There were a few inconsistencies with the frequency of updates provided on the app, sometimes we would go weeks without an update and then several in the space of a week. Pickups were sometimes a little disorganised where no particular staff member could give me a detailed description of what our son had done during the day, whereas some days the members of staff were more thorough and able to provide more insight into his day which was always helpful.
Overall I'd recommend the nursery to other parents, the staff are caring of the children, our son very happy, and the events throughout the year (Christmas and Halloween parties for example) are a welcome addition as well!
Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely review about our nursery. I am sorry to hear that you feel there were some inconsistencies in the app and feedback. I will ensure that we reflect on this and make any improvements for our families in the future. I wish you and your family well with your relocation.
We have loved this nursery from the very start, brilliant setting, good food and caring staff who my son had such close bonds with. Would highly recommend to any prospective parents.
This is a brilliant nursery and it is only because of a geographical change that we sadly had to remove our 15-month-old daughter. It was a real sadness to have to leave as she had settled and was happy there. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, both on reception and in the classroom itself. It is so hard to leave your child all day but I knew she was in good hands and her development came on leaps and bounds whilst she was there. The facilities are amazing and the classroom and outdoor play area is so spacious with great equipment. I'd highly recommend this nursery.
Due to a change in circumstances, we have had to change childcare providers. My child started at Windmill Hill Nursery when they were nine months old and left shortly before their 2nd birthday. We were extremely saddened to have made this decision as my child loved their time here, as they thrived in the environment whilst being encouraged to develop their social skills and outgoing personality. The front desk was always managed by people who greeted the children with a smile and hello, and the same goes for the end of the day.
A great support system within the nursery. My son was there since I started work at seven months. Great care, great food, kids enjoy all the activities. My son made so many friends and made lovely relationships in every room he attended. His key worker was better than amazing. This really is a great nursery, we are grateful for your support and dedication.
My daughter absolutely loves this nursery. She has built very good relationships with other children and staff over the years. As a result of this, her social skills and awareness are fantastic. The staff are all so loving and personable towards her and I, as a parent, found them great to talk to and very approachable. Communication with the parent is very good and consists of verbal and electronic updates. I really felt that attending this nursery has given my daughter a great foundation for her future education and I will always be grateful to them.
My daughter has recently left Windmill Hill to start school. She has been there for 4 years and has come on so much, from learning to walk to not being a fussy eater anymore. She has had some struggles over the years and the nursery has been so supportive through it all. They have always been there to help. She has so much confidence and she has made some life long friends too. I love that fruit is there for them to help themselves and my daughter would always have an apple for the car ride home.
Our twin daughters really enjoyed their time at Windmill. I give credit to the wonderful staff and front desk who would always greet our girls with a smile each morning. What also stood out for me, was how the staff were always genuinely caring and kept us fully up to date with things. I loved the parent app it was heartwarming to see my girls enjoying their daily activities whilst I was at work. As parents, we both saw a huge growth in confidence and skills in both girls during their time at this fabulous nursery. Thank you all.
My child truly enjoyed their time with the nursery. From the start all of the staff showed great care and consideration for my child. Leaving your children is a difficult thing to do. The team supported me with the process in the early days and my child's enthusiasm to go reassured me she was in safe hands. I found they give the children a good range of activities and the menu choices were always a big hit. I would highly recommend Windmill Hill if you are looking for a safe but educational environment for your little one.
Starting back in 2012, we have always had at least one (and for a short period 2) of our boys there full time.
We can honestly say that throughout the entire last 7 years, our experience with the nursery and its staff has been nothing but excellent. Exuding a nature that is caring and nurturing, our boys have always felt safe and secure.
From the admin/reception team to the managers, and the boy's various key workers over the years, all have been outstanding.
My son attended Windmill Hill from 9 months until 3 1/2 years old. He had a great time and made so many friends there. The staff were friendly and were knowledgeable about child development. There was good communication with parents and the weekly newsletter provides a good overview of the weekly activities. My son enjoyed the extra specialist sessions such as football club, tots tennis and dancing. The administration staff were so welcoming, especially one in particular who was always cheerful and helped to sort out admin problems. We will miss the nursery.
My daughter joined Windmill Hill preschool room in January 2019 after her previous nursery was closed down. All the staff made her feel welcome from the first moment she arrived and she's loved being there. All the staff are friendly, informative and trustworthy and I was never in doubt that she would be well taken care of. The early years education they provided was excellent - She often came home telling me what new things she had learnt. The parent portal is great so I could see what she had been up to. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone.
A fantastic nursery and preschool who really care for and bring out the best in their children. Our son has enjoyed every day of his 4 and a half years and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the nursery to any new parent.
This nursery has been beyond amazing. My daughter has flourished and found so many new interests from French to bugs and insects. It’s so varied and the staff are the best there is. I genuinely can’t think of a bad thing to say.
The nursery has been great, the staff are fantastic. My daughter has learnt so much and is ready to start school. Couldn't ask for much more. A massive thank you.
My son absolutely loved his time at this nursery. He started with Windmill Hill when he was not even 2 years old and now he is going to school this year being very well prepared and confident. A huge thank you to all the nursery staff for their hard work and patience.
Windmill Hill have provided our daughter with a wonderful pre school experience. They have encouraged her to flourish and grow in confidence alongside her peers as well as prepare her for school. They have identified her strengths and have used them to develop areas of need. Our daughter has been extremely happy in this friendly, warm and nurturing environment and we can't thank the staff at the nursery enough! We would recommend them without hesitation.
All in all an excellent nursery - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
I have found all the staff at the nursery to be friendly and helpful. The administrator has been amazing at helping with any queries I have had and has made the completion of paperwork etc much easier.
The settling in visits for my child at each room change has been extremely helpful and the daily updates the team provide me with are useful.
Parents' evenings are beneficial and informative, as are the online updates about my child.
My son has been attending Windmill Hill day nursery since just before his first birthday until he leaves this September to start school. Throughout his time at the nursery, he has learned and developed so much and all the staff within each of the rooms he has gone into has really helped him progress and gain his confidence. He has made some lovely friends and has built some close bonds with some of the nursery staff which is so lovely. All the staff are willing and encouraging to help and push with his development and always looking at new ways and ideas to teach the children. He will surely be sad to leave in August as he's had a fab 4 years at the nursery.
