Children 1st Plumtree Nursery School is situated in the village of Plumtree, close to the A606 and the A52.

The nursery has been extensively refurbished indoors and outdoors to provide a truly unique learning environment with designated areas for babies, toddlers, early years and children aged up to 12-years-old.

The children benefit from eating healthy food to help fuel the development of their young minds and bodies.

The nursery's friendly, enthusiastic staff are fully trained and very experienced. Child to staff ratios are lower than Ofsted requirements.

Children are encouraged to choose their own activity with a huge variety of options both indoors and outside in the garden.

The nursery offers funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.

Children 1st @ Plumtree is amazing. The management team are so supportive and always goes the extra mile for our family. My eldest used to attend before going to school and my youngest is currently in setting now. All throughout both of my children’s time at Children 1st the staff have been wonderful,
providing outstanding care and teaching and learning throughout. I highly recommend Children 1st @ Plumtree.

Our daughter has been attending Children 1st @ Plumtree since she was 11 months old. She's now nearly 2 and a half and still loves going to nursery! All the staff are amazing and she's formed close bonds with key workers in each room she's been in. It's so lovely to see her thriving and learning new
things each week, as well as making friends and gaining her independence! Returning to work after a year of maternity leave was hard, but knowing my daughter was being looked after in such a brilliant and caring environment really helped. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a childcare setting for their little one.

I chose the nursery as my friend recommended it and I couldn’t be happier with them. All the staff are friendly and always have time to talk about any worries.
The environment is lovely, they have lots of different areas inside and it’s always very clean. The garden is very big and my kids love playing
out there everyday. They go out twice a day at least. The nursery have different themes each week, which is fun and interesting for the children. They are always excited to go in and they learn a lot. I would 100% recommend them!

My daughter attended Children's 1st Plumtree from 1 year to 4 years and she made some incredible friends, not only with the children but the staff also. She came on in leaps and bounds throughout each class so it was a no-brainer to start my son here at 6 months. He's now 16 months and is loved by all
the staff and they've brought out his character so well. We've never had an issue and both kids always looked forward to a day at nursery. I cannot recommend them enough!

I couldn’t have imagined feeling so comfortable leaving my daughter at nursery. She absolutely loves her time there and has formed a really special bond with all of her key workers. They work so hard to get to know the children individually so I feel really comfortable that they would know straight

Our little girl has attended from 9 months old and gradually increased her attendance, she settled well and is always happy to go, we are very protective and as her guardians we have had her from birth, Children 1st have been superb in every way, we are able to bring minor concerns to them as well as
suggestions on how they can improve the facilities and care, they are always interested and apply changes and make improvements almost immediately. We leave our child with them in full confidence that she is happy, well cared for and nurtured, her progress is amazing and her confidence and sociability is coming on leaps and bounds. Making such an important choice is hard and we are fortunate that with Children 1st we got it right first time.

I have only good things to say about Children 1st Plumtree. The staff are amazing and really care about the children. The facilities are fantastic and way better than any of the other nurseries we looked at in the local area. Our daughter absolutely loves the time she spends at nursery and I have always
been super happy and comfortable with the way she has been looked after.

We cannot recommend Children 1st @ Plumtree Day Nursery enough. Our daughter started when she was 6 months old and as a first-time mother, I was anxious as to how she would settle. The staff were so incredibly kind and attentive and my daughter formed strong bonds with her carers very quickly. We have

My son with multiple food allergies has been attending this nursery since he was 1 year old and I have to say I could not have chosen a better nursery! The staff and management are approachable, caring, compassionate and communicate effectively. My son has been included and kept safe whilst at nursery
and has always been catered for by the brilliant cook. I cannot thank the staff enough! He really enjoys eating at nursery and has a variety of meals, starters and puddings. The team here have taught him so many important life skills and educated him about the wider world. The nursery environment is fun and stimulating and the playgrounds and facilities are very exciting! I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.

We love Children 1st Plumtree. Our daughter has been there since she was 10 months old, and she’s currently in Early Years, before starting school in September. She has loved every room and bonded very well with each key worker. The staff are very communicative, supportive, honest and proud. She has
really come on from an education perspective too and remembers and improves on lots of topics. I would highly recommend this nursery and will be excited for our second daughter’s chapter to start later this year.

Our daughter has been going to Children 1st @ Plumtree Day Nursery from the age of 1 and we have been really pleased with the service we have received as a family from the staff here, as well as the individual care and attention our daughter has received in each 'class' as she's grown up through the
nursery. The level of emphasis that is put into education and child development is very impressive and I'm sure is above and beyond what is necessary from an early years provider. We are very confident that our daughter attending Children 1st will put her at an advantage when starting education. The facilities are fantastic too - on our first tour of the nursery we knew this would be a place children would love coming to. Another really impressive aspect of the nursery is the regular communications and interaction parents receive through the apps.

Both of our children have attended Children 1st from when they were around the age of 1-year-old. Our eldest is now at school and our youngest is in Early Years. We have always been extremely happy with the standard of care and attention our children have been given. The staff are always friendly and
I feel the children are able to build relationships with the staff that makes it so they are happy and confident in their care. Our children have always been happy to go into nursery to see staff and their friends and I feel both have grown so much in confidence as a result of attending Children 1st. We have always been extremely impressed with the facilities, both indoor and out and whilst we could move our youngest to a pre-school, we feel that the environment at Children 1st can not be beaten! The children get to take part in a wide range of activities, try out different sports like didi Rugby and have fun with dress-up days!

My son has been going to Children 1st @ Plumtree Day Nursery since 2018 as he loves it!
The staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The overall experience has been brilliant, with extra activities included each term.
He’s had such a wonderful experience there and I know he’s going to miss it

Our son has been at this nursery since he was 1 and he is now 4 and in his last year there. The nursery staff have always been great and kept us regularly updated about how he is getting on. He loves his current early years teacher and all the staff in the room, and they have really helped him come
out of his shell. He comes home full of stories of the day. The staff have managed the pandemic well with lots of communication throughout. I would highly recommend Children 1st @ Plumtree Day Nursery to anyone.

I can’t thank Children 1st @ Plumtree Day Nursery enough for how they helped with settling my child into their nursery. I absolutely love this nursery!
My daughter has been at this nursery since being 1. She’s been there for a year now! She loves nursery which is the biggest thing for me, she’s settled well and will go to any of the staff members, they are all lovely.
The different rooms for the children are great
and they do lots of fun learning activities for them.
Cant recommended the nursery enough! Thanks all for looking after my daughter so well.

Emma Neale

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2011

Hello, my name is Emma Neale and I am Nursery Manager at Children 1st @ Plumtree.


I began working for Children 1st in April 2011 and since joining I have had the opportunity to grow and develop myself starting my career as a Nursery Nurse, then becoming a Senior Nursery Nurse and a ‘training and development worker’ progressing to Assistant Nursery Manager, and now Nursery Manager.


My favourite part of the job is seeing how the children learn and grow. I love being part of their nursery lives making sure they get the best start.
