Norfolk House Nursery provides full-time and sessional day care for children aged three months to four-years-old, within a spacious Victorian house, that is situated close to Norfolk House School.

A team of skilled and professional childcare staff offer children the opportunity to spend all of their time learning, supporting them in a carefully developed learning environment. Staff work together ensuring that children are safe at all times as they learn and grow in a light, airy and spacious environment.

All rooms at the nursery are carefully designed and furnished with solid maple furniture and encompass a range of activity areas including: role-play, science and discovery, construction, art, wet play and literacy.

The nursery has its own secure grounds with a secret garden, log cabin, staged area and musical gazebo where children can benefit from storytelling, ball and sand pits, vegetable and plant boxes and a fruit growing area. All of these things encourage and support each child's learning and development, while offering them the chance to get fresh air and exercise regularly.

My son loves the nursery, the key workers are so caring and helpful and they have helped my son grow in confidence, skills and behaviours. There's a great open outdoor area, with lots to do.

A wonderful nursery that is incredibly well-run and the staff really care. My son gets so excited when we drop him off. He really enjoys his time here. He has gluten and dairy allergies and the chef caters no problem, and the staff are all aware and are so vigilant. When playing/cooking they also always
ensure he is included and has safe options. Excellent safeguarding policies are in place and lots of stay and play activities and opportunities. The garden/outdoor space is absolutely incredible.

My Grandson started the nursery last year. I dropped him off and collected him on a couple of occasions. The first time not long after he started I left upset as he was crying. I was contacted soon after to reassure me he had settled. I was extremely grateful. The few times I have collected him he has
always appeared happy and has clearly had a lovely day. He loves the outdoors and gets plenty of opportunities to explore the lovely garden.
The whole experience of dropping him off is very different now. It starts at home when his nursery bag comes out, he picks it up and goes to the door, which wasn't great when he saw it before the nursery is even open.
He is a very chatty boy and has clearly enjoyed learning whilst at the nursery.

Staff are great and really look after the kids.
There is great outdoor space and a general vibe that they want the kids to enjoy themselves and enjoy learning.
The only shame is the waiting list to actually get in! I wished we’d have got in sooner.

Simply amazing. The staff provide a loving and nurturing environment for children. My son enjoys his time at nursery and is always happy to go. They take extra care of every child’s well-being, showing concern and providing support. When my son has been unwell, they have cared for him, and when he has
been home, they have called to ask about his progress. The activities arranged by staff for children clearly show they have thought about the children’s needs and the key knowledge and experience they want the children to learn. They provide extra support for children’s developmental needs, for example, by supporting and addressing a particular need of a child. My son learnt to take off his seat belt whilst I was driving, he would then try to come into the front. Staff have supported my son to understand the dangers and requirements, and he has significantly improved.
It is a great nursery under excellent management.

Our son has been at Norfolk for nearly two years now and we have had a brilliant experience with them. He is well looked after and is learning so much and gaining so much confidence every week. This nursery is brilliant. All staff are very pleasant and all children appear to enjoy their day. We always have a very thorough handover at the end of each day, which provides comfort to know our child has been cared after appropriately. This is a great nursery with great people running it.

Although the staff are lovely, I don’t believe they’re very consistent with their approach to providing care for my child or their approach with filling in my child’s daily book/medical paperwork etc. I find myself calling quite regularly to get further information on things I usually ask for on a daily
basis as it’s not always the same person managing the room/my child.


I also find the technology is quite outdated when it comes to requesting pictures of my child throughout the day and the activities they’ve been involved in etc.


The parent app currently has not benefited me as a parent; it doesn’t have any real sufficient information about child’s development etc and all ‘news’ messages are emailed to parents anyway so it’s just a duplication of information but again, it’s not of all events taking place that impact my child as I’m asked about the adhoc event days either in person or given a letter about the event as it can require additional payments etc.

Brilliant staff - have been really great in helping to settle 10-month-old into Babies 1 room at the beginning of the year.
They show care and attention to the babies, and my little one loves baking with one member of staff. The room leaders always have plenty of messy activities to keep the babies
entertained, which is fab!

Very happy with the service and care provided to both my children at this nursery.

The nursery was amazing when we settled our 11-month-old. They were so kind and thoughtful. They made his transition to nursery a happy experience with being so caring and supportive. My son transferred to Norfolk House from another nursery I wasn't happy with. The staff were incredibly nice and reassuring and they have looked after him incredibly well since he joined. The managers are always reliable and easy to contact.

Absolutely amazing nursery. The love and care that the staff show to the children is undeniable! My eldest son went to nursery here, followed by his younger brother (who still attends) and I must say it is one of the best decisions I have ever made for my boys. Keep doing what you are doing ladies.

Our child has been at the nursery for over two years since Babies 1, Now in pre-school who are doing an excellent job. She loved every room and the journey has helped her flourish in all the activities in nursery. Our child loves the daily meals provided. The team go out of its way to go above the usual

Norfolk House Nursery has been absolutely wonderful in nurturing my two children. My daughter attended between the age of 2-5 and my son has been there since the age of 2 also. They have both been in preschool for the duration of their time there. All the staff there are wonderful and know all their
children personally. It's a joy to see the children having a great time through play and learning. I have always recommended this nursery to friends and family and will continue to do so. Thank you, Norfolk House Nursery.

Our son joined the nursery at the end of last year. He wasn't really himself for the first couple of weeks due to moving house and starting a new nursery all at once but the staff really helped us get him settled and made the whole transition so much easier. He now runs into the babies room with his
arms up in the air and always has a smile on his face when we collect him at the end of the day! We also thought he might have a food intolerance and everyone was very accommodating, taking the time to document what he'd been eating and notifying us if he had any bad reactions. Overall would definitely recommend this nursery. Very friendly staff and beautiful facilities!

A perfect environment for my son. Can't ask for more. The preschool staff are amazing and for my son, it's the second home. The best part is the staff.

We've had a wonderful experience sending our first child to Norfolk House. All the staff were so supportive during his settling in. Everyone who has been involved with looking after him really does seem to genuinely care about him which is so reassuring. His development has come on so much since starting

Hayley Fox

Job Title: Senior Nursery Manager Joined: 2009

I am Hayley Fox, the Senior Nursery Manager. I oversee all three of our nurseries, sharing my time between them and working closely with the Nursery Managers who are responsible for their day-to-day operation. We have found that this arrangement further enhances the level of service we are able to provide and keeps us at the very forefront of Early Years education.


I have worked in Early Years education for 22 years. I started work at our Norfolk Road setting in April 2009, some five months before it opened its doors. I have therefore been able to recruit staff, plan and implement policies, and develop best practices in all areas from the Nursery’s very inception. My own daughter attended the Nursery and progressed through every age group, which has enabled me to view it from a parent’s perspective.


My team and I would be delighted to show you around our setting, explain further the service we provide and answer all your questions. Please do not hesitate to make contact me, and I look forward very much to meeting you in the future.

I started working at Norfolk House Nursery in 2011 as a Nursery Nurse. Over the years, I have progressed throughout my career transitioning from Nursery Nurse to Senior Nursery Nurse, Room Leader, Deputy Manager, and now Nursery Manager. I enjoy every minute of my time working at Norfolk House Nursery.


I believe our high standards, and passion to give all children the very best start in life is something to be proud of! We strive to give each child the best care and education that they deserve!


It has been a pleasure to meet so many lovely families during my time, which makes me so excited to become Nursery Manager at Norfolk Road after 10 years, I can’t wait!
