Norfolk House Nursery provides full-time and sessional day care for children aged three months to four-years-old, within a spacious Victorian house, that is situated close to Norfolk House School.

A team of skilled and professional childcare staff offer children the opportunity to spend all of their time learning, supporting them in a carefully developed learning environment. Staff work together ensuring that children are safe at all times as they learn and grow in a light, airy and spacious environment.

All rooms at the nursery are carefully designed and furnished with solid maple furniture and encompass a range of activity areas including: role-play, science and discovery, construction, art, wet play and literacy.

The nursery has its own secure grounds with a secret garden, log cabin, staged area and musical gazebo where children can benefit from storytelling, ball and sand pits, vegetable and plant boxes and a fruit growing area. All of these things encourage and support each child's learning and development, while offering them the chance to get fresh air and exercise regularly.

My son started Norfolk Road Nursery in January when he was 13 months old. At first, he had slight separation anxiety, however, he overcame it swiftly due to the warm nature of all the staff. He has been at nursery for 3 months and has developed in many aspects. He is gaining confidence each week and
has become very outgoing. As parents, we are extremely delighted with how his character is developing and are grateful to all the nursery staff for their efforts and support. My son started nursery when his brother was only 4 weeks so there was a lot of change in his life; the nursery did their utmost best to welcome my son and create a comfortable environment for him which we are very grateful for, as a result, he has settled in exceptionally well and absolutely loves nursery! Staff are very friendly, you definitely won’t regret sending your child here!

We have been at the nursery for 3 years now and all I can say is the staff are fantastic! They are always arranging fun activities and thinking ahead of ways to keep little ones stimulated. They build great bonds with the children. I love the effort they put into the events also. The food is great,
has an on-site personal chef. Nursery managers are also very approachable if you want to discuss any issues and are always quick to keep improving.

As a first-time mother, I was very nervous putting my son into full-time nursery having spent a wonderful year off on maternity leave. I can honestly say the support and communication I received through such a difficult transition period for both of us was exceptional! Presently my son is three months
into his journey at nursery and it is so heartwarming to see the relationship he has built with staff members I want to thank three staff members in particular for playing such an integral part in his development. Staff from other rooms are very friendly it’s really nice to see how they know my son's name he isn’t just another child at the nursery this attention to detail and friendly nature of each staff member shows how I made the best decision in sending my son to Norfolk House Nursery. He has flourished through such a friendly, safe environment. He now looks forward to nursery and runs inside every morning I drop him off. One of the best feelings as a mother is knowing my son is settled and happy.

I attended the Grandparents Day in 2023.
Where I made jam tarts with my granddaughter.
The staff were friendly pleasant helpful and all the children were involved nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
When I visit the area I always collect my granddaughter from nursery, I always feel welcome
and the staff always inform me what she has done throughout the day.
The nursery is clean security is good and my granddaughter is always keen to attend because the activities and trips are always hands-on.
I am pleased that my granddaughter attends this nursery.

Since September, my daughter has been attending Norfolk House Nursery and I couldn't be happier with her experience thus far. As an educator myself, I understand the importance of nurturing and high-quality early education, and Norfolk House Nursery has truly exceeded my expectations.
Not only has
my daughter grown in confidence, but she has also acquired a wide range of new skills during her time at Norfolk House. The early years curriculum provides an excellent foundation for learning. It encompasses all areas of development. I have been amazed at how quickly my daughter has absorbed new knowledge and put it into practice

The nursery is set within a welcoming environment and has small room sizes, sufficient staff cover and overlap with key workers. The hours of 7-7 suit well for working parents and the staff are very flexible with drop off and pick up times. Staff are caring, provide useful updates and progress throughout
the year and are receptive to queries and concerns. The physical environment, food, facilities and access to clubs and activities are wide-ranging.

Our 15-month-old started nursery back in January and has been absolutely loving it. He is currently in Babies Room 1, has 3 lovely people looking after him who are doing an amazing job. Three members of staff in particular are really attentive, caring, affectionate and warm to our son and he has grown
fond of them. He loves all the different activities on a daily basis from colouring, using paint and the tuff trays with so many sensory play activities. He also enjoys making different snacks, he has brought home cookies, cakes, sandwiches, pastries and much more. They also have a lovely huge outdoor garden area which he is starting to enjoy now that the weather is getting a bit more sunny. That was one of the main reasons we chose Norfolk Road Nursery for our son. The nursery managers are also very accessible, ready to answer questions and address any concerns, they have always reached out to help in any way possible.
All in all our son is loving his time here and learning so much.

Our daughter has been at Norfolk Road Nursery for almost two years and has just moved up through all the rooms. The staff have such a caring attitude, and she absolutely loves attending. It has been very relaxing to know that I can fully trust the staff to look after her, particularly during a difficult
period in our lives.
She has regular nutritious meals, and there are lots of enriching activities. The team try to help as much as possible and work together with parents very effectively. We also appreciate the availability of long opening hours.

My daughter is now in her final few months with Norfolk House, having been there since she was just a year old. The last 18 months in preschool have been her best yet; the preschool team are phenomenal and has formed the closest of bonds with every child. They challenge them, support them with new focuses
and activities and build on their ever-developing skills; I am astounded at the progress my daughter has made socially, and in terms of her learning of phonics, number recognition and so many other areas. I firmly believe the reason she has made so much progress developmentally is due to how nurtured she is by the whole team at Norfolk House Nursery, she feels happy, confident and supported at all times, which is the backbone for her last year and all of her newly acquired skills. The extracurricular activities available are also brilliant, and we sign up for everything! I can’t imagine her not being a part of Norfolk House Nursery come September, but I know it has given her the best start possible in her first four years.

My child has recently started attending Norfolk House Nursery and the transition has been nothing but exceptional. The staff are supportive, reassuring and patient which has helped my child settle into nursery far quicker than expected. The nursery offers a wide range of different activities each day,
including rhythm time and baby ballet. I would recommend this nursery to all my family and friends

Clear to see why Ofsted is consistently rating this nursery as Oustanding. My 11-month-old son has been attending the nursery for the past month and the staff have been fantastic at helping him to settle in. The activities that he is doing daily, far exceed what me and my wife could do with him at home.
I receive an in-depth handover each time we collect him and I can already see how much more developed he is than when he started (wasn't crawling before, but after 1 week of nursery has found his confidence and is now crawling confidently with numerous other development accomplishments noted).

What an amazing nursery! My son has become such a funny, confident little boy during his time at Norfolk House and I am constantly amazed at how much he has learnt. The staff are exceptionally caring and supportive. When his baby sister arrived just 3 months after he started, they had already created
such a stable, happy environment for him at nursery which was invaluable in helping him adjust to this huge change in his life and I am incredibly grateful. Other standout features include the huge inspiring garden and the regular themed stay-and-plays where I get to witness first-hand the close bonds he has developed with the staff and other children. It’s funny because Norfolk House was not actually my first choice when viewing nurseries, but I am so very glad that we chose this nursery in the end as it is clear that my son has a great time every day surrounded by people who genuinely care about him. The only problem is getting him to leave at the end of the day! Thank you Norfolk House.

My son has recently started attending Norfolk Road Nursery. We have experience of NHN as my eldest was also at the same nursery chain but in a different location. We didn’t really know what to expect when sending our youngest but we’ve always known Norfolk House nurseries are brilliant. Our recent experience
has been absolutely amazing, our little boy is settling in really well and the team in Babies 1 are just absolutely brilliant. Very welcoming, so attentive towards the babies and they do so much with them across the day. I couldn’t fault them at all. Thank you Norfolk Road, we look forward to the journey ahead.

Our daughter loves her time at Norfolk House. The staff all form genuine bonds with the children and provide so much care. The contact and feedback from all staff, and particularly her key workers, has been consistently great helping to reassure us that she is enjoying her time and making friends.
The
range of activities, classes and events means that she is always busy and helping to develop key skills.
I would recommend Norfolk House and know that our daughter has gained so much already from attending.

A really lovely, homely nursery where you feel like they really care about your child. We’ve been very happy here and our son loves it! Particularly like the additional activities they offer, e.g. forest school and toddler tennis.

We couldn't praise this nursery enough. Our son was incredibly well supported in settling in and, though this was hard for him, we felt he was in great hands and he now practically runs in, excited to start his day. The staff have been brilliant. He engages in a wide range of activities and has clearly
bonded well with staff members. Our son has some dietary needs and this has been no problem. The nursery has been very accommodating and he eats a great range of foods. The staff clearly care so much about all of the children and are exceptional in what they do.

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 58 number of registered child places is 11.6, which has been reached with 53 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hayley

Hayley Fox

Job Title: Senior Nursery Manager Joined: 2009

I am Hayley Fox, the Senior Nursery Manager. I oversee all three of our nurseries, sharing my time between them and working closely with the Nursery Managers who are responsible for their day-to-day operation. We have found that this arrangement further enhances the level of service we are able to provide and keeps us at the very forefront of Early Years education.


I have worked in Early Years education for 22 years. I started work at our Norfolk Road setting in April 2009, some five months before it opened its doors. I have therefore been able to recruit staff, plan and implement policies, and develop best practices in all areas from the Nursery’s very inception. My own daughter attended the Nursery and progressed through every age group, which has enabled me to view it from a parent’s perspective.


My team and I would be delighted to show you around our setting, explain further the service we provide and answer all your questions. Please do not hesitate to make contact me, and I look forward very much to meeting you in the future.

I started working at Norfolk House Nursery in 2011 as a Nursery Nurse. Over the years, I have progressed throughout my career transitioning from Nursery Nurse to Senior Nursery Nurse, Room Leader, Deputy Manager, and now Nursery Manager. I enjoy every minute of my time working at Norfolk House Nursery.


I believe our high standards, and passion to give all children the very best start in life is something to be proud of! We strive to give each child the best care and education that they deserve!


It has been a pleasure to meet so many lovely families during my time, which makes me so excited to become Nursery Manager at Norfolk Road after 10 years, I can’t wait!
