Children 1st Derby Road Nursery School

My 16-month-old son started full-time in May and is so happy. He is loved, cared for and nurtured every day by the amazing staff at Children 1st @ Derby Road. We get lovely updates from the team and our boy is very very content. Thank you for making it so easy for me to go back to work!

Overall, a good nursery setting.

Children 1st - Derby Road is a wonderful Nursery and learning environment. Our daughter has been attending the nursery for around 17 months since she was 11 months old, and she looks forward to seeing her peers and key workers every day she is there. All of the staff are kind, caring and approachable and have a lovely manner with the children. Thank you for being wonderful, we are so lucky to have found such a lovely place for our daughter to get the best start in her learning journey!

Fantastic nursery setting. My daughter has advanced so much since beginning here, including socially, physically, intellectually and with her communication. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to others.

I have used this nursery for my three children, my youngest is now in the early years room. All the staff are wonderful with the children, it has always felt safe and comfortable I have never had any problems and the staff clearly care so much for the children and their jobs. In the early years, my son has learnt so much already and will be very ready for school thanks to the staff. The nursery is currently having a renovation and it is looking wonderful. No other place I'd send my children.

Children 1st @ Derby Road is a fantastic nursery. I wouldn't send my children anywhere else. The staff take the time to really get to know the children and their personalities. My son regularly talks about the new things he's learnt at nursery as well as the fun activities he's done. Great place for children to learn and grow.

My daughter and I love the nursery. All the staff are so lovely and welcoming so highly recommend them. When my friends and family ask about nursery I have nothing but good words to say to them. My daughter loves nursery and always has, but since being at this nursery my daughter has grown up so much. She's happy and can't wait to get to nursery the following day.

The staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome. The staff are amazing with the children. The nursery is always clean and you can tell they take pride in their work. It always seems the children are happy whilst there thanks to the staff. My child hates leaving me however, once there, absolutely loves it. She has really settled there as she has really good bonds with the teachers and has made a few more friends now.

Excellent nursery, facilities and staff. Great communication from all areas. My son has been coming for a while and throughly enjoys his time here. Great nutritional meals at meal times. I would highly recommend this nursery.

I cannot praise and recommend this nursery enough! They are amazing in every way possible. They really care for the children that attend there. My son has been going there for nearly a year and has settled in so well, he runs into nursery every morning with so much excitement to see his friends and ladies (Gentlemen) and has come on so much with his speech and creativeness.

The nursery has been a great place for my son to learn and play. He has been supported greatly by staff and staff have also helped us as parents. My sons development, not just educational but personal, has been amazing since he started in April 2022. I cant thank the staff enough for what they do.

My son has settled into the nursery wonderfully. People in the nursery are great with him and he's taken to them brilliantly. Children 1st @ Derby Road is an outstanding nursery! My son has been attending since he was 10 months old he's now 2 years. The staff are so knowledgeable about child development, as well as being warm and caring towards the children (and parents!). Last year my son was seriously unwell in hospital and had several weeks away from nursery. The staff were amazing in supporting him to return when he was well enough and even sent a card and gift to him in hospital. The children eat well balanced freshly cooked food by the in house cook and get involved in so many games, activities and themed days and weeks. The communication between the nursery and parents is great, using their own app to record diary entries and sending messages through the online portal. My son has really grown in confidence and developed so much since attending the nursery. He loves spending time with his friends and 100% of the time has a huge smile on his face when he's collected.

Very enthusiastic staff. My child really enjoys going to this nursery and has been developing quickly. Good communication via the daily diary and development logs. Frequent photo updates via the app are great.

I couldn’t recommend the nursery enough and wouldn’t choose to go anywhere else.

At home we (attempt to) replicate the principles: kind hands, sharing is caring, indoor voices. I welcome the introduction of cultural celebrations, allowing children to explore diversity. Thanks for helping them develop and constantly supporting me too!

My little girl goes to Children 1st Day Nursy. As my first, I was so worried and scared but the manager and the team are great at keeping me up to date on how she is doing, her food, mood etc. on the day and her development. She's been at the nursery for a year now and I can't get over how much she has picked up and learned. The team always are happy to see her and really make her feel special and included. Would recommend to anyone.
