Children 1st Meir Park Nursery School has been refurbished to provide a bright, spacious and stimulating environment for babies, toddlers and pre-school children from birth to five years. The nursery also provides a flexible after-school club for children aged five to twelve years.

A friendly and enthusiastic team of early years staff are fully trained and experienced to give each child the best care and attention they require to meet their developmental milestones.

The nursery features age-appropriate rooms that lead onto a spacious outdoor garden which has been designed to provide a rich learning experience with carefully chosen, age-specific equipment.

A nutritionally balanced menu is provided by the on-site chef who caters for any specific dietary requirements.

The nursery also offers funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.

My son has been attending this wonderful nursery since August 2022. All staff are warm, welcoming professional and friendly. All rooms are clean, bright and full of activities for the children to learn and have fun. We receive a daily diary, which I love to read and the app is updated with photos and
milestone achievements. Communication on events, funding etc is great. My son has developed since attending and he has a great relationship with his key workers. In the morning there is a breakfast basket for 'parents on the go' to use and at home time the children can collect a healthy snack, little touches like this show the nursery goes the extra mile. The food menu is amazing and my son loves to try all of the different meals on offer. Thank you Children's 1st Meir Park.

So glad we found Children 1st nearly 2 years ago now. Our son currently attends and our daughter will be starting in a few months. All staff are kind and caring ensuring children are safe while learning new things. The rooms are clean and organised with different outdoor spaces accessible and appropriate
for the respective age groups and the kitchen always has wonderful smells coming from it. Daily diary and detailed handovers from staff alongside photos and videos of learning objectives lead to a good reflection of your child's activities of the day with plenty of artwork to put on the fridge! Thank you for keeping the toddler busy, well-fed, and happy!

My son has been attending since November 2023 and has settled in really well. From our very first visit, we felt comfortable and were immediately sure that this was the right nursery for us. We didn't even visit any others! The staff are friendly and welcoming and I always feel like they know us personally.
The activities are great and we can see how much our little boy has developed already. I love to see what he's been doing each day and what delicious meals he's had. We've never had any problems and I feel confident that he's well cared for and safe. Fantastic nursery, would recommend to anyone.

Both of our children have been at Meir Park Children 1st for over 12 months now, I would recommend this nursery to everyone!
The staff are absolutely fantastic, from helping us with potty training to following our nap schedules and caring for our children like their own.
I see my children come on
in leaps and bounds from one week to the next, people can’t get over the speech of my eldest child, and that’s all down to the nursery and the way they educate and help our children develop.
Sensitive issues are always dealt with in a friendly and professional manner by all staff. We feel that our children are allowed to be themselves and express themselves when at nursery, as the end-of-day feedback on pick-up definitely relates to the personalities we see at home with our children.
The menu for the children is very varied and we’re very jealous when we see what they’ve eaten some days! I dread the day we have to leave to go to school! An amazing nursery!

Absolutely amazing nursery, from the moment I viewed the nursery I knew it was the right choice for my son. My son goes to the nursery and I cannot express how lovely it is. He has come on leaps and bounds since starting, the nursery itself is impeccable. It is clean, the children’s care itself is amazing, they are very well looked after, the meals they have, the learning, the observations you can see and
also what they have been up to in their diaries, everything about it is outstanding. The staff are lovely, also always there to help you and greet you always smiling and happy, I couldn’t wish for a better nursery for my son to go to!

My son has attended since September 2023. It's always hard to leave your children with other people but as he now walks in without crying it's much easier! Although he only attends two days a week, his sleep, eating habits and interaction with other children have all improved. The nursery is always
clean and facilities look good. My boy particularly loves grabbing the raisins as a snack on his way out, it's a great car snack on the way home so I think this is a lovely idea!

I have been over the moon with Meir Park nursery up till now. My daughter initially cried a lot when dropping her off and over 3 weeks, she has become to accept it quite well, which shows she is feeling safe and secure. The nursery respect our home routines and try to follow this as much as possible
which we hugely appreciate. The staff are friendly every day and always take the time to say good morning and goodbye.
I couldn't fault them! Thank you so much.

My son has been at the nursery for almost 2 years. The staff from the kitchen staff, the receptionists, the nursery teachers even the maintenance man. The nursery is full of such lovely and welcoming people. My son has come on leaps and bounds since attending. They put so much time and effort into the

Our child has attended the nursery for around 3 years with it being close to home. We are very lucky to have such a great nursery on our doorstep. We were worried at first that our child wouldn’t integrate well etc. All the usual concerns a parent has when their child joins a nursery however it has
been a great process so far. The staff have always been amazing and always communicate with us very well; they have also always been very flexible if we needed an earlier start or something like that. As a result of how good the nursery has been, we decided against moving our child from the nursery to preschool as we would’ve had to move him again due to the school we want our child to go to not having preschool. Overall we are very happy.

Wouldn't send my daughter to anywhere else. She loves nursery, the staff are so lovely and attentive. Facilities are excellent, clean and the activities are varied and keep her stimulated. It's lovely to see how far she's progressing and that's a testament to the nursery and their hard work!

My child has been attending children 1st @ Meir Park for over a year. The nursery is amazing all the staff are so friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic. I am always greeted with a smile and when I collect my daughter am told all about her day. I have never had any issues at all, communication is good
and I can relax knowing she is being well cared for. The facilities at the nursery are fantastic, my daughter has thrived since attending!

My child has been attending this nursery for the past 3 years and I couldn’t wish for a better setting.
The staff are all wonderful at what they do, the relationship with the children is genuine and my daughter comes home bursting with lovely things to tell me from her day. There are always fun events
throughout the year, seasonal activities and most recently the nativity play which just showed everybody’s hard work and dedication to the children. I feel my child has grown so much in confidence during her time here and is always excited to return the following week. There are always new things to learn and the communication between the nursery and parents is also great. I would recommend to anybody and everybody. Leaving your child in the care of others is hard, but I can honestly say I’ve never had to worry when she’s here. Thank you to everyone at Meir Park, I’ll be sad when we have to leave for school!

My son's been coming here since early summer and has absolutely thrived since joining! He’s quite a shy little one at first and all the staff took great care and patience in helping him settle in. He always comes out with the biggest smile on his face, telling me he's had a great day. He has developed
a close relationship with a few members of staff and is always talking about them at home. The food always sounds delicious and my son says everything is yummy! There is a wide variety of activities done each day and it's nice to see what he has been up to with what he brings home. His confidence has come on loads and he is learning new things every day. Would recommend the nursery to anyone, you're always made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. They are super flexible and always on hand to help! 5* all round.

My daughter loves attending here, she asks to go to nursery on her 'non-nursery days', the staff are excellent and the rooms are brilliant for the children. Everything from the food to the staff is 5 stars. I love how as parents we are kept up to date with developments. Highly recommend this nursery

Absolutely wonderful nursery with very lovely staff and the perfect environment. My son adores all of the staff and the large space he has to play and learn with other children too. They also have a wide range of activities and a large outdoor play area for the children.
The staff have been very encouraging
and patient with my son since he's started and I couldn't be more grateful.

Ever since coming to nursery, my little boy has come on so much more quickly. He is smiley and excited when I drop him off and even when he has been poorly the girls have cuddled and looked after him as if he is their own.
The manager and the girls are all so lovely and can never do enough to help.
They know every child who walks in every morning and they all get a little personalised hello.
My little one is the fifth of his cousins to go to nursery and every one of them has had an amazing experience.
We feel lucky to have got him in there.

Staff are lovely and have been very patient with our little boy. He is extremely nervous and he absolutely loves nursery now. The atmosphere and ambience are perfect. We love the lights!
We have decided to keep our little boy there for the extra year instead of starting nursery school because he is
so settled now. He is now open to trying new food (sometimes) thanks to, again, the patience of the staff.
I would highly recommend the nursery to all. Overall, a lovely environment for my son.

Hi my name is Sara Allen and I am the Manager at Children 1st @ Meir Park. I qualified in 1998 and I have worked at Meir Park for over 15 years. Before I became the Manager I was Deputy Manager and also worked for 10 years in the Jemima Puddle Ducks as a senior nursery nurse. I have a wide range of experience and I have a real passion for all the children we care for but especially our under 3’s.
