The staff are so friendly and always happy to help, and genuinely invested in our child's development. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and reassured. Our daughter settled in quickly and looks forward to going every day. The nursery has full of engaging activities, toys and learning materials.
It's a lovely space for little ones to explore!

We cannot recommend the windmill nursery enough. The staff have been absolutely incredible in helping my young daughter settle in. The nursery facilities are wonderful and spacious. They do so many activities with the children to support their learning.

My son went to Windmill Hill when he was one year old and has just finished leaving for school. I would highly recommend this nursery. We felt part of a family, and the support was excellent. We will miss all the lovely staff. My son loved his days here. We had SEN needs, which was met with such nurture
and allowed my son to flourish and grow into the confident little boy that he is. He is totally prepared for school, which is thanks to the support from this nursery. The rooms are full of activity with helpful staff and the garden is a lovely big space for the children to play. A huge thank you to all at Windmill Hill, we will miss you.

Our son has attended Windmill Hill since he was 11 months old. It was an absolute pleasure seeing he transform from the shy little boy he was to the confident and friendly boy that started school in September and I have to attribute that to all the staff at the nursery who from day one showed a real
interest in his well being and development. We were made to feel like part of the family from the outset and I couldn't recommend them enough to anyone looking for childcare.

Great care and food. - thank you for all you have done. We would certainly use the nursery again. Windmill has given our child the confidence and abilities she needs to confidently start school and helped with giving her a balanced nutritious diet.

My little boy has had an excellent time at Windmill Hill. It was his first time at a nursery and his key workers really helped him settle in, I could tell he had formed a special connection with 2 members of staff in particular and would talk about them at home. I have seen him becoming more outgoing
with other children and joining in more confidently. We are only moving as we needed more days and they weren't available, otherwise we would have stayed! Thank you for all the work you've done with him this year.

I would highly recommend Windmill Hill Nursery to any parent looking for safe, reliable & nurturing care for their child. All the staff are extremely friendly and treat you as if you're family - parents and children are known on a first name basis by all members of staff. Our son has been attending
since he was 6-months old and all of the carers and key carers have been extremely supportive and encouraging throughout his time & development at the nursery. We are unfortunately moving away but we wouldn't be moving nurseries if we didn't have to! The all inclusive service is brilliant too as parents only have to worry about packing a change of clothes for their child - everything else is supplied by the nursery. We are extremely sad to have to say goodbye, but we hope we'll have an excuse to come back in the future!

From the moment we walked into windmill hill we felt a genuine warmth. The staff greeted my child by name from the very first day, and that personal touch has continued ever since.
The environment is bright, clean, and full of inviting spaces-cosy reading corners, colourful activity stations, and a
safe outdoor play area where the children can explore in all seasons. I love that their daily routine prime time with their key worker.
One of the biggest strengths here is the staff's attentiveness. My child's key worker not only knows his learning milestones but also understands his personality-when he needs encouragement, when he needs space, and when he's ready to try something new.
Communication is excellent. I get regular updates through their app, complete with photos, and what he learned makes me feel involved in his day, I've seen my child grow in confidence, develop friendships, and become more curious about the world. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

My child has been going to Windmill Hill for the last few years. It's a great nursery with lovely staff who genuinely care for the children they look after. Key workers have good relationships with the children and provide activities that match their interests and learning goals. The food provided always
sounds good and nutritious (and is always eaten) but could perhaps be more varied.
They do a great job preparing the children for school.

Our daughter has just graduated from Windmill Hill and has been there since she was 1 years old. Both us and our children love the nursery; the children (we have a son attending too) love playing there, they have strong bonds with the staff and also learn a lot in their nursery setting. I feel like
my daughter has a great foundation to start school in September which is in part due to the her time spent at the nursery. I would recommend Windmill to anyone.

We've had our 4 children attend Windmill Hill nursery from the age of 1 through to starting in Early Years.
During the last 10 years the standard of childcare they have received has been nothing short of fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery to others.
The nursery ticks all the
boxes you could want. A nutritious well balanced diet, great rooms that have a variety of toys and activities, a nice outdoor area, top draw staff who are friendly and take a genuine interest in the children and a very safe environment.
In addition they keep a log/digital record of your child's development so you can track and see what they've been up to.
Highly recommended!

Our son has attended Windmill Hill from 9 months old, leaving in 2 months to start school.
He has spent time in each room and built strong, secure bonds with the adults. His interests have been pursued and his voice heard - perhaps more than one would wish! He has had plenty of opportunity to practise
the skills he enjoys and those he needed to improve, and it has all been achieved with fun along the way.
Our son's emotional development has always lagged behind other areas and staff have been careful to expose him to opportunities to understand feelings, act out and reflect, and make huge progress.
He leaves nursery in very good stead to start school, with the social skills and emotional intelligence to engage in his new setting and express his concerns. Thanks to all who have contributed to his care and development. You have done an excellent job preparing him for more formal education.

My little girl has thrived, loved and truly had the best time being at Windmill Hill. Everyone from the nursery nurses, admin team, kitchen staff, management really are the most wonderful people you could wish to leave your little ones with. They (the team in reception, management) get to know each
family and we were amazed that from early on they knew who we were, by name, would ask about our other children - so personable, especially with so many other families to remember! Upon collection our girl doesn't want to leave, she has come on leaps and bounds and we are so thankful we chose Windmill Hill. The nursery is always clean, warm, tidy and has a wide range of toys. Your children are free to play and do what they want which is what we loved, no strictly routines or forced fun. Your children couldn't be left in better hands, the truly are the best of the best! Thank you so much for all you have done for our girl.

All three of my children have attended Windmill from 12 months old up to leaving for school, my youngest will be leaving in August. They have all absolutely flourished at Windmill from the baby room right up to pre-school. Each of the staff know my children's individual needs, allowing them to express
themselves in the vast amount of creative ways that Windmill have to offer. I also have regular feedback each day about what they have been up to but picking them up you can tell they have had the and fun and enjoyable day. There is always lots of activity going on from 8am when I drop off right up to pick up at 6pm and I get to hear all about it on the way home in the car. I can go to work each day knowing they are safe and the tears won't last long if they have come at drop off. Windmill over the last 9 and half years has been like family and we are going to miss all the staff terribly but would highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of looking at a nursery.

Both my children have attended Windmill Hill Nursery from 8 months of age through to starting school. Both girls have flourished here. The staff are kind and attentive and show a real interest in my children. I get regular feedback about the happenings during the day. There are lots of exciting activities
going on; in the last couple of months my daughter has been able to stroke a snake and groom a pony!
My youngest daughter has been supported well as she is quite quiet and now happily chats to everyone at nursery. She is clearly very happy there and I would highly recommend to any parent considering Windmill Hill.
A big thank you to all who work at Windmill Hill, I have been able to go to work with no concerns, knowing my children and being well looked after and are thriving.

My son started at Windmill Hill at 12months old and is leaving shortly for school.
Windmill hill have been fantastic they have had a huge impact on his development.
I like that each child is allocated a key person in each room as they progress through the nursery which is wonderful that they have
that interaction and connection.
The fresh meals prepared on site is also a huge benefit and my child has enjoyed them very much. Outside space is a must for growing minds and Windmill Hill have a lovely area outside for each room. I also like the fact it's all on one level so no need to worry about trips on steps! All staff are just wonderful, friendly and polite.
I think we made the best choice choosing this nursery for our lad.

My little boy has been going to Windmill Hill Nursery for 3 months now and I could not be happier with the support he gets. He is in Caterpillars and he has settled right in now. He has such a lovely and strong bond with the staff because they are very attentive and caring. He has learnt so much already
in the short amount of time he has been at nursery, and that's all down to the care the staff give him, as well as watching and learning from the other children.
Outside of the Caterpillar room, the other staff around the nursery are also very organised, polite, kind and always happy to help.
The nursery as a whole is exactly what I hoped for my little boy; a great place to spend his days surrounded by lovely people when we are working, so thank you all so very much!

Kayleigh is the Manager of Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 20 years. Kayleigh joined Childbase in 2014 and has completed her BTEC National Diploma in Early Years.


What is your favourite feature of Windmill Hill?
The nursery is surrounded by beautiful outdoor environments which create amazing learning opportunities for the children, for example, the nature trail which the children love to explore. The nursery is also on one level which enables the children to have free-flow opportunities in our garden areas throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
Recently achieving outstanding in our Ofsted inspection, and the staff’s personal pride in their own professional development through completing degrees and online training. This is also shown through our internal progressions across the nursery.
