My daughter attends this nursery and has done since January this year. She absolutely loves it and we can already see that she has learnt so much and she always says how much of a wonderful day she has had when she comes home. She has also been a fussy eater her whole life but she actually eats or at
least tries her food at nursery so I don't worry about what she has eaten in the day.
The staff are amazing and my daughter loves them, especially her key person. The management team are also wonderful and always have the time to help.
Even though my daughter started during the pandemic and I am not able to pick up or drop off inside the building, on the occasion that I was allowed in it was clear that it was a priority to ensure that everyone was safe.
The actual nursery itself is beautiful. There is so much to do and so much choice in resources for the children. It is very clean and well set out, and the staff make you feel so welcome.
I'm so glad we picked Children 1st @ Bilborough.

My son started at Children 1st @ Bilborough Autumn 2019. I was initially worried at first with him being quite shy and reserved but the nursery definitely knew how to bring him out of his shell. Within a few weeks, he was confident of his numbers and his alphabet and I was beyond pleased with this!
After lockdown 2020, I was a little reluctant to send him back but after consideration, I thought it was for the best and I was not wrong. The staff have been so helpful ensuring safety measures at the nursery and I feel confident my little boy is in safe hands. He even asks to go on the days he doesn’t attend! The staff are marvellous and I couldn’t praise them more. I am so happy with his learning and development. I would highly recommend this nursery. 10/10 5 stars.

I was initially really reluctant to send my daughter to nursery however due to work circumstances I had no choice. After visiting 10 nurseries over Nottingham I can safely say Children’s 1st in Bilborough is by far the best nursery I came across. The staff are always polite, friendly and really respectful
of your parenting preferences and really seems to be invested in each child. The facilities for the children are fantastic and I know my daughter has lots of fun and activities throughout the day in a safe and very clean and modern environment. I love that I get regular updates on the app of her daily activities so it doesn’t feel like I’ve missed out seeing my daughter have fun and learn throughout the day.
Very pleased with my decision to send my daughter here and would 100% recommend to anyone!

What a fantastic, outstanding and nurturing nursery Children 1st @ Bilborough are!
My son has been attending for the last six months and has thrived since starting. He moved from another local nursery and the manager and her team could not have been any more accommodating! The management and all the
staff are a tremendous asset to the nursery as they create and maintain such fantastic positive relationships. My son has allergies and the nursery team have been absolutely brilliant ensuring his needs are catered for.
The environment is spectacular and the activities set up for the children are engaging and inviting. Everything about the nursery is of such a high standard which is reflected through provision and staff.
The staff regularly update observations through the app and always provide daily communication in the nursery diaries. The level of communication maintained is exceptional and I could not wish for anything better.
I would highly recommend this nursery, absolutely brill!

We came here after a bad experience at another nursery. We have found the care here exceptional. Our daughter is well cared for and happy. She has made friends and her development every day is noticeable. You know you have chosen the right daycare when your child goes into nursery with enthusiasm and
often forgetting to say goodbye.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to anybody. The facilities and staff are far superior to any other nursery I have visited and the manager is approachable and fair.

My daughter started this nursery at 9 months old, I was worried about her starting nursery however the staff are great here and the baby room is lovely. I had many settling visits and reassurance from the staff. She settled in quickly and loves going now. One nursery nurse, in particular, is great but
so are all the staff here thank you.

My son currently attends nursery in bobtails, (almost 2) he loves running into the nursery and is regularly shouting the staff from the car on the way to nursery. I am happy leaving him at nursery as the parents' app keeps me up to date with his goings-on. He goes to nursery happy and also leaves happy.
His development has come on massively thanks to his keyworkers and coworkers. He is now a huge chatterbox and his language and understanding are amazing. He always comes home having learnt something new each day. I would recommend this nursery for all ages. I intend to keep him here until he has to leave to go to full-time school. I cannot fault the staff who are so attentive. My son always has a home-cooked, warm meal at dinner time and a fulfilling tea. He is always happy when we collect him and is always busy doing something. The daily diaries are ideal for when I can’t collect, so I know what he has spent his day doing. The manager is always on hand to answer any queries you have and this gives me peace of mind.

From visiting the nursery for a look around with my twins, I instantly felt a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere from the nursery and staff. When having a look around the nursery, the manager talked me through the ins and outs of the nursery and was more than happy to answer any questions I had,
which was reassuring. My twins have now been in the nursery for four weeks and there is nothing I can fault the nursery on. My children thoroughly enjoy attending the nursery daily. They have only been going to the nursery a short period of time and I can already see progress in their development. Both the staff and management are always happy and welcoming. They’re also more than happy to listen to any issues, questions or requests I have. My children are extremely fond of their teachers and often talk about them at home.

The facilities at the nursery are always Clean and tidy. They have a huge, well equipped playing space indoors and outdoors.

I would definitely recommend this nursery

I’m so happy with the choice I made to put my child in this nursery, at first my daughter was very timid with not a lot of confidence but she quickly came out of her shell and now absolutely loves attending children’s 1st. She loves all of the staff, and often speaks of the friends she’s made.

My child literally loves going to nursery - they even ask on the weekend if they are going nursery today. All the staff are amazing and my child adores them all. The staff always tell me what my child has been up to and what they have had for lunch. The meals that the chef cooks always sound delicious
and my child loves having lunch at nursery. The nursery is always clean and tidy. My child walks into the nursery with a smile and leaves at the end of the day with a smile. I would highly recommend this nursery.

The staff are very polite, welcoming and friendly and my child settled in very quickly in the nursery. She has been very happy and has made a lot of progress since moving here from her previous nursery setting. My child made friends quickly and has a good relationship with the staff members. They pass
the information about each child and encourage the children to talk about their day. The staff have been very supportive of my child's needs and I am very happy with the care she receives. The nursery was recommended from my friends and I have been very happy and have recommended the nursery to others myself.

My 21-month-old son currently attends the Children 1st nursery in Bilborough and I think it’s just brilliant. The staff are fab, we get updates regularly via the app informing us what he’s been up to and get a full handover every time we pick him up. Compared to other nurseries I’ve seen (both in Nottingham
and also in London) the facilities and equipment and toys here are great. So much variety and opportunity for imaginative and creative play and learning. My son attends only a couple of half-days per week, but even that short time is giving him a great opportunity to learn and develop social skills (plus come home with some new dance moves which we’ve definitely not taught him - haha). I’d thoroughly recommend this to any parent seeking a nursery for their toddler.

Since beginning nursery, our little boy has learnt so much and settled in really well thanks to caring staff and their flexibility. We were initially worried about how he would settle but he now strolls into nursery himself with so much confidence. He always has lots of fun and new activities to do
and we love hearing how he is getting on through the app.

My daughter is very happy schooling with this nursery. She wakes up early every day and prepares for school. This shows that she is so excited and happy with all the teachers and the environment. I am happy for her development. I can't thank the nursery staff enough. May they continue with this spirit.

After my daughter being at a nursery we were highly disappointed with, we then took her to Children 1st @ Bilborough where she was welcomed and cared for with outstanding care.
My daughter has special relationships with certain girls and I am very happy and feel she's in a safe environment when I'm
at work.
I love reading her diary at the end of the day knowing what her days have been like and love reviews on eylog about her whilst I'm at work. I couldn't be happier with the level of care.

My 16-month-old daughter started at the nursery about 2 months ago, she absolutely loves it!
When dropping her off she now marches off into the rooms with just a quick wave and smiles back at me! Her development has come on leaps and bounds since she has been going here. I can’t praise the staff
here enough they are so attentive and have kept me informed of everything my daughter gets up too. Fantastic nursery!

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.909)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.909) out of 10 for Children 1st Bilborough Nursery School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 37 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.909 for Children 1st Bilborough Nursery School is calculated as follows: ( (401 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 441 Ratings = 4.909
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Children 1st Bilborough Nursery School is based on 37 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 117 number of registered child places is 23.4, which has been reached with 37 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
