Children 1st Meir Park Nursery School has been refurbished to provide a bright, spacious and stimulating environment for babies, toddlers and pre-school children from birth to five years. The nursery also provides a flexible after-school club for children aged five to twelve years.

A friendly and enthusiastic team of early years staff are fully trained and experienced to give each child the best care and attention they require to meet their developmental milestones.

The nursery features age-appropriate rooms that lead onto a spacious outdoor garden which has been designed to provide a rich learning experience with carefully chosen, age-specific equipment.

A nutritionally balanced menu is provided by the on-site chef who caters for any specific dietary requirements.

The nursery also offers funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.

Absolutely fantastic nursery. My little boy started in January, and I thought it would take ages for him to settle in and be comfortable and happy, within two weeks he was into the routine and was happy to be left for his full hours. The staff are so helpful, nurturing and reassuring to the children
and parents! We've not been since mid-March due to lockdown, today was his first day back, and it's like he's never been away. He was so happy tonight, full of stories of his amazing day back. All the anxieties we had thins morning have just completely gone. This just demonstrates the amazing qualities the staff have and the environment within the nursery; he could go so long without having any interaction with the team, and to be left this morning, and to come home, and to have had the "best day ever! " (his words). The nursery meets every bit of his needs and more. I can not fault them in any way what so ever. It is by far exceeding my expectations all round!

The nursery is wonderful. My boy has come along so fast in the time he has been attending. The app is excellent and I enjoy my updates. They have done everything wonderful and feel safe knowing my child won't be let go of unless they hold the correct password and the staff use this also. The staff
are friendly, kind, give you info on the day, happy. They are also very smartly dressed. Great nursery and one I'm happy to keep returning too. My son loves all his new nursery staff.

My son has just graduated from this nursery and all I can say is how grateful I am for the staff and their dedication to our children. My son has come out of his shell and has loved every moment of it. Can't speak highly enough of this nursery. As parents, we were so anxious but this has just been a

I can not sing the praises of this nursery, its staff and the whole company in general.
Four children later and eleven years on I am still a customer. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my children.
It's always been clean, organised, the best staff and learning, nurturing environment.
But most recently
during the pandemic and the returning to the new normal, they have been amazing. So helpful, understanding and flexible along with safety procedures in place and clear direction.
Thank you so much for looking after all my babies, dare I say probably better than I.

My son has been at Meir Park nursery for over four years and I cannot recommend it enough. All staff have gone above and beyond to ensure he is happy and settled. My daughter absolutely loves going to nursery, she always looks forward to going and talks about her friends and staff there fondly! The manager is so friendly and helpful and leads such a great team. I have been well updated on my daughter's day when I pick her up and by the app. They provide a variety
of foods and have helped to improve my fussy eater's diet. I would highly recommend them, they provide such a happy and safe place that has helped with my daughter's development and skills.

Both of my children have attended this nursery and what an amazing nursery it is, there are not enough words for how forever grateful we are that every single staff member has put 110% into helping my child/children develop, nurture and grow in confidence during their time at this incredible nursery.
My daughter has finished today ready for her next venture into big school and I think I was more emotional than her, the whole team listen and take note of everything. The manager is fantastic, she really is and is supported by the most amazing team. Nothing is ever too much. We are going to miss you all a great deal. Thank you Meir Park team.

My nine-month-old baby has done one day a week to get her ready for three days a week come September. I was really worried as during Covid she has only seen me and her daddy. The carers have made her feel very at ease and really comfortable. She has naturally slotted into nursery so well. The only time
she cries is when we pick her up (says more about us haha) but on a serious note, they are great there. Listen to your needs and try to stick to the way you mother your child as much as possible. Always kind and smiling too. Keep up the good work.

Fantastic nursery, friendly professional staff who ensure the care is tailored to your child. My daughter needed some speech therapy assistance and the nursery nurses were more than happy to follow the activities set by her therapist as well as adding their own.
The manager is approachable, always
willing to help and makes the effort to know all of the children in the nursery.
My two daughters have loved their time there with the second due to leave later this month. There will be tears when she leaves the place that has helped her grow and prepared her for big girl school!

From having my initial contact with Meir Park, I was very confident that my daughter would be happy there. Staff were very friendly and very interested to find out as much information about my daughter as possible to enable them to support her to settle in and to provide her with individualised care.
Staff have always kept me well informed about how my daughter has been settling in and have updated her diary and Eylog which has been reassuring for us. The relaxed friendly and welcoming atmosphere at Meir Park is outstanding and I feel confident and comfortable to discuss any updates or changes in my daughter's health, growth and development.

My boys have only been at the nursery for a month, but what a fabulous experience so far. The managers have been exceptional in helping to make the process of moving our children for the 2nd time during covid so streamline and stress-free. They have gone above and beyond to sort out early years funding,
for which we are so grateful.
The boys are very happy and settled in their new surroundings, and always run out of the nursery with a smile on their faces. They are developing in many ways, and it is clear they are learning through play.

My 10-month-old little boy started nursery at Meir Park at the beginning of July. We felt he needed some extra stimulation that we couldn't accommodate at home. We were impressed with how effortless it was to get my son enrolled and settled in at nursery, and this was facilitated by the lovely manager
and her team of friendly staff. He absolutely adores going to nursery two mornings a week, and our only complaint is that we wish we could send him for more days! Drop off is a breeze, and we can tell that he is excited to go in and play with his friends as he barely gives us a second glance as we wave him off. In the short space, he has attended Meir Park nursery we can see that our son's development has improved dramatically in all areas, and this is testament to the incredible care and learning support that the nursery provides. The facilities at the nursery are well maintained and clean, and he is eating things that I wouldn't have even thought to give him. We will definitely be sending baby #2 here.

My son has been attending this nursery for a little over two years and I could not be happier with his progress and development. The staff are absolutely lovely and I have no complaints about the care they offer. My son absolutely loves his nursery nurses and talks about them all of the time. I don't
think without this fabulous setting that he would have developed so strongly and confidently. The service is such a personal one and the manager in particular, makes sure she gets to know your child and interacts as well as all the other staff. I cannot recommend this setting more highly.

My son has been going to Meir Park nursery now since January (he had the obvious break due to the situation) but his learning and development has come on leaps and bounds. The staff are all extremely friendly when we arrive and with the current situation when he started to attend again they always ensured
he felt safe going.
The nursery is always so welcoming and inviting and I love seeing all the activities he gets up to. I couldn’t recommend Meir Park nursery enough; they have been a massive part of helping my son grow into the big clever boy he is today!

My son has been attending this nursery for over a year and I cannot fault the nursery in any way. All the staff are fantastic! They keep you well informed of progress your child is making throughout and even just what they have been up to and have eaten from day to day. Nothing is too much trouble!
They listen, understand, are caring and passionate about the job they do. It shows with how happy my son has been at nursery and I wish he wasn't leaving yet. I trust their judgment and they have always called me about things I may want to know about when he has been there. The nursery have an app they use which is brilliant in updating you on activities they do and how their learning has progressed. My son has come on so well since attending nursery, in his confidence, socialising, eating and learning and I really do believe it's down to how brilliant they all are!

My child returned to the nursery on 29th June and he has absolutely loved it. He was only at the nursery a week before lockdown so it was almost like his first week all over again but wouldn't have thought it when dropping him off. He's settled so incredibly well and I think that's down to the staff
and how they are with the children. His face lights up when they greet him in the morning. His development has come on leaps and bounds since his return and we are just so thankful that he is in safe hands with them. We would recommend the nursery to anyone who is looking locally and considering their options. It's the best decision we made. We would like to especially thank 2 members of staff in particular who have established such a lovely relationship with him in such a short space of time. And to the managers, who dedicate their time to getting to know each child and making them feel safe and loved.

Hi my name is Sara Allen and I am the Manager at Children 1st @ Meir Park. I qualified in 1998 and I have worked at Meir Park for over 15 years. Before I became the Manager I was Deputy Manager and also worked for 10 years in the Jemima Puddle Ducks as a senior nursery nurse. I have a wide range of experience and I have a real passion for all the children we care for but especially our under 3’s.
