Norfolk House Nursery provides full-time and sessional day care for children aged three months to four-years-old, within a spacious Victorian house, that is situated close to Norfolk House School.

A team of skilled and professional childcare staff offer children the opportunity to spend all of their time learning, supporting them in a carefully developed learning environment. Staff work together ensuring that children are safe at all times as they learn and grow in a light, airy and spacious environment.

All rooms at the nursery are carefully designed and furnished with solid maple furniture and encompass a range of activity areas including: role-play, science and discovery, construction, art, wet play and literacy.

The nursery has its own secure grounds with a secret garden, log cabin, staged area and musical gazebo where children can benefit from storytelling, ball and sand pits, vegetable and plant boxes and a fruit growing area. All of these things encourage and support each child's learning and development, while offering them the chance to get fresh air and exercise regularly.

We will not be returning, but safety review systems are in place and the staff is good. We sent our one-year-old child here for a week at the end of last year. I will not be going into details but we found ourselves in an unwanted situation. Updates to staff training occurred immediately and the management
was helpful and attentive and safety reviews were performed. I cannot recommend this nursery from our own personal family experience but they have made good facilities and happy to change their training with modern and high-level policies.

We visited a number of nurseries when deciding where to send our daughter and Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road stood out head and shoulders above the rest due to the facilities and set up but mostly due to the staff, who seemed incredibly friendly and focused on the children in their care. Since
starting at the nursery, our daughter’s development has come on leaps and bounds and she is treated like a member of the family by all the staff who work there, even the ones who don’t work in her room. I feel completely at ease leaving her in the care of the amazing team there, of whom one member stands out as an incredible example.

I can’t recommend Norfolk House Nursery enough, our daughter has been there for 9 months, had not spent much time with many adults other than us because of lockdown and since starting at nursery has thrived. She loves nursery, the staff in both her rooms to date are so caring, the range of activities
is amazing and her development is coming on so much. She loves the food, the garden and just seems so happy. The nursery and staff have all been fantastic during lockdown and all its challenges, thank you all so much.

This is a great nursery, that my son really enjoys attending. My son has learnt a lot whilst he has been here and really looks forward to going to nursery in the mornings. The rooms are full of various activities for children to get on with. He has a great relationship with the staff that look after
him.
As a parent, it is great to be able to leave your child in such a caring environment and not have to worry about them. Staff and management are great at this nursery. They have their own cook on-site, who makes good, nutritious food for all the children. All staff make me and my son feel so welcomed here, they know my son's personality really well and help him grow this.
We have used this nursery since August 2017. I used this nursery for my eldest son and am currently using for my youngest son, who is in ladybirds. I highly recommend this nursery. The longer opening and closing hours also give us more flexibility when working early or late.

I highly recommend Norfolk House Nursery! Our son has just started at Norfolk House Nursery and is already settling in really well. The staff have all been so kind and caring towards him and this helped make the transition into nursery easy. His carers went the extra mile to get to know him and I felt
very reassured that he is being very well looked after in a warm, welcoming and happy environment.
We are amazed at how many imaginative activities there are available at Norfolk House, and I feel confident that the children have plenty to stimulate them throughout the week. Communication from all staff is excellent and we are kept really well updated about our son's development. The nursery has a fantastic ethos with the children at the heart of everything they do; I really can't think of anything I would change.

The nursery is so lovely and the staff are so caring and kind. Our daughter was a lockdown child so not at all used to any carers other than us and not really used to any place other than home. She took time to settle but the staff were so helpful and amazing, I called lots of times and was always given
updates. The staff were honest with me and did not sugarcoat if she had had a tricky day which meant that I trusted them when they said she had had a good day. I really appreciated this and feel she is really well cared for. I went round so many nurseries for my first daughter and couldn’t find any I liked. I feel so much better having my second child at Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road.

Our daughter has been attending Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road for nearly a year, she really loves it and can't wait to go every day. She settled in really easily in Babies 1 and made a smooth transition to Babies 2 which she also loves. The staff are all fantastic with her, really caring and
she has great fun playing and chatting with them and the other children. We couldn't recommend this nursery highly enough, big thanks to all the staff especially to those in Babies 2.

Our son is in Ladybirds and we are so happy that we chose this nursery. The team in the room are fantastic! All the staff at Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road are friendly and so obviously love what they do. The care and attention he receives has been great for his development. The staff pick up
on his interests and cover tasks that he enjoys. We appreciate the homework packs too. We’re always kept informed of our son’s progress and really value the input and advice of the team in Ladybirds. He loves his time at nursery and now that the sun is shining it is great to see the kids making the most of the wonderful garden. I would have no hesitation recommending Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road. The pandemic has been difficult for everyone but the continuity of care and resilience of the management and staff has been a Godsend.

My son is currently in Ladybirds at Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road and he has attended the nursery since he was ten months old. I cannot recommend Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road enough. The staff are great and our son is so fond of them, he considers them his friends. He is thriving there
and his development is coming on so well. Staff are great at communicating with us about his progress and areas for development, so it feels like we are all on the same page. The team have been fantastic through the pandemic and provided consistency and care for our son throughout. The best part for us though is that he walks into nursery excited and happy each day and we can’t ask for more than that. We look forward to our daughter joining soon.

Our son has been attending nursery for nearly a year and we are so pleased we chose Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road. He comes home happy and content after a day of fun activities and excellent, nutritious food. The babies two team are fantastic and provide excellent care. We especially love it
when he sings and dances along to songs that we know he has been taught during his day. We are very grateful to the team and how they have managed to maintain a brilliant and safe service throughout difficult times during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Both my children have attended Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road and loved it. My daughter most recently, who we were nervous about as she has been a ‘lockdown baby’ and sadly wasn’t taking well to new people. However, we couldn’t be more delighted at how she has settled and loves going to nursery
everyday. The Babies Two team are wonderful with her and she has so much fun doing all the activities, her face is always full of smiles at seeing them. Thank you!

Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road is an excellent nursery. Since sending our son here when he was one over a year ago, he’s grown to love the nursery and formed bonds with many of the nursery staff. They have been so supportive in helping our son and us settle in, helping in his development and providing
a caring and nurturing environment for him every day. We feel very confident every time we bring him to nursery that he will be safe but also that he will have a wonderful day filled with lots of fun activities, including extracurricular classes. The staff pay a lot of attention to making sure each child is looked after in the best possible way, including meal times, nap times and nappy changes and they give a thorough handover to parents at the end of each day, as well as listening to parents’ concerns. As a result there is excellent communication and continuity between nursery and home environment. I would highly recommend Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road to other parents.

Our daughter is currently in ladybirds at Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road. She was previously in babies one and two, our older daughter also attended and all of the rooms have been brilliant. Our daughter loves it and the staff are wonderful. She is always so happy to go and doesn’t want to leave.
The activities they create are targeted and have excellent variety. The homework packs and cookery challenges are enjoyed by all at home. We cannot praise the staff enough. In what has been an incredibly challenging year they have been cheerful and resilient. The management have been brilliant at keeping us updated and adapting to rapidly changing situations. I cannot recommend the nursery highly enough.

My boys have attended Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road since they were one year old, they are now four and I am so sad at the thought of this being their last term at Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road before school. In every single room they have been in, the staff have been amazing! They are
so loving, kind and nurturing. I feel so reassured when leaving my boys there as they have so much fun. The staff are great at informing us as parents what they have been up to in the day. The activities the staff set up and the extra curriculum activities they have to offer is fantastic. I am so happy we chose Norfolk House Nursery - Norfolk Road! I honestly will never be able to thank them enough for all their hard work and commitment, they all have a real passion for what they do. It has been the best start for our boys. Thank you!

My little girl absolutely adores staff at the nursery and looks forward to every session! Staff are professional and caring, my daughter is learning a lot of new skills. All our family are very proud of her and happy that she loves her learning journey! I believe a good nursery is a very important step
in order for the child to love school and learnings in the future! The activity plan is always communicated to parents and food for children is fresh - my daughter loves it. I support the idea of teaching kids about healthy food and showing how to cook and here Norfolk House Nursery are on the top. I cannot thank all the staff at Norfolk House Nursery enough, we are so very pleased that we found you! 100% recommend joining this nursery!

If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 58 number of registered child places is 11.6, which has been reached with 53 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hayley

Hayley Fox

Job Title: Senior Nursery Manager Joined: 2009

I am Hayley Fox, the Senior Nursery Manager. I oversee all three of our nurseries, sharing my time between them and working closely with the Nursery Managers who are responsible for their day-to-day operation. We have found that this arrangement further enhances the level of service we are able to provide and keeps us at the very forefront of Early Years education.


I have worked in Early Years education for 22 years. I started work at our Norfolk Road setting in April 2009, some five months before it opened its doors. I have therefore been able to recruit staff, plan and implement policies, and develop best practices in all areas from the Nursery’s very inception. My own daughter attended the Nursery and progressed through every age group, which has enabled me to view it from a parent’s perspective.


My team and I would be delighted to show you around our setting, explain further the service we provide and answer all your questions. Please do not hesitate to make contact me, and I look forward very much to meeting you in the future.

I started working at Norfolk House Nursery in 2011 as a Nursery Nurse. Over the years, I have progressed throughout my career transitioning from Nursery Nurse to Senior Nursery Nurse, Room Leader, Deputy Manager, and now Nursery Manager. I enjoy every minute of my time working at Norfolk House Nursery.


I believe our high standards, and passion to give all children the very best start in life is something to be proud of! We strive to give each child the best care and education that they deserve!


It has been a pleasure to meet so many lovely families during my time, which makes me so excited to become Nursery Manager at Norfolk Road after 10 years, I can’t wait!
