I was hesitant to put my three year old into a nursery setting following two years at home being cared for by a nanny but the staff at cornerhouse immediately put those worries to rest. They are absolutely fantastic with our daughter and the setting is great. They have such a huge outdoor area which
our daughter adores and it means she's always doing something different and exciting. Danielle leads the pre school team wonderfully which makes for a very engaging environment. The staff are all so creative with the fun activities and lessons that they teach. Our daughter eats well and is always full of stories when she comes home which just shows how much she loves her days at the nursery. Steph really has made such wonderful changes since we first viewed the nursery and we look forward to sending our second child to the nursery when she's older.
Reply from Jenni McDougall, Operations Project Manager at Corner House Nursery GillslandThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Were so pleased to hear that we were able to put your mind at ease during what can be a big transition, and that your daughter has settled in so happily with us.
Its wonderful to know how much she is enjoying her time hereespecially making the most of our outdoor space and coming home full of stories about her day. Thats exactly what we hope for every child in our care.
Well be sure to pass on your kind words to Danielle, Steph, and the whole team. They work incredibly hard to create a nurturing, engaging, and creative environment, so your feedback means a great deal to them.
Thank you again for your trust and support. Were delighted to hear that youre considering us for your second child in the futureit truly means a lot to be part of your familys journey.

I have used this nursery for all 3 of my children since 2018 and they have all thrived. The staff are exceptionally warm, caring and know all the children well. The management team, Charmaine and Lynda, have always been very responsive and accommodating wherever possible. Keyworkers are invested in
individual children and have helped us decide on the right time to send to school among other challenges. They strive to have them outdoors as much as possible and do many activities with them including seasonal/holiday related crafts etc.
Reply from Jenni McDougall, Operations Project Manager at Kirkintilloch Nature KindergartenThank you so much for your wonderful review and for trusting us with all three of your children over the years. It truly means a lot to hear how positively your familys experience has been since 2018.
Were delighted that youve felt supported by our team, and well be sure to pass on your kind words to Charmaine, Lynda, and all of our staff. Building strong relationships with both children and families is at the heart of what we do, so its especially rewarding to know youve felt that care and connection.
Its lovely to hear that the children have thrived and enjoyed the wide range of activities, especially outdoor play and seasonal crafts. Supporting each childs individual journeyincluding important milestones like the transition to schoolis something were very passionate about.
Thank you again for your continued support and for being such a valued part of our nursery community.

Our baby, now almost 11 months, has been attending this nursery since he was just under 5 months old. He has a great time, and the staff have been brilliant.
In a recent stay-and-play, where parents were invited to come in and play for an hour, my son was less interested in playing with me than in
having a cuddle with one of the nursery managers. It just goes to show the wonderful secure attachments he is building with the staff due to their responsive care and nurturing. While I was there, watching how they dealt with the young babies sharing toys had me coming away feeling I'd learned a healthy approach to mirror at home.
As we have been weaning, I've really appreciated how accommodating the nursery have been with our dietary requests. At every step they've been happy to meet him where he is on his journey.
I'm grateful that whenever I see interactions between my son and the staff, they engage him, speak to him and pay attention when he tries to express his thoughts.
Reply from Jenni McDougall, Operations Project Manager at Kirkintilloch Nature KindergartenThank you so much for your lovely review. Were delighted to hear how happy your son is and that he's building such strong, secure relationships with our team.
Its great that you enjoyed the stay-and-play session and found it helpful to see how we support the children's development. Were also pleased you've felt supported during weaning we always aim to work closely with families and meet each child's individual needs.
Thank you for trusting us with his care it truly means a lot.

The nursery serves the University of Manchester. It is prominently advertised to staff and came highly recommended when we signed up our child.
Our child attended the nursery January 2025 to January 2026. Our initial experiences were good, despite a difficult settling-in period, and we were impressed
with the experience and dedication of the staff in the Toddler room, but less so with the Early Years settings and an overall lack of leadership.
The nursery has seen a prolonged period of change since September 2025, which involved the resignation of the management team and a significant amount of permanent staff, and an increased reliance on agency staff. Ofsted has served a number of well-fare notices since December 2025, some of which are still outstanding, and has carried out several inspections, along with visits from the Local Authority. While we acknowledge that some efforts are being made to address the concerns, we currently would not recommend the nursery.
Reply from Jenni McDougall, Operations Project Manager at Holyrood Nursery Dryden StreetThank you for taking the time to share your experience. Were really sorry to hear that your confidence in the nursery has been impacted, particularly during a period of significant change.
We truly value your kind words about the Toddler Room team, and we recognise the concerns youve raised around leadership, staffing changes, and consistency of care. This has been a challenging time for the nursery, and we understand how unsettling this can feel for families.
Please be assured that we are taking all feedback and external guidance, including from Ofsted and the Local Authority, very seriously. Strengthening our leadership, rebuilding a stable staff team, and ensuring the highest standards of care and safety are our absolute priorities.
We appreciate your honesty and the time your child spent with us, and we are committed to making the improvements needed to rebuild trust with our families.

Choosing the right nursery for your children is such a big decision as a parent, and I truly feel so grateful that we found this one. Both of my sons attend and they absolutely love it, which gives me so much reassurance and peace of mind.
The staff are incredibly kind, patient and nurturing, and it's
clear they genuinely care about the children. They create such a warm, safe and welcoming environment where the children feel valued and supported.
Since starting here, I've seen wonderful progress in both of my boys, not only with their learning but also in their confidence and friendships. It's been so lovely to watch them grow.
Thank you to the whole team for the care, love and dedication you show every single day. Knowing my children are somewhere they feel safe and happy means the world to me.

The nursery are always welcoming in the mornings, if my child ever goes into the playroom unsettled i will receive an update/reassurance once she has settled and even a smiley picture on days staff can facilitate this.
Staff always update the app to allow me to track sleeps/meals to plan accordingly

Holyrood truly is an amazing nursery. As first-time parents, we were so nervous about leaving our daughter, but we really didn't need to be. It's a relaxed, nurturing environment that reassures both children and parents. I always felt calm and confident leaving her in their capable care.
The babies
team and management are wonderful - so warm and welcoming. In the 7 months she attended, our daughter came on in leaps and bounds. Unfortunately, we moved house and Holyrood became too far away.
At drop-off and pick-up, staff always listened and provided detailed updates - especially Donna in babies, who gave a lovely rundown of each day. The education is phenomenal and shines through in the children. The app updates, including regular photos, are a joy to receive.
We're still so sad to have left such a fantastic nursery.
We still miss you Holyrood - Lilliannas Mum x
Reply from Jenni McDougall, Operations Project Manager at Holyrood Nursery SwintonThank you so much for your wonderful review, Lillianna's Mum. It truly means the world to us that you trusted us with Lillianna during such an important stage of her early years. We know how nerve-wracking it can feel leaving your child for the first time, so we're delighted that our team could help you feel calm and confident.
Our Babies Team and management will be so pleased to hear your kind words, and Donna will especially love knowing how much you appreciated her daily updates. It was such a pleasure to watch Lillianna grow and develop during her time with us - she really did come on in leaps and bounds.
We're so sad that distance means you had to move on, but we're incredibly grateful that Holyrood could be part of your family's journey for those 7 months. Please remember you'll always be part of the Holyrood family, and we'd love to hear how Lillianna is getting on.
Sending our very best wishes to you both, and thank you again for such a heartfelt review.

The staff have been brilliant and meeting the needs of the child. Child really seems to enjoy themselves once they are settled in. However, one area which could really be improved is the updates. Some days we don't get key updates (i.e. what food, nappies and naps) all which are needed to know for the
child's care. Otherwise there are absolutely no complaints, the team are brilliant and caring and the child really enjoys themselves!

Both our girls go to Happitots. (Age 2 &3) They both love nursery days. They have both developed so well in there time here, they have formed great bonds with the staff and other children. The staff really go out there way to help kids settle in. After each day our girls come home and tell us what
they have done that day from science to arts and crafts its always very varied. Our 2 year old can even do the full alphabet which she has learned at happitots.

My daughter has been going here for over 18 months and she loves it. The staff are beyond amazing, they are accommodating and considerate of issues at home and help work with my daughter to resolve them and make her more confident in day to day life. My only negative would be that the pre school garden
could do with some love and attention regarding the bark chipping as has become a mud pit from over the winter.
