Windmill Hill Day Nursery (Swindon)

Windmill Hill Day Nursery has been incredible for our girls. They truly care about them and their development and create such a nurturing, inclusive and supportive environment. It feels like a family and we're so grateful for all their kindness and their focus on our girls' happiness. Every staff member is approachable, friendly and dedicated.

My son has attended Windmill Hill Nursery since April 2021 and has loved his time there. Since being there he has really developed, thanks to the staff who have been friendly and very supportive. My son really enjoyed the outdoor play and various experiences and activities including visits from the fire brigade and animal farm. We have been very happy with the nursery and want to thank you so much.

My only child has grown into a healthy, happy and well-developed child here. The setting, learning opportunities, wonderful team and dietary provisions are excellent. The progress reports they give are an insightful view of what my child is doing and have enabled me to keep up with my child's development. It is a really commendable setting and keeps exceeding expectations.

Our daughter attended Windmill Hill for 2 years and loved every second she was there. She was always coming home and telling us what she had got up to, who she had seen and always came home so happy. The wide range of activities has definitely increased her confidence as she can be quite shy in certain settings but nursery brought a whole new level of confidence out in her. We couldn't be happier we chose this nursery and will definitely be putting our second daughter in if space allows! Thank you all.

I don't know how to convey just how amazing this nursery is! It is very clean, the food they make is great (and varied and healthy), the admin staff are very helpful with any payment queries and best of all is that all the staff genuinely care about the children and you truly feel like part of a family! Cannot recommend enough!

I cannot recommend the team at Windmill Hill Day Nursery enough. From the day my daughter joined the baby room at 10 months old, through to when she left preschool this week, she has loved her time at nursery. The staff care so well for the children; I have seen how they adapt learning to the children's interests, support them on the days there are tears and celebrate all the new skills they learn. They keep me and dad updated all the time and involve us in nursery life. When I have raised questions on milestones like dropping naps and potty training, the team have talked through challenges and I've felt like a team with them - both helping my daughter together. It's always scary leaving your child with other people but I relaxed quickly as she (and I) both got to know everyone and the way things work. Food, outside space, experiences - all so well thought through. My daughter has made friends with the children and staff and we will miss them all!

My son has sadly finished his time with Windmill Hill, he has been attending twice a week since 2018. It is an excellent setting. There is a really good rapport between staff/parents and children. Always a friendly warm welcome as you enter and my son is always happily playing when I pick him up.

Both my children have attended Windmill Hill Day Nursery and I cannot praise all the staff enough. My youngest has just left to go to a local pre-school and I was so sad for him to leave. He has come on leaps and bounds with his speech and he has so much more confidence than when he first started. You feel so welcome from the moment you enter the building and all staff are happy to talk to you and always kept me updated on what my son had done that day and how he had come on developmental-wise. I would highly recommend Windmill to anyone. Thanks for everything.

My child will soon be leaving Windmill Hill to attend a pre-school. We have been coming here as a family since 2016 and I cannot fault one thing, both my sons loved it here and we are going to miss everyone.

My son is due to leave Windmill Hill this year after joining when he was around 10 months old. Even from our first viewing of the building, the staff were brilliant, talking to our son and making sure he was comfortable in his surroundings. Every single staff member is a credit to the organisation, friendly and supportive to us all. I couldn't recommend Windmill Hill more, we will miss everyone as our son moves on to school this year! Thank you so much to every room for helping him grow into the amazing little boy he is today and for allowing us to be comfortable that he has been well supported while we have been working!

I was so nervous starting my child at nursery back in 2020 during covid. I had registered them at another nursery but my gut had told me it wasn’t the right choice so I, therefore, contacted Windmill Hill Day Nursery at the very last minute. They were amazing and very reassuring with his care and my worries. He’s developed so well as a child since being there and even though he only attended one day a week he loved going and become fond of his key workers. I was always kept up to date via the app in his younger years especially when he just started. We will be sad to leave but look forward to watching my second child grow in Windmill Hill Day Nursery very soon.

My child has attended from 1 year to 4 years old, all through health issues and Covid. Management has been transparent and on top of communication. Admin is supportive in queries for holiday/info/payments etc.

Both of my children have attended Windmill Hill since they were 1-year-old, and my youngest will be leaving very shortly to start her new adventure at primary school! Windmill Hill has been such a big part of our lives and we are sad to soon be leaving. I cannot recommend this nursery enough. Both of my children have loved going there and have made many special friendships not only with the children but also with the staff. All of the staff are lovely, they genuinely care about the children and really try to get the best out of them. They are excellently prepared to start school, not just academically but with valuable life skills and independence. You really couldn’t ask for more out of a nursery. Such a lovely environment for children to learn and grow in.

Windmill Hill has been fantastic in looking after my son and daughter. They engage the children in various activities each day and the kids are always happy to go in. I will be happy to recommend this nursery to other parents.

Our little boy has developed so much since being at Windmill Hill Day Nursery. We are so grateful for all the care and attention he has been given. He settled very quickly and clearly loves being there as we've never had any tears when dropping off or picking up.

Windmill Hill is a caring, professional and well-resourced nursery. My little boy enjoyed coming every day and we experienced lots of support in his learning and emotional development. We felt well-informed about how he was doing through photos and observations being logged on the interactive learning diary.
