Children 1st Meir Park Nursery School has been refurbished to provide a bright, spacious and stimulating environment for babies, toddlers and pre-school children from birth to five years. The nursery also provides a flexible after-school club for children aged five to twelve years.

A friendly and enthusiastic team of early years staff are fully trained and experienced to give each child the best care and attention they require to meet their developmental milestones.

The nursery features age-appropriate rooms that lead onto a spacious outdoor garden which has been designed to provide a rich learning experience with carefully chosen, age-specific equipment.

A nutritionally balanced menu is provided by the on-site chef who caters for any specific dietary requirements.

The nursery also offers funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.

I cannot rate this nursery highly enough. There has been work consistently done to renovate the nursery, ensuring all rooms for the different ages are modern, fun and safe for the children.
I trust the staff within the setting, more than I trust family, and witness the love and care they give to our
child daily.
The meals provided within the setting must be well catered as our child eats far better at the nursery than at home. There are always snacks available.
The main plus of the nursery is that we know the team feel the same pride we do as parents when milestones are reached, they consistently strive to teach our child new things and encourage them in those areas they find more difficult.
As parents that work full time, we are reassured in the knowledge that our child's days are spent with friends playing games and learning as we receive regular updates and pictures through the app. The staff and management team are approachable and communicate regularly.

The staff are super helpful and compassionate. They take each child’s progression individually, allowing them all to progress at their own pace. My daughter loves going to nursery and has grown in confidence and intelligence hugely. Can’t thank the staff enough for the time and effort they put in.

Was so anxious to send my son to any nursery, we went and had a look around and I felt so welcome from the offset. Every single encounter I’ve had with any member of staff has been nothing but pleasant. You can tell they really care about each individual child. Extremely understanding and accommodating
too! Best decision I’ve ever made. My son hass also come on leaps and bounds while being there. Also such a good variety of meals!

My daughter started at Children 1st Day Nursery back in September 2020 and I was distraught at the thought of leaving her. I shouldn't have worried though as every member of staff looks after each child as if they were their own. We are kept up to date on every aspect of our daughter's nursery life
and the children have such a wide range of activities meaning they are constantly learning something new. They also get lots of time outside in the amazing play space they have. The menu is extremely varied meaning the children get to try things they perhaps wouldn't have at home. The staff all know each child individually, including the managers and everyone is very approachable. The staff are great at knowing when the children are off or upset and keep you updated on how they're doing. I truly cannot fault a thing at this nursery.

My daughter loves going to Children’s 1st. The staff are always so caring and professional and we feel happy knowing she is learning something daily and is in a safe environment.
The food menu is adventurous which means she eats a good variety of different foods.
She gets time outside when possible
and the staff work with us as parents to ensure what is best for her.

My little boy started at Children 1st Meir Park in September 2021. He has settled into the nursery really well, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. He is learning lots of new things and is enjoying himself. We are really happy that we chose this nursery.

Picking a nursery can be so daunting and I've honestly never looked back since putting my little girl into Children's 1st @ Meir Park Day Nursery. My daughter started nursery in July and she loves it. All her dietary requirements are met (dairy-free). Nothing is too much trouble for the nursery. Every
day she does something fun and comes home smiley. I know all about my daughter's naps, bottles, nappies and food during the day. I get regular updates and pictures which is lovely when you're at work and missing them.
Children's 1st @ Meir Park - thank you for making what was a daunting experience for both myself and my little girl very enjoyable!

My son loves going to this nursery, he has so much fun there and always comes home talking about what he's been up to during the day. All the ladies there are lovely, and it feels like I'm leaving him with friends rather than at a nursery. Thank you for looking after him Meir Park.

After viewing many nurseries, my husband and I were certain as soon as we stepped foot into Meir Park children first that this was the nursery for our baby.
The manager is personable and very approachable, she knows all children and parents by name and we noted the children run to her whenever she
entered a room- something which, for us, spoke volumes for the type of nursery Meir Park is.
The rooms in which the children are cared for are bright and airy. All of the staff we have met since our child started in April 2020, have been brilliant, happy and seem genuinely interested in the development and wellbeing of our son.
The food is freshly cooked &well balanced & our son enjoys his meals at nursery eating the lot!
For us, the most important thing is that our child is happy, safe and cared for whilst he is at nursery and I am sure that this is the case each time we drop him off. I would recommend Meir park nursery to anyone and have done to many friends!

My daughter has attended this nursery for almost 2 years now, she absolutely loves it, never had any tears and is always so happy there, even at a really young age. All of the staff are amazing and nothing is ever too much trouble. They do so many creative things with all the children and I can honestly
say my daughter has blossomed there. The staff all have such wonderful bonds with all the children and they all have such a genuine, caring nature. I couldn't recommend this nursery enough.

My son has been attending Children First @ Meir Park since he was 12 months. He is now almost 3. The nursery is fantastic and he loves attending. He has settled in really well and has lots of friends. He has various dietary requirements and these are always catered for. He was off nursery for 5 months
due to Covid and we were kept up to date with changes throughout this period. He returned to nursery without any issues and has settled back in happily.

My son has loved this nursery and all the staff since he started, and even the break this year didn’t phase him. All he had were good memories and as soon as he was ready to go back the staff were so welcoming it was like there had been no break. Starting my youngest at the same time was a worry as
she hadn’t seen any adults for months since lockdown but the ladies are so fun and kind that she quickly grew in confidence and loves nursery play days. We’re really pleased with this nursery and lots of thought is put into looking after children in the best possible way.

Brilliant nursery, the staff are great. They are always on hand to help and ensure my little boy comes into nursery settled. The manager is absolutely great and is very helpful with everything! I have worked in nurseries myself so I was quite picky when deciding on where to send my son. I cannot fault

Both my children have attended this nursery from 8 months old and we have been thoroughly pleased with the care they have been given! They are extremely well looked after and are always doing lots of fun activities! All the staff are wonderful. I would definitely recommend this nursery

I've always been really impressed with the nursery, the staff and its policies. However, all the team have really outdone themselves since COVID-19. Throughout their closure, we were consistently kept up to date with in-depth emails and messages detailing exactly how they were dealing with such a crisis
and what their aims were for the future. Since my child has returned to the setting in July, they have gone above and beyond ensuring the safety and well-being of all the children, as well as parents and have successfully worked through what must have been a very difficult transition. A lovely, caring staff who have a fantastic rapport with every child that I see. Would recommend it to anybody.

After lockdown, both of my children returned to nursery in July and the management have done a fantastic job in keeping all children and the staff safe. Even on the days when my eldest didn't want to go in, the staff did a fantastic job of encouraging him. I have always felt reassured leaving both of
them at nursery, as they have both always thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Now that my son has started school, he still talks about the nursery and asks for toast like at nursery and even if he can go back as a 'schooly'. My 2-year-old daughter has adapted well to going back to nursery after 3 months. She's so happy every evening when we collect her, which says it all. It's hard enough having to leave your children every day to go to work, but knowing that they are so well cared for and have so much fun makes it that little bit easier. I couldn't ask for a better nursery, thanks to all the staff at Children's 1st @ Meir Park.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2006

Hi my name is Sara Allen and I am the Manager at Children 1st @ Meir Park. I qualified in 1998 and I have worked at Meir Park for over 15 years. Before I became the Manager I was Deputy Manager and also worked for 10 years in the Jemima Puddle Ducks as a senior nursery nurse. I have a wide range of experience and I have a real passion for all the children we care for but especially our under 3’s.
