Greengables Day Nursery, in Sandhurst, has been purpose-built to offer a spacious and comfortable learning environment for children. They have also obtained their Silver Eco-Schools Award.

All children get daily access to the well-resourced garden as the nursery recognises the positive impact that outdoor play has on a child's social, emotional and physical development.

Greengables Day Nursery also offer the extracurricular activity of Usports every Wednesday for the Preschool room.

The nursery is open from 7.30 to 6.30 and offers a fully inclusive package, helping to support busy parents through an exceptional service.

I have been impressed by this nursery. My son seems to enjoy it and we get regular updates via an app which is reassuring. They also include short videos of him when he achieves a development goal. This is lovely to view during my working day.
I would recommend them.

Greengables is a great nursery. Our daughter has been going since she was 13 months old and is now nearly 3. The way they have handled the Covid pandemic has been brilliant with excellent communication throughout. Thank you to all the staff and especially those in Bumblebees! Couldn’t recommend the

Amazing place and fantastic people. My daughter started in the baby room, now she's in pre-school. All rooms are great and support the child's development - from speech and building up confidence to potty training. Would highly recommend. Our little boy will be starting soon too.

A lovely well run nursery who care for each and every child individually. Always there to help and I feel more than happy that my twins have had the best start with the help of the wonderful staff. Could not recommend more.

My daughter has been attending Greengables Day Nursery since she was 9 months old, following the challenging decision on what nursery to use! I chose Greengables as the building was purpose-built and the staff I met were friendly and they provide everything you need (food/nappies etc). Fast forward
2 years and she is still there and enjoying nursery each week!
Additionally, the way they managed lockdown and the support they provided to myself and my daughter was fantastic!
I continue to recommend this nursery to my friends.

My daughter currently attends Greengables in the pre-school room and has been going to the nursery from 9-months-old. They are a fantastic nursery with staff who really invest in the children and seemingly enjoy their jobs. From her keyworker to the admin team to the chef, my daughter seems to have
a connection with any team member she comes across.
Throughout the changes that have been enforced due to covid, what could have been a scary time for the children, has been dealt with brilliantly at every turn, and I never have any doubts about her wellbeing when I drop her off and look forward to her telling me about all the exciting things she has achieved when I pick her up! Well done to the manager and team and a special mention to one of the girls in pre-school!

My son started at Greengables almost one month ago now, after viewing several nurseries this one felt right immediately! The staff are so helpful and welcoming, and my very clingy 2-year-old son has settled much quicker than I ever thought he would. I’ve recommended this nursery to a few mummy friends
and will continue to do so. It’s lovely to go to work and not worry if he’s ok! He comes out so happy every single day, the updates online with pictures are amazing too and lovely to see he’s having a great time.
His keyworker has been outstanding and helped immensely with his settling in period.
I’m so glad I chose Greengables Day Nursery.

My son started at Greengables in June 2020 and has come on so well in the last 4-months. This has been due to the lovely staff who have helped him settle in and provided a caring and supportive environment. His speaking and vocabulary have improved dramatically along with his social skills, and it is
such a delight to see. Particularly as he lost a lot of his confidence during lockdown when it came to interacting with other children. The staff communication is excellent with daily handovers and a weekly newsletter, which tells you all the learning activities they have been doing during the week. Drop off and pick up is well organised as well with social distancing measures in place. There is a nutritious tasty menu, and since going to Greengables, my son has become much more adventurous with his food. My son really enjoys going to nursery and returns home very happy, full of new words and eager to try new things and learn.

We are very happy with this nursery and fortunate that our child can be cared for by this nursery. Keyworkers and carers are brilliant and very helpful for our child's development. They are very approachable if we need to discuss our child's strengths and weaknesses; they are happy to listen and adjust
his development plan if we feel that we need extra help with a weakness area. Some of the carers are very informative at pick up time in terms of giving you daily feedback on your child's day. The nursery is always open to feedback and suggestions, and we know they take seriously the parents' observations, recommendations, complaints etc. All in all, we are very happy here.

After looking at what seemed like a million nurseries over a period of about 2-months, Greengables was the last nursery I looked at and was by far the best! Honestly, nothing I saw could even slightly compare. The whole atmosphere of the nursery is perfect for children of all ages and abilities. When
my little one started here, he couldn't walk or talk and was scared of everything, but Greengables has completely transformed him and has helped him develop in so many ways. They care about each individual child, and their needs and everything is so personal. I couldn't recommend Greengables enough!

Our daughter started at Greengables back in August, and even though we are not allowed into the building, the amazing staff have made us feel so reassured and comfortable. The staff have been so kind, welcoming and friendly and are always updating us. I highly recommend this nursery.

Super nursery. My daughter attended during the lockdown, and she has been so happy from her first day and has stayed despite our lengthy round trip. The manager and team do a fantastic job, and the quality of the activities, education and planning to the quality and variety in the meals provided (hats
off to a probably under-appreciated chef) has been superb. The staff have coped and managed the children so well with the new world and rules, and the administrative team have been very supportive in our transition to funding at 3-years, and I anticipate will be with our future move up to ‘big school’. My son attended this nursery prior to attending school. During his time, he was always eager to attend and excited to go. He has started this school and has taken to it very well. He has taken the whole transition in his stride, and I am in no doubt that this is down to the amazing staff that cared

Our daughter started here two years ago after moving into the area. I can't praise this nursery enough. They are supportive and encouraging. Each child is treated as an individual. The staff and management are excellent. Communication is fantastic. The events held really give parents an opportunity
to be a part of nursery life. The use of the app to see photos and reports is really useful. The staff are really engaging and you get the impression that they genuinely enjoy their jobs. Staff turnover is not high, a testament to the company. If I had more children, I would send them here in a heartbeat.

My son has been attending Greengables since May 2017 and has thrived there. The team are very attentive, positive, engaging and focus on play as well as developing the children with their language, writing and knowledge on all sorts of things, including the fact that you can’t burp in space or at least

The staff care. Genuinely want to connect with each child, get to know them. We had worried about my daughter moving from her previous childcare setting and she had a history of finding it difficult to settle. Best part of 2 years on and she's confident and she is completely prepared for big school
next week. She can write well (for a 4-year-old) and is so excited to learn. When she has had a quiet or sad day, they look after her like I would want on a down day. When she's crazy/excited they bounce off her energy. I think they have gotten the mix of staff just right here to be adaptable to any situation or mood. COVID times have been rubbish but my daughter certainly hasn't felt it. Sad to be leaving but my youngest will definitely be making an appearance when the time comes.

I cannot praise Greengables enough for the great work they do. The premises is always sparkling clean which must be so tough to do with so many sticky hands around. The food they have is exceptional and the chefs are as caring as the room staff. My son went from 9 months until he left for school and
was in every room. The staff made him feel comfortable, he thoroughly enjoyed his time and learnt so much. My daughter is there now and wow what a difference in child since she’s been there. Her confidence is through the roof. The fees I think are exceptional for the amount of love and care the children get. The parents app is top class and I can see what she is up to all day long from nappy changes to the videos of the activities she does. The smile on her face at the end of every day just shows the kind of place it is. Would recommend to anyone and pro actively do so.

Julia Grant

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2015

Julia is the Manager of Greengables Day Nursery in Owlsmoor and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for over 20 years. Julia joined Childbase in 2015 as a Deputy Manager at Greengables and later transferred to West Downs to take on the role of Nursery Manager, at another Childbase Nursery. Julia has now returned to Greengables as Manager.


What is your favourite feature of Greengables?
I love that Greengables is all on one level with every room having its own access to its own decks and garden.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
I love the team culture at Greengables, everyone looks out for each other.
