Every single member of staff at this nursery is brilliant! My son has settled in so well and is very happy with all the staff!
There is always a fun activity going on and the facilities are excellent and spotless - with brilliant food!
The diary that the staff fill in daily with nap times, everything
they have eaten, nappy changes and their day's activities is such an excellent way for a parent to see what their child has been up to! The staff always take time to tell you about your child's day! I couldn't fault this nursery and I feel like my son is in the best hands! It is miles ahead of the rest! Well done to the manager and team!

Staff, management and facilities are great. I particularly enjoy getting the email updates at work as to what they've been up to that day.

It's hard to put into words how amazing this nursery is.
I have two children there and I couldn't be happier with the love, care and education they receive.
Without exception, each member of staff goes above and beyond and genuinely care about the children and their families. Nothing is ever too
much for them and they do everything with a smile.
The setting is truly fabulous and the outdoor area is amazing!
My daughter who is now in early years started at 5 months and goes full time - she is exposed to fantastic learning as well as 'Funky Feet' seasons and Tennis lessons - which she loves!
I will never be able to thank the staff enough for all that they do.
The nursery manager runs the nursery with so much passion and attention to detail.
My children are happy, loved and well fed, every single day - what more can you ask for?

Our son loves the nursery. There's so much to do. The staff are brilliant and look after him so well. The food is very good and there are plenty of exciting rooms for him to explore as he moves through the nursery.

The children were all very excited for Christmas as children of my daughter's age are much more aware of what Christmas is all about. They were all involved in a great nativity play all having a role, lots of songs and my daughter is still singing the songs from that play now. They did some great art
and craft activities for Christmas such as cards, tree decorations, calendars and pictures. They interact very well with each other and know other children's names including surnames. They've been trying Christmas turkey dinners and really getting in the spirit of fun at Christmas.

I was so anxious about returning to work and leaving my daughter, but I really had nothing to worry about. Since starting nursery in Sept 2017, she has thrived and massively grown in confidence. The carers at Children 1st have been so kind and supportive of all my initial concerns I had in leaving her
and she clearly loves going there.
I would highly recommend Children 1st.

My daughter has settled so well into nursery. I can see that she loves her time there, she's always happy and smiley when I drop her and pick her up. It's fantastic to see how much she is developing in your care.

We have had a difficult run in illnesses but the care from all the staff has been first

class. You really do treat her like your own and I can't tell you enough how comforting this is to my husband and I.

My parents have also commented how lovely, happy and calm the nursery is when they do the pick up for us.

I have already told friends how good Childrens 1st @ Plumtree is and another mum on the estate where we live has sent her little boy to you too!

Big thank you to you all for making our first few months so easy, happy and enjoyable.

The staff at Children's 1st @ Plumtree are exemplary. They are committed, caring and loving towards every single child.
Our daughter started her journey at Plumtree in August 2016. She was 10 months old and was very attached to both myself and her dad and we were very worried that she wouldn't settle
in. Now, 8 months on - our little girl is confident, very chatty and independent. The staff have shown her so much love that she now feels safe when we drop her off. Without the dedication of the staff and effective communication, this would not have been possible. The rooms are broken down into a variety of age ranges so that teaching and care is very age-specific. The facilities are all brand new and of the best quality, with a continuous emphasis on parental involvement through secure access to my daughter's learning with an app; of photos, videos and notes to know what she's up to as it happens. We look forward to continuing our daughter's journey at Children's 1st @ Plumtree.

Children 1st @ Plumtree has a lovely, friendly atmosphere and my daughter and I have been made to feel incredibly welcome. I like the fact that the building is light and airy and has good garden space. There is a good range of activities on offer and she seems to be learning and having fun every day.
The staff are great and it's nice to see her interacting with them every day.

We are extremely happy with the care that our son receives at Children 1st. The staff are excellent and very supportive, as well as encouraging him to develop and learn in a safe and secure environment. We will be very sad in September when he leaves to go to school as he has been going since he was
7 months only and loves every day he is there. The staff are always on hand at the end of the day to let us know how he has been, and there are a variety of topics for him to engage in which he thoroughly enjoys. Keep up the great work team.

We have entrusted Plumtree Children 1st with both of our daughters. The nursery has always been outstanding, in our opinion and as they have arguably the most important job in the world, this is a crucial thing! Since our youngest has been there, it has gone from strength to strength - somehow exceeding
our previous expectations. Every morning she runs down that corridor in glee! Sometimes she doesn't want to come home. Today according to her log book, she fed a real bunny rabbit and dressed up as a builder! Now what better day could there be than that?

Since my now 19 month old son has been attending Plumtree Children 1st, his social interaction, development and character have blossomed. His keyworker is easily his favourite person and it is lovely to see the relationship he has with another person outside of the family unit. We have been supported
as a family to have an excellent interaction with the nursery and the staff employed there. It is clear that our little boy is known by all the staff and loves to be greeted as an individual. His needs are clearly supported and encouragement is always evident. Having previously used childminder's, we were apprehensive about what we imagined to be a larger, less personal setting where the nurture of our little boy would not be as thorough as in a smaller setting with one caregiver. Every member of staff at Plumtree has proved our apprehension to be unfounded. We all love this nursery and extend our gratitude to everyone for their attention and input in the upbringing of our child.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.883)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.883) out of 10 for Children 1st Plumtree Nursery School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.883 for Children 1st Plumtree Nursery School is calculated as follows: ( (407 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 454 Ratings = 4.883
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Children 1st Plumtree Nursery School is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 143 number of registered child places is 28.6, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2011

Hello, my name is Emma Neale and I am Nursery Manager at Children 1st @ Plumtree.

I began working for Children 1st in April 2011 and since joining I have had the opportunity to grow and develop myself starting my career as a Nursery Nurse, then becoming a Senior Nursery Nurse and a ‘training and development worker’ progressing to Assistant Nursery Manager, and now Nursery Manager.

My favourite part of the job is seeing how the children learn and grow. I love being part of their nursery lives making sure they get the best start.
