Children 1st Meir Park Nursery School has been refurbished to provide a bright, spacious and stimulating environment for babies, toddlers and pre-school children from birth to five years. The nursery also provides a flexible after-school club for children aged five to twelve years.

A friendly and enthusiastic team of early years staff are fully trained and experienced to give each child the best care and attention they require to meet their developmental milestones.

The nursery features age-appropriate rooms that lead onto a spacious outdoor garden which has been designed to provide a rich learning experience with carefully chosen, age-specific equipment.

A nutritionally balanced menu is provided by the on-site chef who caters for any specific dietary requirements.

The nursery also offers funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.

Brilliant nursery . My son really regressed after having a couple of months off but the minute he has gone back I've seen positive changes. He has brilliant relationships with staff and other children.

My son has been attending this nursery for over a year and I cannot fault the nursery in any way. All the staff are fantastic! They keep you well informed of progress your child is making throughout and even just what they have been up to and have eaten from day to day. Nothing is too much trouble!
They listen, understand, are caring and passionate about the job they do. It shows with how happy my son has been at nursery and I wish he wasn't leaving yet. I trust their judgment and they have always called me about things I may want to know about when he has been there. The nursery have an app they use which is brilliant in updating you on activities they do and how their learning has progressed. My son has come on so well since attending nursery, in his confidence, socialising, eating and learning and I really do believe it's down to how brilliant they all are!

My child returned to the nursery on 29th June and he has absolutely loved it. He was only at the nursery a week before lockdown so it was almost like his first week all over again but wouldn't have thought it when dropping him off. He's settled so incredibly well and I think that's down to the staff
and how they are with the children. His face lights up when they greet him in the morning. His development has come on leaps and bounds since his return and we are just so thankful that he is in safe hands with them. We would recommend the nursery to anyone who is looking locally and considering their options. It's the best decision we made. We would like to especially thank 2 members of staff in particular who have established such a lovely relationship with him in such a short space of time. And to the managers, who dedicate their time to getting to know each child and making them feel safe and loved.

We are so pleased to find a nursery that we trust. My son has been with this nursery for three months and the process has been so easy. The ladies who look after my son on a daily basis are an absolute pleasure, they make me feel confident that my child's needs are being met whilst I am at work. My
son goes off and plays and has the confidence to show his character and is developing well socially. We fell in love with this nursery the moment we visited, the outdoor space, the large and bright rooms and the staff were all invested in ensuring that your child has what they need and has a great time whilst they are there.

My little boy has been going to this nursery since 4-months-old, it is every mother's worry leaving their babies and going back to work but the staff here are so lovely. They completely put my mind at rest whilst I'm at work and I feel happy with the level of care he receives.

I'm so happy with my daughter's progress and development since joining in August 2019. The staff are absolutely amazing, they're all so invested in the upbringing of the kids and my daughter loves her time at nursery. She's always happy to go there and never wants to leave. I completely trust the carers
to look after her while she's there. I would highly recommend this nursery, the level of care and education is outstanding!

My son attends this nursery twice a week, and it's the best decision I ever made. He always comes home happy. They do amazing activities and cater to him and what he likes to do. The food is amazing, and we have received all the menus on offer. The staff are welcoming, and nothing is ever too much.
My son takes numerous medications, and they have been absolutely brilliant, nothing has ever been too much. Couldn't think of a better group of people to take care of my son while I'm working. Thank you to all the staff at this nursery, they really are incredible.

Great nursery with fantastic staff. My son has been attending from six months and he absolutely loves it. Nothing is too much of a problem for staff, the facilities are exceptional and the varied menu caters for all (including my fussy piglet!)

My son quickly settled in at the nursery and is clearly very happy there. My older son also loved his time there in the school holiday. The staff are friendly yet professional and very competent, allowing me to feel confident that my son is being cared for to the highest standard whilst my husband and
I are at work. They also have excellent facilities, a visible managerial presence, open lines of communication (via verbal handover at pickup/drop off, a daily diary and eylog) and offer a varied menu.

I could not he happier with this nursery!
Each and every member of staff are all so kind, friendly, helpful and my kids adore them all.
They really do go out of there way to make each day special each child is encouraged and cared for as well as they could be. I can’t believe the effort they put into
plays and special occasions, they really go out of their way to involve each child and make them all a big part of what’s happening. They also made me cry my eyes out when they held the graduation play and ceremony, it was honestly one of the loveliest things I’ve been to, with special memories shared and lovely keepsakes to treasure forever. My oldest leaves this year, but 2 of my children will still attend. I wouldn’t even consider sending them anywhere else!!
I am truly grateful to the manager and all the team for all their hard work! It really doesn't go unnoticed.

My child has attended Children 1st @ Meir Park since he was 9 months old. The development milestones he has achieved and social skills he displays are due to not only home development but with his key workers at nursery. Since the visit to Meir Park, both me and my little boy have always been made to
feel welcomed and valued. The communications sent by the nursery team with the daily activities are a comforting reminder that I'm able to leave my child knowing he is safe and in great hands.

I would recommend Meir Park Day Nursery. Our son has attended this nursery from the age of 9 months and he is now 10 years of age. The management goes from strength to strength, it wouldn't be right not to mention the lady who is the front of the nursery. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the team

My son has been coming to Meir Park nursery since he was 7 months old and it’s the best decision we ever made. From day one, all of the nursery staff have been extremely welcoming to both me and my son. My little boy comes home and tells me what activities he has been doing and is always happy when
sharing his nursery stories with mum and dad. The range of food he has is incredible and all fresh.
A special Thank you to the manager and the team, I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to look after my boy whilst I am at work.
I 100% recommend this nursery.


We chose this nursery because my partner's children went there over 10 years ago and it’s still amazing now, with many of the same staff still remaining which says everything to me.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2006

Hi my name is Sara Allen and I am the Manager at Children 1st @ Meir Park. I qualified in 1998 and I have worked at Meir Park for over 15 years. Before I became the Manager I was Deputy Manager and also worked for 10 years in the Jemima Puddle Ducks as a senior nursery nurse. I have a wide range of experience and I have a real passion for all the children we care for but especially our under 3’s.
