Windmill Hill Day Nursery has been an exceptional experience for our child. The staff are incredibly caring and supportive, providing invaluable guidance on parenting techniques that have greatly benefited our family life. Their encouragement has helped our child build confidence in English and form
lasting friendships. The nursery's focus on fostering a love of learning is evident in their engaging activities, which have ignited our child's curiosity. We're particularly impressed by the exciting events they organise, such as the coronation and Olympics, which our child thoroughly enjoyed. We're incredibly grateful for the support and care our child receives.

My son has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Windmill Hill Nursery and we will be sad to leave. I cannot fault the members of staff and management that I have had dealings with, all are very welcoming, friendly and approachable. My son has learnt so much from attending this nursery and they have taught
him plenty of life skills in readiness for starting school. My son can be very shy and reserved, however, the staff have built up his trust and relationship which has just allowed his confidence to go from strength to strength. I would highly recommend Windmill Hill Nursery!

My son has attended Windmill Hill for two years now. Since the first settling-in session, the staff have been so friendly and welcoming. I was apprehensive at first, as he had never interacted with children in large groups before, but his confidence and language skills have flourished with the support
of everyone at Windmill.
I absolutely love the free-flow approach for the children, being able to have the choice to play outdoors in all weather.
My child's key person through each room has been incredible, showing that they really care about my son's development and enjoyment at nursery.
I can't thank everyone enough, I will be very sad when my son leaves, due to us relocating.

Both of my children have attended Windmill Hill and I can't rate them highly enough. The whole team are excellent, from the staff in every room the boys were in, through to the management and office team. The preparation for school is fantastic, the room resources and activities are varied and the visits
from external parties are of great quality. Both boys loved their time at Windmill - I'll genuinely miss the team when my youngest graduates and leaves!

Windmill Hill has been absolutely brilliant for both of my children. My daughter has flourished over the last three years, gaining confidence and independence. The staff, in the individual rooms, the front office and the kitchen staff are just amazing.

I highly recommend Windmill Hill Nursery. Our daughter started when she was 10 months old and is now in preschool. Our other daughter is 16 months old and attends too.
The nursery is very welcoming and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. From our experience, the staff take the time to know each
child's individual needs which helps form positive bonds. The children have access to an outdoor area and the environments always look very inviting.
We have always been pleased with the variety of food provided for both our daughters. We also feel that our eldest daughter has been well prepared for school and she will miss the staff when she leaves as she has developed some positive relationships.

We love Windmill Hill, our son has been here since he was 1 and will be leaving in September to go to school. The nursery staff are lovely and really care about your child, they provide detailed handovers at pick up and really bond with the children. They are always doing different activities and have
interesting new toys to play with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Windmill Hill to anyone and will be sad for my son to leave!

My son has attended Windmill Hill Nursery for two years and I can honestly say the staff here are fantastic. It is a wonderful kind, caring nursery that goes above and beyond. There is a huge sense of community and they really know how to encourage development through hobbies and interests of the children.

Outstanding nursery. My son has attended the nursery since he was 1 year old and has built great relationships. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and really want the best for every child in their care. It’s amazing all the work they have done with my son. They helped with the morning drop off
making my son feel safe and secure and I always felt at ease leaving him in their care.
Communication from the nursery has always been amazing and we have excellent personal daily handovers when I collect.

My son has been attending Windmill Hill Day Nursery for almost 7 months now. I was very apprehensive at first, as my son didn't have much experience with larger groups of children, or adults that he didn't know, however, the nursery has been very good with their communication and putting my concerns
to rest. My son now loves his time there, and I really enjoy the app function that allows me to see his progress.

Our daughter started Windmill Nursery in January 2024 and from day one the staff were very welcoming to both us as parents and to our little girl . The staff and facilities are very impressive and provide a range of activities on a daily basis. Since joining the nursery our daughter has continued
to strive in development and her confidence levels have grown. As a parent knowing our little girl is happy and content in the nursery environment is comforting. Choosing Windmill Nursery was 100% the right decision.

I feel we have great interaction with the nursery as a parent, always feel informed and opportunities to ask questions are always there. Great focus on bringing families together through optional events. Fantastic activities for children with attention to children’s interests considered along with great

Our daughter has just moved to Windmill Hill from a different nursery and we have been very impressed by both the staff and facilities. The free access to the garden every day is a great feature, and we love that our daughter is encouraged to enjoy her own interests within the room. The staff have all
been very welcoming to her and us and she has settled really quickly as a result. It’s also been much easier to sort out the administration than in the previous setting thanks to an efficient and visible team. We are very pleased to have moved.

Since my child has been at Windmill Hill, her development has come in leaps and bounds. She absolutely loves it there. The biggest thing for us when picking a nursery was that she would be safe and looked after and that is exactly what we got. The updates that the staff provide us daily is so reassuring
and she certainly eats great as well! As soon as you walk in the staff are welcoming from reception through to the room. The staff are so knowledgeable and really care about the children.

I have been lucky enough to have 2 of my 3 children attend Windmill Hill. The nursery has been everything you would want and I felt more than comfortable leaving my children there from the age of 6 months. The staff are all very friendly from when you walk in the door to the drop off in the room. The
online updates are great and the little touches of gifts on Father’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas etc are so thoughtful. My eldest daughter started school this year and she was so prepared and settled in brilliantly thanks to the preparation by the pre-school teachers. I would definitely recommend this nursery.

Our daughter has been going to Windmill Hill since she was 11 months old and she absolutely loves it.
Everyone at the nursery is so kind and supportive. She had lots of settling-in sessions when initially going into the baby room, which really helped ease her in.
She gets to take part in so many
activities, and especially loves singing and signing! The encouragement she has got from her key workers and the team in each room is fantastic. They have got to know her so well and really know where she needs a little extra support.
The nursery is really well organised, the meals she receives are great and we are kept well informed of the fun activities she’s doing as well as her overall development.
She has gained so much confidence since being at Windmill Hill. Unfortunately due to us relocating she will be leaving soon. I really don’t know how any other nursery is going to live up to it!

Both our boys had a great time at Windmill Hill and the staff have been brilliant in helping them settle in and also with their development. The team made us feel comfortable when our eldest started given his health complications by completing the required medical training and it never seemed an issue
to provide the extra care he needed. Whenever we have had an issue they were addressed appropriately by management to help find a resolution. We would recommend Windmill Hill to anyone as overall the team do a fantastic job and we’re glad our boys went here.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2014

Kayleigh is the Manager of Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 20 years. Kayleigh joined Childbase in 2014 and has completed her BTEC National Diploma in Early Years.


What is your favourite feature of Windmill Hill?
The nursery is surrounded by beautiful outdoor environments which create amazing learning opportunities for the children, for example, the nature trail which the children love to explore. The nursery is also on one level which enables the children to have free-flow opportunities in our garden areas throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
Recently achieving outstanding in our Ofsted inspection, and the staff’s personal pride in their own professional development through completing degrees and online training. This is also shown through our internal progressions across the nursery.
