Going back from maternity leave is so hard for every mum, but Windmill Hill have made such a huge change so much easier. My daughter has been looked after so well, and they really take into consideration her individual needs and in turn have helped her to settle into a brand new environment very quickly!
The staff show that they genuinely care about her and for this reason I would definitely recommend this nursery to anyone.

My 3 year old son started at Windmill Hill in December, previously changing from a different nursery. He has really come out of himself and is much more confident already, and the lovely bonus ss everyone is saying this to us. The staff have really helped him settle in and are all friendly. My son loves
telling us about the different foods he has had and activities. We were impressed with the length of settling in too, moving him was a difficult decision but we were unhappy with his previous nursery. Windmill Hill have helped us as well as my son for a smooth transition.

Both our daughters enjoyed their time at Windmill - the staff were always genuinely caring and kept us fully up to date. We saw a huge growth in confidence and skills in both girls during their time, and both developed lovely friendships as well.

Both of my daughters attended Windmill Hill until they moved on to the school they were going to attend preschool.


With both of my children I had a great experience, the staff are so lovely, we appreciate everything they all did for us to make our experience so good.

Absolutely love this nursery, the only reason I am no longer using it is due to my change of employment and I don’t drive. My little boy has loved every day he has been there, a huge shame to be moving on. Highly recommend!

My little girl has settled really well at Windmill Hill Day Nursery, a total credit to the wonderful staff who greet her with a smile each morning and plenty of great fun distractions. Communication flow is great too, I feel fully informed and can check on My little girl’s progress via an online platform,
with tons of lovely happy play pictures.

Placing my son into full-time care and returning back to work was a challenge for both myself and my son after 12months maternity. My child took a long time (approx 4months to truly settle) However the staff were amazing! They handled the situation and supported my son every step of the way. He’s now
extremely comfortable at Windmill Hill Day Nursery and made lots of new friends.

Having used other nurseries for our eldest children, I am thrilled to bits we researched the internet and found Windmill Hill Day Nursery. I cannot recommend it enough.
The staff, the environment, the structure is all to an outstanding standard in my opinion and our little girl is flourishing thanks
to the great team there.
Always welcoming, the staff give a thorough overview of what our daughter has done including what she's eaten, what nap she's had and what activities she's done.
The online overview and gallery are exceptional and always exciting to see what they have been doing.
Overall really happy with the nursery.

The nursery is well organised and there are a number of policies and procedures in place to safeguard the children. The staff are friendly and there are always a variety of activities for the children to get involved in. After a tricky settling in period, my daughter soon became familiar with the staff
and developed good relationships with them. She really seemed to enjoy her time at Windmill Hill and developed well whilst she was there.
Regular updates, emails and newsletters are shared with parents to let them know how their children are doing, along with daily diary sheets.

When we started looking around nurseries, Windmill Hill felt really welcoming and the perfect environment for our child.
My son attends the nursery twice a week and loves it. There is always lots for him to do, especially getting very messy which he loves!
He has recently moved up to the Ladybirds
room from Caterpillars and this transition seemed really smooth and he has settled in amazingly! It's so nice to see him happy when I collect him and find out about his day! I would happily recommend Windmill Hill to anyone!

My Grandson attends Windmill Hill everyday and absolutely loves going, it’s lovely to see photos of him enjoying his time there through ParentZone. When I drop off and collect him he is always engrossed happily in activities surrounded by friendly welcoming staff. The menu sounds very nice and the facilities
of the building are lovely especially the garden.

My son has been at this nursery for 3 months. He really enjoys it. The staff are lovely. They quickly understand what he likes to do particularly when he gets upset. He's eating well with the food given to him. My husband and I are really glad we chose this nursery.

After looking around a few nurseries, I came back to Windmill Hill to book straight away. When I was shown around the nursery, I was welcomed as soon as I arrived and by all the staff in each room. It felt like home from home.
The settling in visits were to suit when I could do, and my son settled
very well. We are both greeted so lovely each morning and he has a day full of fun activities! When I pick him up he is so happy and I receive feedback straight away.
I love receiving notifications in the week of a new observation on ParentZone, it’s amazing to see what he is getting up to!
I would highly recommend Windmill Hill.

My son has attended nursery since he was a baby and has loved every moment. The care he receives at Windmill Hill has been second to none. The staff provide a warm welcoming environment and I feel my son has made a positive relationship with everyone within the setting as well as putting mine and his
mums mind at ease about leaving him. The activities the nursery provides, are imaginative and fun, and I can definitely see my son developing leaps and bounds since being at Windmill. Would definitely recommend.

When looking for childcare for our one-year old daughter, we were quite thorough and saw a lot of different nurseries and there was NONE that could compete with Windmill Hill. From the moment we entered the premises, my husband and I were convinced that this was the space we could trust to bring our
little one in and feel completely safe and worry-free. The facilities are amazing, the staff are beyond lovely, the activities they do with the kids are great and even though our little girl currently only goes in for one day a week, I feel like I can feel and see her getting so much more independent, sociable and smart from the experience already. I have recommended Windmill Hill to a lot of our friends already and if I had to make the choice again, I would chose this as our nursery all over again.

Lovely staff and fantastic communication, a certain member of staff is a true asset!


I love the fact that the pre-school isn't a pressured and formal learning environment but with my son being so enthusiastic to sit down and learn, I had hoped there was more opportunity for him to progress with

writing, reading etc. at pre-school.


I would have also loved to have seen my son go on some outdoor excursions whilst at pre-school too.


My son enjoyed his time spent at Windmill and made some fab pals along the way though.

I have had 2 children attend the nursery and have been dropping off and picking up from the nursery 3 days a week for the last 7 years.
The standards of the nursery have remained very high throughout this period.
We have had some issues during the years as would be expected over 7 years, however,
when these have been raised they have dealt with well and professionally.
Having one child with allergies and asthma problems I could not praise the nursery enough on how well this has been dealt with, in particular when external medical assistance was needed.
The girls who look after the children are friendly welcoming and both my children built good relationships.
The admin staff are equally as good and always deal with queries quickly and efficiently.
My first child left the nursery ready for school and I believe his start at Windmill Hill helped greatly. As my second is due to start in September I am expecting the same strong start to his schooling.
Overall a lovely and professional nursery.

The love, care, encouragement, support and time you have shown our little boy over the last 3 years is second to none. You have gone above and beyond to help him realise his full potential over the years and prepare him for his next big milestone.


We can't believe how well he has developed and progressed

during his time at Windmill Hill he has really come out of his shell and his personality has really blossomed, he's not our baby anymore but our little boy who is ready for school. Thank you to each and every one of you for everything you have done and continue to do, it is clear that the children are your number one priority.

Both my sons have attended the nursery since the age of 11 months. I can honestly say their care has been outstanding the entire time. The staff members are all warm and friendly and take the time to really get to know the children and their little quirks. Everyone you encounter, whether a key worker
or admin staff, is so kind and takes a genuine interest in the children. My sons have both settled quickly into all the different rooms. My eldest has flourished in preschool room and he will leave completely prepared to start school even though he is one of the youngest in his year. They have been provided with fantastic activities such as football and everything is geared towards their interests. I cannot thank Windmill Hill enough for the fantastic start they have given my sons and would not hesitate to recommend this nursery.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2014

Kayleigh is the Manager of Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 20 years. Kayleigh joined Childbase in 2014 and has completed her BTEC National Diploma in Early Years.


What is your favourite feature of Windmill Hill?
The nursery is surrounded by beautiful outdoor environments which create amazing learning opportunities for the children, for example, the nature trail which the children love to explore. The nursery is also on one level which enables the children to have free-flow opportunities in our garden areas throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
Recently achieving outstanding in our Ofsted inspection, and the staff’s personal pride in their own professional development through completing degrees and online training. This is also shown through our internal progressions across the nursery.
