Children 1st Meir Park Nursery School has been refurbished to provide a bright, spacious and stimulating environment for babies, toddlers and pre-school children from birth to five years. The nursery also provides a flexible after-school club for children aged five to twelve years.

A friendly and enthusiastic team of early years staff are fully trained and experienced to give each child the best care and attention they require to meet their developmental milestones.

The nursery features age-appropriate rooms that lead onto a spacious outdoor garden which has been designed to provide a rich learning experience with carefully chosen, age-specific equipment.

A nutritionally balanced menu is provided by the on-site chef who caters for any specific dietary requirements.

The nursery also offers funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.

My daughter joined in January 2019. We knew that going to nursery twice a week would assist with her development-and we’ve not been disappointed. The staff are friendly and our daughter is always happy to go over to one of the Jemima ladies to start her exciting day with her friends. We love reading
through her diary at the end of the day to see what she’s been up to, and to also see what exciting food she’s tried that day!
As a parent, I feel well informed with what my daughter is up to when she’s there - especially when I receive regular updates and pictures of her via the app which always makes my day when I’m a work.
I would highly recommend Children 1st @ Meir Park to any parent, I feel very confident that my daughter is being very well cared for when she’s there and the regular updates I receive provide me with that assurance.

My toddler has been going to this nursery since she was 6 months old (she's now 19 months) and we couldn't be happier with it. She has some lovely friends there, great relationships with the friendly staff and has always been really happy to get there in the morning and loathe to leave! The menu is
always varied and she eats well. The staff have always been really flexible and helpful. The team do so many fantastic and varied activities with the children, anything from baking and music to creative activities and outdoor play, I know she'll never get bored and she's fully entertained. I can see how much she learns and grows by coming to this nursery (which helps ease the working-mum's-guilt significantly!) and am very confident her attendance will contribute greatly to her growing into a self-assured, happy little girl with a great set of skills.

When deciding where to take my little boy, I visited a number of nurseries. Children 1st @ Meir Park stood out by a clear mile. My boy has been attending this nursery since January and I am extremely happy with his care. The team are fantastic. Everyone, including nursery staff, cooks, cleaners are
extremely friendly and approachable. The nursery is very clean, secure and the facilities are excellent. My baby’s progress is monitored in way of an online app and daily diary to ensure I am fully up to date with his progress and activities each day which is perfect for me as I like to know how his days gone and what he’s been up to! All food is prepared freshly on site by the chefs and puts my home cooking to shame! I have a menu each week so I know what he will be having for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks are also provided along with milk. My boy's development has come on leaps and bounds and I would like to thank all the team at Children 1st @ Meir Park for their hard work and dedication. Thank you.

Our choice of Children 1st @ Meir Park was the best decision what we could have made. My son absolutely loves going there, learn and play with his friends.
The nursery has excellent, friendly and kind staff. The nursery manager knows all of the children's names. It’s just amazing and it is leaving
such a good impression. Also, the lady on reception in the morning is so nice and always welcomes you with a smile on her face. The nurses are very nice, friendly and supportive for kids. My son loves his main nurse. She was always there for him at the beginning when he was going through his settling process. She was just amazing and he always calmed down when she was around. It was always easier to leave when I knew he would be ok with her. They all do an excellent job.
The nursery is always clean and my son loves the food there. Very happy about this nursery and will definitely choose it again in the future. I would definitely recommend.

Our eldest child had been coming to this nursery for 3 years now and we have registered our little boy to start in July. We couldn’t praise the nursery enough. The staff are always so happy, friendly and helpful. The preschool staff are amazing with my eldest boy. I thought that he would get bored at
nursery as he is ready for school but the girls continue to challenge him with the homework and activities. He loves coming to nursery and he even asks to come on his days off as he wants to play outside. Fabulous nursery!

Fantastic nursery with fabulous, friendly staff. Before my daughter started I had looked at quite a few nurseries but none compared to this one. So glad I chose to send her to Children 1st @ Meir Park.


Keep up the brill work guys. My daughter's come on so much in her social and language skills in

We are extremely pleased with the nursery and very grateful for all that the staff do. Our little boy took a little while to settle when he joined at 9 months but the staff were extremely caring and took the time to help him settle with lots of cuddles and are all very committed to the children they
care for. All of the staff are approachable and friendly and provide a range of engaging activities throughout the day. Our little boy loves the staff and they clearly communicate all he has been up to through his book and uploaded pictures so we never feel like we miss out. I would highly recommend the nursery to others.

Going back to work was always going to be daunting, however it has been made so much easier by the fantastic care that my son is given whilst I'm there. My son is happy as soon as walk through the door. The updates we get on a daily basis, and the photos we see prove that we made the right choice. There
is a brilliant range of activities that they do, indoors and out, and I love the artwork he brings home.
All the staff are super friendly, and will always take the time to listen to you and answer any questions.
The food must be great too, as even at 9 months old my son eats everything put in front of him.
On the whole, I would highly recommend Children First @ Meir Park, and all the staff within it.

Fantastic nursery, warm and welcoming. All staff and really enthusiastic and lovely and come across as though they all love what they do. We've been going for the last 2 years and I feel like my little man has come on so much and feel like he enjoys his time there which gives me so much peace of mind.

Both my children have come to Meir Park, they are happy in a caring, happy atmosphere.
The staff really take their time to get to know you, like a second family. Both my children have special needs and the nursery nurses have taken extra time to help liaise with physio and other guidance to ensure
they are helping them progress.
It’s important to feel happy to rush off to work knowing you don’t have to worry about the children.

This Nursery is Outstanding. The manageress is a wonderful, thoughtful and knowledgable practitioner, with whom I trust implicitly. Her kindness and support is invaluable to my family. I could not be happier with all aspects of my children’s education and care. Staff take time every day to support my
children across all areas and they are so happy here. Thank you to all staff who work non-stop to ensure that children and parents alike are welcomed and supported. We moved our son to this nursery having previously been somewhere else and this was the best decision we have ever made for him.


The facilities both inside and outside allow children to enhance their learning while having fun through play. Staff have lots of activities planned with the children,

many of which I would never have thought to try at home.
The staff are all very approachable and tell you what your child has done each day. I also enjoy feedback on the ey log feed and looking at the learning planned each week outside the classroom.
I am happy that when our little boy is at nursery he has good meals and is having fun whilst being stimulated.
Even though this is a larger nursery, the management and reception staff display a personal touch and know each child and parents name which is pleasing. From the moment you step inside the nursery staff are welcoming and helpful.
The staff have also been helpful in ensuring that my son gets the funded hours that he is entitled to.

I have 2 children at this nursery and I couldn’t be happier. Both my children are very happy to go to nursery in the morning no tears, they learn a lot, they keep us up to date with their development so we know how to assist our children at home.

My son attended this nursery for nearly 4 years. My daughter now attends. I did not hesitate in sending her to this nursery. It is fantastic. The staff are very caring, the food is healthy, clean environment, great outdoor play area, the eylog is fantastic...overall brilliant. Great value for money.

My son has attended the nursery from 6months old. He has always enjoyed nursery and will often ask if it is ‘nursery time’ at the weekend. During the past 3 years he has grown in confidence, knowledge and understanding. Each room offers a tailored EY curriculum that is exciting and inviting. My son's
current room is always set up for each area of the Early Years, including a fantastic creative area (which he particularly enjoys). I also like how homework is set and books sent home, allowing me to build on what he has learnt about that week. All staff at the nursery are friendly and provide a safe and secure environment. They are always available to speak to before and after the nursery day, which as a mum, is lovely to hear about what type of day they have had. Parents' evening allows time to talk about your child. The nursery manager is really approachable and knowledgeable. The EY log app is a great way to keep a track on my son's progress and I enjoy having regular updates sent to my phone.

My child loves going here. Her key worker and all the staff are brilliant and I get regular updates on how she is doing. The online app is great as you get lots of information plus videos and pictures of how your child is progressing.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2006

Hi my name is Sara Allen and I am the Manager at Children 1st @ Meir Park. I qualified in 1998 and I have worked at Meir Park for over 15 years. Before I became the Manager I was Deputy Manager and also worked for 10 years in the Jemima Puddle Ducks as a senior nursery nurse. I have a wide range of experience and I have a real passion for all the children we care for but especially our under 3’s.
