Saints is an incredible nursery, and I cannot speak highly enough of it.
It's clear the staff are not only extremely friendly, but also deeply passionate about what they do. There is a genuine sense of compassion, warmth, and care shown to each and every child, which gives real peace of mind
as a parent.
The range of activities provided each day is fantastic. The children are constantly engaged in fun, and age-appropriate learning experiences that clearly support their development. It's wonderful to see how much thought and creativity goes into planning the daily activities.
Communication is also excellent. The regular updates, complete with photos, are such a lovely touch and really help you feel connected, seeing what the little ones are getting up to! Furthermore End of term reviews on children's development are fantastic.
I truly couldn't recommend highly enough.

We moved our little boy (2.5 year old) to this nursery in September 2025 and right from the start we knew it was the best thing we could have done. From day 1 the nursery staff were brilliant. They were so caring and welcoming, took the time to get to know our little boy, and they went above and beyond
to help settle him. From setting up activity stations tailored to his interests, to taking him for a walk across the grounds to see the ducks, the care and individual attention has been great. We're very impressed by the effort and activities they do with him each day, and he comes out every day saying 'I love it there'! Our boy has formed a great bond with his key worker which makes it easier to leave him and makes us trust that he's being well cared for - thank you! Overall we're really impressed and relieved to have found somewhere that we love. Thank you to all the staff who have helped our boy settle, it makes such a difference to feel like he's genuinely cared for.
Reply from Monica Kumar, Nursery Manager at Little Oaks NurseryThank you so much for the kind words, it is very encouraging to read that parents are appreciating all the care our staff team is providing.

Westbury House Nursery

Things this nursery does well:
1) instilling good, kind values e.g. sharing, caring and empathy
2) encouraging creativity and confidence
3) teaching respect for rules and order
4) teaching good manners, polite communication, importance of turn taking.

Things this nursery doesn't do well:
1)

meals don't meet needs of special diets though lots of fresh fruit
2) outdoor space is very limited and, after repeated postponement, forest school has failed to launch this term at all
3) management is disorganised (miscalculated fees, delayed replies to email, cancelled appointments at late notice)
4) my child spent an afternoon with their own faeces visibly smeared on the outside of their trousers and on their white socks and shoes. I saw and smelt it immediately upon pick up but staff hadn't notice it. //

I find it strange that parents aren't
allowed into the nursery but have to drop off/pick up at the main door. I would like to see the everyday environment my child spends their time in.

Reply from Michelle Kimberley, Manager at Westbury House NurseryThank you for taking the time to send us the review of your experience. We take all feedback very seriously and apologise that you feel this way and you have had a negative experience.
Our aim is to provide the best possible environment for all children. We take pride in our nurturing and educational setting within a small Prep School. The site is suitable for the capacity of the Nursery and School, of which would have been seen during the enrolment and tour process. We are fortunate to have an on site Chef and catering team who meet the EY nutritional guidelines and are reviewed termly with the Parent Committee, the menus are available and shared with all families during the enrolment process.
We don't have a record of any formal complaints made by yourself, I would be very happy to arrange a meeting with myself and the Senior Leadership Team to further discuss.
Thank you again for your time.

We were nervous, but it started off well with lots of reassurances. Then issues started to stack up over the 3 weeks that our 13 month old boy was here.
1. They assured us the chef was a baby nutritionist. The food that was given to our boy was poor. Chocolate mouse, ice cream, doughnuts, cakes. One
time we picked him up they gave us a fish cake to take. It was a cheap frozen one. We complained, they said changes would be made. Ok.
2. The 3rd week they changed his key worker without introducing/notifying us & his care went downhill rapidly. Notes on app were wrong, his nappy wasn't changed for 6-7 hours. They denied this, but his bum was so red/sore when we got home.
3. We came to collect him early that day due to the nappy issue & we saw he was left crying on his own by the window. When they saw us coming they looked stressed, rushed over to him & made up a story. Something was off.
More issues, but this is the most I can write on here & we withdrew our son as our trust was broken.
Reply from Monica Kumar, Nursery Manager at Little Oaks NurseryWe are truly sorry to hear that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. The wellbeing and care of every child in our nursery is always our top priority, and we take all feedback very seriously.
We did offer to meet and discuss your concerns in detail, as sometimes things that are seen or presumed can be misunderstood without full context. Unfortunately, you chose not to take up the opportunity to talk further. We believe that open communication is the best way to resolve any issues, as it allows both sides of the situation to be heard and understood.
We regret that you feel your trust was broken and that your time with us ended this way. We wish you and your family all the best for the future and hope your little one continues to thrive in their next setting.

Very happy with the nursery so far, they have contributed well to my daughter's development and settled her in so beautifully. The food is brilliant and they offer a wide variety. My daughter never comes home dirty or unhappy, they take such good care of her and ensure she's happy.
I'd like her to
get outdoors a little more, now there is astroturf and I have supplied wellies and an all in one I feel she would enjoy this.

Our son has been attending for a month now and we couldn't be more pleased with our choice of nursery for him. Everyone we have met has made such a special effort to help him settle in well and help the transition of what could have been a difficult time. The team in the Fledglings room are incredibly
kind and patient. The nursery host events & keep you informed which has helped us already feel like part of the community and shows their genuine care and compassion for what they do. Couldn't recommend Little Robins enough!

Could not recommend Little Rooks enough! The staff are so friendly and truly do want the very best for our precious little ones. Our little girl used to struggle going to nursery but since moving her to Little Rooks she runs in through the door chatting about what she is going to do during the day,
we hear so much from her about how happy she is and she is showing so much progress in her developing skills! We would recommend Little Rooks to anyone now!

Lovely staff, good feedback/hand overs. Nice to have a slightly older/more mature staff team than at our previous nursery.
Everyone seems very on the ball with care needs, especially allergy worries.
Friendly and just genuinely excited to see the kids everyday. :)
