My son has just come to the end of his time at Windmill Hill Nursery. He has had a fabulous experience and is leaving really well prepared for the next stage in his learning journey.
The whole team at Windmill Hill are excellent; they all really care and it shows. He has had lots of great opportunities
and the use of terrific facilities which are refreshed regularly.
During his time at Windmill Hill he has been nurtured and encouraged, and he has developed into a confident boy who has a good awareness of his place in the community. He has loved every minute!

My daughter has been at the nursery since she was 8 months old and is now about to leave as she is going to primary school. Windmill Hill Nursery has looked after her exceptionally well over the last 4 years. The staff in each room and in the office have been very caring and supportive, individually
and collectively. She has benefitted enormously through the learning activities and has developed into a well rounded, sociable little girl who is more than well equipped to deal with her new challenge ahead. Thank you Windmill Hill.

The nursery and the team at the nursery are so welcoming and helpful. They are professional yet friendly. I have used the nursery for around 6 years and wouldn't have taken my girls anywhere else. The preschool room has changed over the last 6 months for the better. The room has helped my youngest get
school ready, she has developed her phonic knowledge, letter knowledge and writing. She has loved finding out about new topics, enjoyed football and singing. It has been such an organised yet flexible room, taking the register and PE has given the room structure but the children still have fun. The food is great and has a great variety - I am sure my youngest has several helpings. I will be sad to say goodbye to the nursery when my daughter leaves this summer.

Both my daughters have attended this nursery/preschool for the past 7 years and I could not have been happier with the choice I made. The staff are attentive and helpful and always understood the needs of each individual child. The menu is amazing and I always know each day my daughter has had nutritious
meals. Both my daughters have been so happy here and I would always recommend this setting to anyone!

My two children have attended the Windmill Hill Day Nursery full time since the age of 4 month old and through to school age, with my youngest currently in preschool at the nursery until August 2018.
Both my children have consistently received exceptional care and attention, meaning that they were/are
always happy and looking forward to going to the nursery in the morning.
The nursery team has always been very efficient at resolving any issues we may have raised or at advising on any queries we may have had.
The management team is very professional and welcoming.
The team in preschool is extremely resourceful and is providing a great learning and entertaining environment for the children they care for. Upon leaving the nursery, the children have acquired a wide range of skills and are very well equipped socially to successfully transition to their future school environment.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this nursery.

Windmill Hill nursery is the best there is. Every day is filled with so many interesting activities: painting, drawing, writing, dance, sport, experiments, building, baking and cooking!


They try to actively involve all the parents in the nursery life too -whether it’s by a little craft project,

charity event, raffles or spa.
My little one comes home so happy and stimulated it’s a joy to watch.
He has bonded with all of his teachers and begun beautiful friendships which I hope will last forever. You can also check your little one's progress via parent zone which is updated a few times a week with pictures and observations of your child.


The nursery menu changes frequently and always offers a fantastic range of seasonal, healthy homemade meals to suit even the fussiest eater.


Little ones are encouraged to be independent. They perfect their skills in getting changed by themselves (for PE) and in preparation for school, their use of knife and fork, and are rewarded for listening and tidying up.

I would have been lost without the help and encouragement from the staff at Windmill Hill Day Nursery. They made the transition from part-time to full-time so easy. Which meant my daughter settled quite quickly and I could return to work knowing she was well looked after. Thank you.

I have 2 children and have used the nursery for the last 3 years.
The staff are wonderful in all rooms, making my children feel confident and thoroughly enjoy their time spent there. They are always thinking up new activities and focus areas and target them to the child in terms of enjoyment and areas
of progression.
My oldest is very well prepared and ready to start preschool on September which I would credit in a large part to the preschool team.
I would highly recommend them to friends, families and colleagues.

I have had 2 of my children attend this nursery, and both times I have been very pleased with the outcomes for them. They are confident and articulate for their age and development, this is down to the staff at Windmill Hill who have supported their needs to learn, they have stretched their brains!!
I am pleased with how the staff welcome the children every morning, they are warm and pleased that they are there.


I have been really pleased with the external resources that they have used to get the preschoolers used to physical education in a statutory school setting, my daughter loves the football coach and really looks forward to wearing her football top to play. I would recommend this nursery and cannot say enough if you want your children to be well rounded young children, who socialise, learn and are able to go to school with the confidence to use these skills to push themselves, you will not be disappointed.

I would not hesitate to recommend Windmill to any prospective parents. Every single member of staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, friendly and takes a genuine interest in you and your child. My daughter has attended the nursery since she was 4 months old and Windmill Hill has given her the best possible
start in life. Her room is well staffed, nicely decorated, she has fresh Organic meals each day prepared from a menu that I can see in advance. She is cared for attentively and takes part in a variety of activities - details of which are shared with partners on your daily worksheet and also via the ParentZone app.

Very pleased with the nursery, my daughter struggled settling into her new room and the nursery was very accommodating to help her settle in, offering her extra settling in days, and I am happy to say these were brilliant, and she is now very happy in her new room.

I cannot fault the care of my child's key worker, who is great. Care overall is good and staff are usually friendly. However, the morning drop-offs are often chaotic with staff in the room not always acknowledging my child and seeming overwhelmed. I have also had issues being able to leave my child
due to staff not being ready to receive her (the session starts at 7.30 am but staff are not always in the room by this time). Perhaps staff need to be employed 15 minutes before the session start time to allow them time to prepare?

Our son is enjoying his time in the Butterflies room. He has made friends since he transferred from another nursery and has been made welcome by the staff. Potty training has not been a problem, as our son has been practising at home but has been able to make the big jump into spending the majority

We are very happy with how well our daughter has settled in Windmill Hill. She has been attending the nursery for just over a year now and she fully enjoyed every room she has been in. Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2014

Kayleigh is the Manager of Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 20 years. Kayleigh joined Childbase in 2014 and has completed her BTEC National Diploma in Early Years.


What is your favourite feature of Windmill Hill?
The nursery is surrounded by beautiful outdoor environments which create amazing learning opportunities for the children, for example, the nature trail which the children love to explore. The nursery is also on one level which enables the children to have free-flow opportunities in our garden areas throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
Recently achieving outstanding in our Ofsted inspection, and the staff’s personal pride in their own professional development through completing degrees and online training. This is also shown through our internal progressions across the nursery.
