Children 1st Bilborough Nursery School is located on Beechdale Road in the heart of Bilbrough on the site of Jubilee Lead Academy School. The setting offers complete care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years old and 30 hours funded places are available for eligible 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.

The setting is a bright open and engaging learning environment, complete with a separate baby suite. The outdoor area has been designed to maximise the potential for outdoor play and children are encouraged to choose their own activity with a huge variety of options both inside and out.

Our child has been at this nursery for just under a year. In that time all of the staff, from key workers to reception staff, have demonstrated a wonderful level of care and friendliness, and have helped our child to increase in confidence. They have truly taken the time to get to know our child as
an individual. Communication, activities and resources are all excellent, and they cater to our child's dietary requirements. We would recommend this nursery to anyone.

From the moment our son enrolled at Children 1st, we have been consistently impressed by the dedication, professionalism, and expertise demonstrated by the entire school staff. The positive learning environment and nurturing atmosphere have truly made a difference in our son's early years development.
Overall,
our son's experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are grateful for the opportunities he has had to learn, grow, and thrive in such a nurturing and supportive environment. I am writing to express our heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding education and support that our son, receives at Children 1st. There are several aspects of Children 1st, that we would like to highlight in this review:
1. The teachers are passionate about education and go above and beyond to support
their pupils. They provide meaningful feedback that inspires the children to reach their full potential.
2. The facilities and resources enhance the learning experience for children. From well-equipped classrooms and safe extracurricular facilities/outside space, the school provides children with mostly everything they need to succeed in further learning and socially.
3. The sense of community is truly remarkable. Teachers/administrators work together collaboratively to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected. The school's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is evident in its policies, programs and initiatives.

Where do I start?
As a mother of 2. One of which has severe additional needs, finding a nursery that matched my high expectations when we relocated was a top priority. I visited several in the local area however, my decision was relatively easy and I couldn't imagine him being anywhere else.
I have
nothing short of excellent things to say about this nursery. From the amazing staff being warm and welcoming (with lots of personality) to the signup process with the lovely reception staff being quick, easy and stress-free.
Let's not forget that the facilities are absolutely fantastic (in every single room)!
The rooms are cleverly designed and well-equipped for both play and learning. Making learning at all stages a priority and fun.
They provide a lovely menu and celebrate lots of events throughout the year!
My son’s speech, understanding of the world and knowledge have improved massively since joining. He looks forward to attending every morning and never wants to leave at pick-up.

My daughter loves it here and all the staff.
She is progressing so nicely. It's amazing to see how happy she is to go to school as we call it. They do alot of crafts, which I like, and she plays outside alot.

My son started Children 1st in December 2020. He still attends and absolutely loves it. He has been taken care of to the highest standards, and his needs have been met, whether this has been emotionally or physically. I have never had a problem where I have had to communicate with the nursery. All the
staff are hands-on and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend Children 1st to anyone thinking of sending their child to a nursery. Thank you all at Beechdale Road!

Since starting with Children 1st @ Bilborough when she was 10 months old, our experience here has been nothing but amazing.
The care they have shown for my daughter and support in her development has been incredible.
The staff are friendly and welcoming and build great relationships with the children,
as well as the parents. There is always something happening from stay and plays to photo sessions.
They have great facilities, including a large outdoor space with slides, role-play areas and ride-ons, the indoor space is always large. The room my daughter is currently in has a ball pool, which she loves.

My 2-year-old daughter has attended this nursery since January and is currently attending. Since attending, her speech has come on so well; she’s able to express her emotions and communicate her needs much more easily. She has reached all her milestones and then some. She is learning key values, and
her behaviour is improving at home also. The staff have been nothing short of amazing with her; they are patient caring and supportive. The communication within the nursery is great; I am informed of any issues right away. The nursery is clean, well-kept and looked after. I wouldn’t send my children anywhere else. Fab Nursery, keep up the hard work to all staff.

As a first-time mummy! And all the stress that comes with it. I remember choosing her first “safe place “ (nursery) for my little girl! Have to admit, it was very stressful especially since mummy had to go to work and had to leave my baby for so many hours..! But without any stress, I have to admit
it, this nursery gave me peace of mind! My daughter loves going there! The staff are the most amazing people I ever met! And on top it of my daughter is autistic! Yes, she is! So her needs are even more complicated, but in this place, she gets ever and more! Thank you from the bottom of my heart - thank you, thank you, thank you.

My son has attended this nursery for around 13 months. They have made every effort to make him feel settled at nursery.
They have very good communication, which I really appreciate it.
A variety of meals offered that I wouldn’t think of at home that I love he gets to experience there.

It's been fabulous that my kid is enjoying his nursery at Children's 1st. We were initially worried about joining him at the age of 9 months, but never looked back on the decision to join him here. Caring caretakers and well-maintained environment. They are also well supportive for special care if any,
to food or any others. One particular member of staff has been exceptionally good at her job, and my boy loves spending time with her and all the other caretakers. It's been a good six months with them and happy with the services. The only one concern we have is that my kid gets sick very often, and it is not probably on the nursery but rather his age and climate at the moment. Hopefully, my kid will continue to enjoy his stay here.

I couldn’t fault this nursery. My daughter was a very fussy eater, and they have helped her explore new foods and now eats a lot more foods than she used to. They have been working on her confidence, and I can see the difference in her.
My daughter is so happy coming to nursery every day and misses
going during half term.
The outside areas are fantastic, with great facilities.
All the staff are great, but a special shout out to her key worker! She is great so enthusiastic, warm, welcoming and kind. You can really tell she loves her job as she has so much passion for the children she cares for.
I will be sad to say goodbye when she starts foundation in September.

Very welcoming and warming nursery. Good relationship in terms of how they share everything with us that is going on with our child. They have an app in which we get updates which makes it easier to communicate with the nursery. The staff, especially one lady in the baby room, makes me feel so at ease
leaving my baby - she started when she was nine months old, and she will happily go into the room without any tears.

Excellent nursery. My child has been here since he turned two, and he’s been really comfortable and loves all of the staff there. Would definitely recommend - a lovely nursery and lovely people.
The gardens are excellent and the setting is really good and pleasant. My son has come on leaps and bounds,
and his confidence has grown massively; now I can leave him at nursery without him getting upset.

My little boy started back in December and has slowly loved to enjoy the nursery. He has a great bond with all the staff there and now goes to his key workers straight away.
I’ve noticed a massive difference in his development and can not thank the staff enough for all they do for our boy.
My little
one struggles sometimes with eating, but the staff make sure he is fed, and if doesn’t want to eat at that time, will give him something later on in the day.
All staff make sure parents are well informed regarding their child and update daily about how the day has been for their little one.
The nursery itself has so many rooms and different activities for the children based on age group.

My child started in January, and the staff helped hugely with helping my child settle in. They take their time to communicate with you about your child’s day as well as having a diary that you can also write in. My child enjoys coming to nursery, he enjoys learning and loves the activities they have.
The outdoor space is great too. I’m glad I enrolled my child here.

My daughter has been attending this nursery since she was ten months old, she is now four. From the very beginning, I felt confident leaving my daughter here. The staff have supported her learning throughout, in fun and positive ways. The nursery itself is always very clean and well set out. All of
the different classes have access to a garden/outside area, which was an important factor for me. The meals they serve are healthy and well-balanced. Most importantly, my daughter is happy and thriving here. I would recommend this nursery to any parent.

One of the best nurseries. I've enrolled both my children at Children 1st @ Bilborough in 2022. I do have a car and can travel whatever distance for the right reason and for me, quality childcare is a very important reason. I've visited seven other nurseries, prior to this one and the reasons I chose
this nursery were: good, quiet location, safety as the access to the premises is made via locked gates, big, bright rooms with lots of natural light, children-friendly rooms with lots of toys/play areas without being too crowded, all rooms have access to beautiful outdoor gardens where children can play, even in hot and sunny/rainy days as all gardens have a covered area, healthy meals cooked fresh every day. Reasons why I still strongly recommend this nursery: amazing staff in all rooms, as my son started in baby room. I always thought my children were supported, encouraged, never rushed and understood, both developed well in terms of communication, skills, confidence, imagination and learning abilities.
