Children 1st Plumtree Nursery School is situated in the village of Plumtree, close to the A606 and the A52.

The nursery has been extensively refurbished indoors and outdoors to provide a truly unique learning environment with designated areas for babies, toddlers, early years and children aged up to 12-years-old.

The children benefit from eating healthy food to help fuel the development of their young minds and bodies.

The nursery's friendly, enthusiastic staff are fully trained and very experienced. Child to staff ratios are lower than Ofsted requirements.

Children are encouraged to choose their own activity with a huge variety of options both indoors and outside in the garden.

The nursery offers funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4-year-olds.

Overall I’m really pleased with the Nursery, however, found it hard after watching the induction video regarding equality that then there was an additional charge for happy feet’s on a Tuesday if I wanted my child to attend! I do not agree with this, all children should be treated equally especially
at this age and when you’re already spending £50 a day! My daughter moved from my Work Nursery purely due to the location they had tiny talk and various other visiting organisations and all children were welcome and there were no additional fees. I did feed this back to the management and asked for this to be fed back to the company.

From the first time we visited the nursery we knew it was the right place for our son. We have now been with the nursery for 3 months and he loves it. The staff are all great, so friendly and caring. Our son is learning and developing all the time.

I could not feel more comfortable leaving my daughter at nursery. I was hesitant at first but she now loves going and the staff are amazing with her. It has loads of activities to offer and my daughter is learning all the time with friends. She gets great food too - now I think of it, I want to go for
a day!
Also - myself and fiancé both work shifts and occasionally request to swap days which helps when it can happen.

My 10 month old has settled in really quickly in the baby room. He's only on his 2nd week. He's so happy at nursery. It's clear he loves it already. Massive thank you to all of the staff who have helped him settle so well.

I am very pleased with plumtree nursery, my child enjoys going twice a week. The management and staff are fantastic, very helpful and show interest in my son. In the past 5 months of going to plumtree nursery, my son has come on in leaps and bounds. I've never had any kind of issue what so ever with
the nursery. The nursery nurses work so hard with the children and notice every drop-off and pick up. I've recommended the nursery to a friend mine which her child started a couple of weeks ago. A fantastic nursery 10 out of 10

Our daughter has been attending nursery here for 6 months. Since starting she has grown into a bright and confident toddler. She loves the staff and always greets everyone there with a big smile. The staff are so attentive and support your child in their development. There is a wide variety of toys
and activities to help your child explore and learn. The meal plan is very varied and balanced. I’m delighted with the nursery and our daughter loves it. It’s so good to know she’s happy and well looked after while we’re at work.

My daughter is very happy at nursery. She has a fantastic bond with her keyworkers and feels safe and happy whilst there. She has made friends with her peers and talks with enthusiasm about ‘my nursery’. Staff are wonderful, experienced and caring. Facilities excellent and communication between nursery
and ourselves is excellent too. A wonderful nursery very well managed by the manager and her team, which I would wholeheartedly recommend.

Both of our children have attended Children 1st @ Plumtree and have been very impressed with the care and facilities at the nursery. Our youngest son has been with you just over a year and is thriving, becoming more sociable and chatty all the time! Thank you for all the hard work you do to make it

Children 1st @ Plumtree is an exceptional nursery. Their kind and friendly staff are always saying hello to you by name and making you feel welcome at all times.
The diaries are a great idea which gives parents an exact idea of what your child has eaten, how long they have slept etc. I love the Eylog
app so I can see pictures of my little girl which really makes me smile and is reassuring that she is enjoying herself!

Emma Neale

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2011

Hello, my name is Emma Neale and I am Nursery Manager at Children 1st @ Plumtree.


I began working for Children 1st in April 2011 and since joining I have had the opportunity to grow and develop myself starting my career as a Nursery Nurse, then becoming a Senior Nursery Nurse and a ‘training and development worker’ progressing to Assistant Nursery Manager, and now Nursery Manager.


My favourite part of the job is seeing how the children learn and grow. I love being part of their nursery lives making sure they get the best start.
