Children 1st Derby Road Nursery School

My son has been attending this nursery for the past 18 months and has progressed through three different rooms during that time. The development we've seen in him since he started has been incredible, and he truly loves being there.

The staff are warm, friendly, and always approachable. They're happy to answer any questions and consistently provide a wide range of fun and engaging activities for the children.

Although my son still finds drop-offs a little difficult at times, the team are always there to support him and help make the transition as smooth as possible. It's reassuring to see that this is gradually improving.

I especially appreciate the regular updates we receive about his day, along with photos. It gives me real peace of mind knowing that he's happy and well cared for while I'm at work. Fantastic experience so far, thank you!

Our daughter has been at this nursery for 15 months now and she loves it. We've felt so supported by the team throughout the different stages of her development (e.g. learning to eat meals/ potty training etc). Every room has a fantastic team who really get to know your child. The management team are wonderful and very quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend. Our daughter loves her nursery days and as parents we feel relaxed and happy that she is in such a safe and nurturing environment.

I love this nursery I have recommended this nursery to many of my friends. When me and my husband reviewed this nursery we felt like it was a homely environment for our daughter. She has moved up three rooms and each one has shown to put each child at the centre of what they do. Her development has come on leaps and bounds.

We continue to believe this is the best place for our child to continue to develop.

Her key worker is absolutely incredible and puts my mind at ease with daily photo updates.

Children 1st have adapted in every way to support her and I couldn't be happier with how far she's coming on.

Excellent communication between room leaders, staff and us as parents. Our child has clearly advanced with her speech and language skills alongside her independence because of the nursery. They helped us with toilet training and that eased a lot of stress for us as parents. Our child also is very stimulated in her room because of the variety of activities she takes part in.

Absolutely amazing nursery, can't fault the nursery at all. They go above and beyond for your child/ren but also you. My middle daughter has been there since 5 months old and my youngest is due to start soon. I would recommend the nursery to anyone.

Staff are friendly and helpful, my two boys are super happy here. The updates are great with regular photos and information on food and activities. The play spaces are creative and bright and always clean. The children look happy and engaged it serves as a great prep for the primary school environment.

My son has been attending this setting for nearly 2 years now.

- Activities covering EYFS downstairs.

- They dont have the menu on the app anymore.

No setting is perfect but the most important thing is that they listen and act upon the concerns and wants of the parents tailoring the care and education to meet the individual needs of each child which is what they strive to do.

Amazing nursery, the staff are so caring and friendly and it really has a family atmosphere. Couldn't ask for better care for my children when I am at work. My child loves her time here and always looks forward to seeing her friends and the staff that work here. I feel like she has the best care she could get in a nursery setting.

They have been great with my daughter since she started. She has a dairy allergy which they have been accommodating for. Like the photos and videos they put on the app. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nursery.

This is a wonderful nursery, staff are really friendly as soon as you walk in the door. My daughter loves coming here, her keyworkers are fantastic and supportive. My daughter took her first steps here. Would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

Children 1st Derby Road continues to be an excellent nursery with friendly, helpful staff, safe outdoor areas with lots to do, and varied activities. The nursery serves a wide range of healthy dishes to the children and they get the opportunity to learn how to feed themselves and learn table manners. This nursery has really accelerated my girls progress and they are happy and healthy!

I have 2 boys who attend Children 1st, they both started from the age of 12 months and we couldn't be happier with the care they receive whilst at nursery. Our eldest who will be 4 in August had a speech delay and the support given to him has helped so much that we are confident he will thrive at school even though he will be the youngest in his year. Every member of staff at this nursery is amazing, not just the staff in the rooms providing direct care but the cleaner, the cooks and everyone else! They all interact with the babies and children and clearly have so much genuine care and love for every child there. A good nursery is so important to for good development of children in those early years and I honestly feel we picked the best around. Thank you for looking after our boys so well xx
