My kids have attended the nursery since early 2016, over the period of time, the nursery has changed/improved. The resources at the nursery are fantastic - the kids have messy play everyday. The garden is fantastic and my daughter loved bikes, mud kitchen and numerous painting activities. The opening hours are excellent (7.30 am to 6.30pm). Food and staff is lovely! I have recommended the nursery to friends.

Both of my children have attended Windmill Hill, and they have had the best time while here. As soon as I walked in on the initial visit I knew this was exactly where I wanted my children to go. The love and care for the children is abundantly clear to see from everyone working there. The support given to my children has been different, but in the exact ways each child has needed. They would come home after every session so happy and bursting to tell us about what they did that day.
The food supplied is also fantastic, and love that it is cooked on site which was one of the things that I liked when choosing this nursery.

Thank you for all the support and love you have given to all the family over the years we’ve been with you!

We initially chose another nursery for a few months mainly due to it being more convenient for commuting to work and then during lockdown, Windmill Hill became an option as it was closer to home.
From the moment I stepped up to the door the difference was night and day. Every single member of staff, without exception, is fantastic. They all genuinely care about the well-being of the children and they aren't just a number, this isn't just a job to them. They do an incredible job at stimulating the children with their interests, active listening, curiosity, wildlife and science. They also encourage self and life skills which are so often missed around feelings, friendships, values and self-sufficiency.

I could not recommend this nursery, the staff or the start they've given to our daughter more highly. It came as no surprise when they were rated as outstanding, we already knew they were.

We have had such a positive experience of Windmill Hill, the staff are all so warm and friendly and put us at ease immediately, our daughter has made such special bonds and has a big smile on her face when she sees them through the window!
There is always something new and interesting for our daughter to explore and she has developed in so many ways since she joined.

I would highly recommend the setting to anyone!

Both my kids started their journeys at Windmill Hill Day Nursery since they were one. My youngest is graduating in August and going off to reception. I can honestly say that it's been the best experience for them and me as a parent to know that the kids are well looked after and fully prepared to start school. The nursery opening times are fantastic and really fit with parents at full time work. Everything is covered from food, nappies even sun cream in the summer so we really don't have to worry about a thing. The kids also learn so much at nursery and my daughter who is 4 already knows all the sounds of the alphabet, they also help with emotional care. All in all, I don't think there's a better nursery out there and would recommend (and have already recommended to a few other parents) to anyone who is considering. My daughter's preschool has already been awarded the best preschool of the year and it's great to know that the achievements are reflected.

A really well organised establishment and lots of attention given to our son, who was quite emotional about going to a new nursery. He has thoroughly enjoyed his time there and seems to come home every day with a story about his day/what he's learnt.

My daughter attended Windmill Hill Day Nursery from the age of 1 right up to starting school and has learnt and developed so much since being there. In each room the key workers understand each child's development and capabilities and their own learning is set around that, working with parents too, especially when milestones happen (weaning, crawling/walking, toilet training etc).
We’ve been through the challenges of a typical baby/toddler not wanting us to leave her, not wanting to go or stay there which can make a drop-off hard, but when that’s happened the staff have always been amazing in helping her settle and distracting her whilst we leave. This has become a lot easier and less frequent as she’s grown!
Her confidence has also grown loads, from being around other children and the key workers and the activities that are put on. She often comes home acting out her day, or telling us what she’s learnt.
The nursery is run really efficiently and has a lovely welcoming feel.

100% recommend!

Windmill Hill Nursery from day one has been absolutely fantastic! I got recommended by a friend for how great of a nursery it was and it surely did not disappoint. My son started at 7 months old and now is 18 months and due to circumstances changing he completed his last session this week. The team kept us well informed at all times with any changes at the nursery and the ladies in the room with my son taught him very well and as parents, we have seen him develop so much over this time, and we are so grateful for how happy he was every day there and enjoyed his time! If our circumstances were to change again we will be back.

My daughter has been attending Windmill Hill Day Nursery for 11 months now and she really enjoys attending. We know this because she almost always refuses to leave when collecting her.
All the staff are very friendly and have always been extremely supportive through changes made to the days she attends.
My daughter's confidence has grown so much as I know that her attending this nursery has a huge part to play.
The varied activities on offer each day means my daughter often runs into the room in excitement as she sees the various new daily activities on display.
Extra care is given when allowing the children to play outside in this warm weather with ensuring sun lotion is applied and hats, provided by the nursery, are worn. This provides me as a parent, peace of mind

Overall we have had a great experience with Windmill Hill Day Nursery.

I cannot fault the nursery! My son started nursery just before his 1st birthday and will be leaving to go to school in September. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, my son built a special relationship with each of his key people (and all other staff members). The activities that the children are doing are on point and varied and the teaching is great. I particularly like the Eco School learnings in pre-school.

My son learnt a lot of skills at Windmill Hill Day Nursery. I would highly recommend the nursery. Thank you everyone for what you do!

Windmill Hill Day Nursery is a lovely nursery. The staff in all the rooms, and the admin staff, are friendly and approachable. We are always greeted warmly and the rooms provide a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for the children. Our children’s key workers have taken time to get to know our children’s individual needs, likes and dislikes and have used this to plan really fun and engaging activities for them. We have received so much help as parents from support with nap times and potty training to support with funding. The feedback the nursery staff provide us with is brilliant, it’s lovely seeing how well our children are getting on and looking at pictures of the activities they do. We would definitely recommend this nursery to other parents.

This is our last year with Windmill Hill Day Nursery after 7 years.

We have had no issues and both my children have thoroughly enjoyed their time they have spent there. My daughter who is due to leave for school in September has developed skills already that she would be learning in reception when she joins the school. Thank you to all of the staff who have played an important part in my children's lives over the years. I would recommend the nursery to any parent or carer and can not thank the nursery enough for helping my children grow into the children they are today.

Our daughter has just finished her nursery journey here at Windmill, but the nursery is fantastic, the staff, the facilities, the food and care, and the overall service here is superb.

As our daughter was born at the beginning of the pandemic her transition into nursery and life away from both parents was more difficult and yet the staff here understood and worked with us all to ensure a smooth and safe transition. Our daughter enjoyed every aspect of nursery life, making new friends of all ages whilst learning new skills including those most important interpersonal skills. I thank all the staff greatly for not only supporting our daughter but also us as parents. We used this nursery for our older child also and would highly recommend it.

I can’t praise the staff at Windmill Hill enough. They are amazing! The care and attention they have given my girls over the years have been phenomenal! They work tirelessly to help all children reach their learning targets/development milestones. You feel valued as a parent too, no concern/issue is ever too much.
We are relocating, my husband and I are gutted that there isn’t a child base nursery near to where we are moving. Bar leaving family and friends behind, leaving Windmill Hill nursery is the next hardest thing.
Can’t recommend them enough, send your children here you won’t regret it!

Again, you guys are all amazing! We’re going to miss you all so much!

My daughters left Windmill just before Christmas 2022. Their last day was a very emotional day and that itself is a testament to how special this nursery is. I always felt very comfortable leaving my girls, even if they got upset. The staff team soon felt like friends. They would always give a detailed verbal snapshot of their days when I collected them, as well as the details they would upload to the parent app.

My eldest first joined the nursery during covid. Despite all of the restrictions, it still felt very personal and welcoming with lots of play and developmental opportunities. My family will sincerely miss the nursery and the staff team. Certain members of the team in particular have made such a significant impact on the girls and have been and still are, spoken about regularly at home. Thank you for everything.

My daughter has been attending Windmill Hill Day Nursery since she was nine months old. She is currently in her third room (Bumblebees) and I cannot be happier with how settled she is. On our walks to nursery she gets really excited and starts to call out the names of her friends and a lot of the staff, including some from previous rooms. She is always happy to go into her room and the staff are amazing at greeting us and listening to any messages we have. I get regular updates of her learning through the app and always look forward to seeing what she has been up to. She really enjoys the food provided and I am happy with the varied diet she receives. She has several mild food intolerances and the kitchen provides excellent alternatives. We get a thorough handover each day and our daughter will say goodbye to each member of staff and everyone in the office. It is very clear to see how much she has progressed and how happy she is. Thank you so much to everyone at Windmill Hill!
