Norfolk House Nursery provides full-time and sessional day care for children aged three months to four-years-old, within a spacious Victorian house, that is situated close to Norfolk House School.

A team of skilled and professional childcare staff offer children the opportunity to spend all of their time learning, supporting them in a carefully developed learning environment. Staff work together ensuring that children are safe at all times as they learn and grow in a light, airy and spacious environment.

All rooms at the nursery are carefully designed and furnished with solid maple furniture and encompass a range of activity areas including: role-play, science and discovery, construction, art, wet play and literacy.

The nursery has its own secure grounds with a secret garden, log cabin, staged area and musical gazebo where children can benefit from storytelling, ball and sand pits, vegetable and plant boxes and a fruit growing area. All of these things encourage and support each child's learning and development, while offering them the chance to get fresh air and exercise regularly.

My daughter started Norfolk House Nursery, Norfolk road when she was ten months old. She has grown into such an independent, happy and responsive little girl. The staff at the nursery have been absolutely supportive, encouraging and very compassionate- what more could you ask your child to be surrounded
with?
The children are regularly involved in multiple activities, trips out and learning new things every day! The kitchen is brilliant - involving the kids in cooking and making sure they have fresh, nutritious food each day.
What impressed me the most is the ability of the management to receive constructive feedback and act on it swiftly. This shows the level of organisation, management and dedication towards child care.
I highly recommend Norfolk House Nursery to anyone looking for a nursery!

I started my son at Norfolk House in November 2022 when he was 11 months old. Naturally, I was very nervous about leaving him for the first time but after visiting the nursery and meeting the staff my angst was put to rest.
The attentiveness to each child's needs was clear to see. My son has been
there 3 months now and although it's never easy for me to leave him, it seems as though that is not the case for him anymore!
I am very happy with the recommendation I received from a friend to send him here and would definitely extend that recommendation to others.

I highly recommend Norfolk House Nursery. The staff are incredibly friendly and dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children. My son has been attending for several months now and has made great progress in their development. The daily activities are well-planned and encourage
learning and creativity. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the outdoor play area in particular is excellent and well-used. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the care and education my child is receiving at Norfolk house.

I am only a very occasional picker-up of my 20-month-old grandson but when I have picked him up it is obvious he is in great hands. I enjoy hearing about his day from the very friendly staff as part of a safe and thorough handover.

My son started nursery in November 2022 and I have nothing but praise. His settling-in period has been brilliant and this is definitely down to the amazing staff who have helped him transition from home to nursery. They have been so nurturing and I feel they have genuine care for my child. The facilities

Lovely homely nursery, with great outdoor garden space.
Both of our kids have really enjoyed going there. I was always a bit apprehensive when our kids started going, because you're not sure if they are going to settle (especially after less socialising during Covid) but you can tell that the children
are loved. The staff are great and make a really good bond with the kids.

Norfolk House has created a wonderful environment for my head strong, adventurous, cheeky and loving son to develop and grow. He joined at 12 months old and is now 3 years and the personality he has developed will be in part down to the nurturing workers who care for him three days a week. It is a huge
responsibility to work with children and also a very demanding job. The workers at Norfolk House have never failed to do everything they can for my son, I genuinely believe they truly care for him and I feel confident dropping him off every day. I have never had to worry that he isnt in safe hands, and that for me was the most important thing when looking for a nursery. He always leaves happy, a tad scruffy looking and a bit tired, the sign of a great day for a 3 year old boy. Norfolk House will take into account the childs interests and personalities, it isnt a one size fits all approach and it shows with all the happy faces I see when I collect my son.

My son is almost four and has been at Norfolk House Nursery since the pandemic began. I am so thankful we secured a place at the nursery, as not only did it allow me to return to work without worry but my son has become such an independent, happy, creative, intelligent and loving soul. The nursery is
clean, spacious and has tight security. The staff are amazing, he feels secure with them all and now that he is in preschool, he is able to communicate all of the things he has learned such as healthy eating, celebrations and religious events, forest school and even phonics. Even the nursery chef has attempted to re-create a dish he had spoken about with his friends. This is why Norfolk House Nursery has felt like home for our boy. Stay-and-play and continuous family activities are also an added bonus. I highly recommend it, the manager and team run this nursery so well.

Norfolk House is a wonderful place for babies and children. I enrolled my baby boy at Norfolk House when he was 9.5 months old. Since being at Norfolk House his personality has grown significantly, he is more playful, loves to sing in his babbling tones and has learnt how to play with and be around
other babies. Not only is Norfolk House a safe place for babies and children, but its premises are also very clean which attracted me to the nursery. The staff are very experienced and well trained and it is evident from the way they act with all the babies when I drop and collect my son. Children seem to be very happy here and its knowledge of different cultures and religions allows the nursery to be welcoming to all. Overall I'd say, I feel completely confident when leaving my son at the nursery and have never worried about him as I know he is in safe and loving hands.

My son has just started at Norfolk House Nursery. All of the staff here have really helped him to have a smooth settling period. Only a few days in, we can see he's enjoying his time at nursery despite some tears in the morning. We also get a detailed briefing of his day when we pick him up, including
food/drink/activities/nappy changes/sleep etc. All of the information really helps us to know his progress as well. We really appreciate all the staff's patience and care of our son.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, they all seem to really enjoy their job. The outside space is large. It feels secure and clean. Communication from the management team is very good. Our child really enjoys it.

My Daughter really enjoys going to Norfolk road nursery, she has developed her skills so much, she fully engages with all the children and enjoys their company. The staff interact with the children well and are always there to encourage her.
The facilities at the nursery I find are far much better
than other nurseries and the garden size really works for my daughter as she loves being outdoors. Overall we are really pleased with the nursery and if there is ever an issue it is rectified very quickly.

My two grandchildren attended Norfolk House Nursery from the age of one. The younger child is still there. They have both always loved going. The staff are fantastic and the food is excellent. Forest School is a particular favourite extracurricular activity.

What a great nursery, where it really feels that our son is cared for and loved by everyone there. Our son really enjoys his time at nursery and it is great to see the huge variety of activities that he gets involved in.

Our child never used to look forward to nursery but the team have really helped them settle in and they are now at the stage where they will just walk into the room. All the staff greet our child so warmly. There is such a variety of activities put on over the week and also extra special activities
over the Christmas period. I feel our child is learning so much thanks to the staff.

Nursery - I feel the nursery is satisfactory. My son's learning and independence has definitely developed since starting Norfolk House Nursery.
Staff - the staff have a warm, welcoming and positive relationship with the children which is always lovely to see and hear. They will always greet the children
and interact with them, whether it be upstairs or downstairs. More attention, however, needs to be paid to children's belongings as my son has come home with missing clothes or another child's clothes, despite name tags being visible. Other areas for improvement are ways of helping to prevent the spreading of germs, such as ensuring the face, hands and nose are regularly wiped as this can often be overlooked.
Administration - I receive 2 - 3 emails on occasions. Could this possibly be sent in one weekly email newsletter with all details?

We cannot fault Norfolk House Nursery in any way. My nearly 3-year-old son has been at the nursery for nearly two years and runs inside each day to be greeted by such welcoming and friendly staff who go above and beyond each day. My son has come on leaps and bounds in all aspects including with his
communication, behaviour, eating and toileting thanks to all the amazing staff, particularly three of them. They have all made his transition into preschool smooth and successful. The forest school is excellent which my son looks forward to every week and they do so many amazing activities including little trips and visits to the nursery (a particular highlight was the fire engine visit). My son also enjoys all the meals/snacks which provide a variety of nutritious and delicious foods. I highly recommend this nursery to everyone and can't thank them all enough.

My child has grown and developed significantly at Norfolk House Nursery. The fact she doesn't need to say goodbye when going into class, speaks volumes. The nursery has an incredible family ethos and there is a genuine love towards the children. So much so, that my son loves going to pick his sibling

Job Title: Senior Nursery Manager Joined: 2009

I am Hayley Fox, the Senior Nursery Manager. I oversee all three of our nurseries, sharing my time between them and working closely with the Nursery Managers who are responsible for their day-to-day operation. We have found that this arrangement further enhances the level of service we are able to provide and keeps us at the very forefront of Early Years education.


I have worked in Early Years education for 22 years. I started work at our Norfolk Road setting in April 2009, some five months before it opened its doors. I have therefore been able to recruit staff, plan and implement policies, and develop best practices in all areas from the Nursery’s very inception. My own daughter attended the Nursery and progressed through every age group, which has enabled me to view it from a parent’s perspective.


My team and I would be delighted to show you around our setting, explain further the service we provide and answer all your questions. Please do not hesitate to make contact me, and I look forward very much to meeting you in the future.

Over the years, I have progressed throughout my career transitioning from Nursery Nurse to Senior Nursery Nurse, Room Leader, Deputy Manager, and now Nursery Manager. I enjoy every minute of my time working at Norfolk House Nursery.


I believe our high standards, and passion to give all children the very best start in life is something to be proud of! We strive to give each child the best care and education that they deserve!


It has been a pleasure to meet so many lovely families during my time, which makes me so excited to become Nursery Manager at Norfolk Road after 10 years, I can’t wait!
