Children 1st Derby Road Nursery School

Fantastic nursery, my 1-year-old is so happy here and loves his key workers, I know they are all amazing with him. He's come on so well since joining. He eats well and is cared for to a high standard and has learnt so much.

Lovely nursery, with polite and helpful staff who go above and beyond for the children in their care and really do put children first. My daughter is happy and thriving at Children 1st @ Derby Road Day Nursery and has been very settled moving from rabbits to early years.

Excellent nursery. Both my children have attended this nursery since they were under 1 and the care and support to their learning have been outstanding. The staff go the extra mile to ensure they get the best out of the children and develop great lasting relationships. Both my children are now in school but we continue to use the nursery for after school care and holiday club and both of these services they provide continue to be outstanding and I personally think the best in the local area.

Teachers and staff are kind and friendly, though we just have three hours in school daily, my son enjoys the time in the nursery. He learns a lot and has great fun with his friends, teachers are enthusiastic!

Brilliant staff, very caring and understanding, my daughter has come along so well and is always happy to attend nursery and to see all of the staff and pupils. Excellent nursery! Would definitely recommend to friends and family as my daughter comes home happy with lots of stories from playing in the outdoor area as well as the indoor area with varied activities.

Our little boy is extremely happy at Children 1st @ Derby Road Day Nursery, he has grown so quickly in confidence and is very attached to the lovely staff who are so caring to him. Their activities are well thought out and our son enjoys them all very much. We feel that the staff genuinely care a great deal about all the children in their nursery and the rapport they have with the parents and children makes this clear to see. We would recommend this fantastic nursery to everyone, thank you to all the wonderful staff!

We are really happy with how our daughter is developing, especially with the difficulties faced in the last two years. She is always happy when she returns so we know she is well looked after. Despite not being able to enter the building, we always feel involved and connected with what she is up to. All the staff are friendly, the variety of activities are great and the quality of the food and general care is first-class.

The staff are so lovely and friendly, they make my little boy feel relaxed and happy. If he feels sad they are always able to perk him up. His development and speech has come along massively and his ability to express himself.

The sing-along at the carols around the tree event was a beautiful evening, so nice to see everyone join in and having the added extra of a hot chocolate and treat was an amazing touch. My son loved singing along. Nursery have done themselves proud on how lovely the evening was presented. Couldn't recommend them more highly. 10/10. Amazing nursery.

Children’s First @ Derby Road Day Nursery is an outstanding provider. They have nurtured and cared for my little boy for just over a year now and he continues to grow in confidence. They have outstanding facilities, well-resourced rooms and knowledgeable staff. All staff are friendly and have a caring approach. They are approachable and always there to offer advice and answer any queries. They are sensitive and supportive in difficult times. Thank you for the care you continue to provide.

Children 1st @ Derby Road Day Nursery is an outstanding nursery! The love and care they show all the children (and their families) is incredible! We honestly believe we could not be as successful and have such content and happy children at any other nursery! I could not recommend them enough!

Lovely staff members and excellent nursery. My child is enjoying the time to be creative and learn new things. I enjoy hearing about her day when I go to collect her and reading her reports from the day.

Our 2-year-old loves nursery, similar to our eldest who went previously. She can’t wait to go every day. The staff and setting are lovely, and during Covid, it was all handled very well, I thought, with regular updates. Highly recommended.

The nursery is excellent. My son has a range of allergies and the nursery has been fantastic in their care for him since his first day with them. He has a well-controlled diet with the nursery, and they are constantly looking for new ways to feed him exciting foods, so he does not feel left out and take their responsibility seriously in making sure he is safe. The facilities at the nursery are excellent and well engaging to develop and nurture his progression before he goes to school. The staff are excellent, and you can see the genuine affection they have for the children they are looking after.

My little boy (14 months) has just started Childrens 1st @ Derby Road Day Nursery and he is loving it! The staff are all so friendly and caring and I can see that he is already loved by everyone there! I love the updates every day and the pictures taken of him exploring new things and settling in well. Couldn’t fault the nursery at all, they are all lovely and all of the children seem very happy! Would definitely recommend!

My daughter absolutely loves going into nursery and is always excited when she realises where she is. The staff have been so supportive of me and my daughter. They have really supported us with developmental concerns and helped us with referrals. My daughter has so much fun in all the activities she does and I love it when we get sent through photos. Always recommend nursery when my friends ask.

My son really enjoys his time at nursery, he is always happy to walk in and enjoys the activities provided. The staff are always very friendly when we are greeted at the door. We are kept well informed via the nursery diary and love getting photo's through the app.

I was incredibly anxious (like most mums) when my little boy started nursery however the ladies at Children 1st Derby Road were so supportive and not only helped him to settle in exceptionally well, but also help me feel confident and secure. He has developed such strong connections with the staff working here and the ladies are so wonderful with him. His confidence has increased significantly during his time here and it's such a pleasure to see. During lockdown we were delighted to find that the ladies had been helping develop potty training during the day and this was an unexpected bonus.

My only feedback is that sometimes communication could be a little better. There have been occasions where room moves have been imminent and we weren't fully aware of this however this is just a minor thing and actually we have generally had smooth transitions throughout age groups.

But overall, thank you all so much for everything you do!
