My daughter has been attending the nursery since 7 months old and loves it!! The staff are fantastic and care for the children so well. My daughter's interests are always met and there is always a range of activities. The nursery is easy to get to.

Every aspect of our experience since my daughter was 6 months old has been outstanding. From the early nervous days of handing over expressed milk, through potty training and learning to write, every step has felt like teamwork and we've been consistently supported by exceptionally dedicated and professional
staff. The facilities, security/safety, nutrition, learning equipment and tailoring of each room to the learning stages have been faultless, the team visibly invest in constant upgrade and refresh of the facilities to bring the highest standards, interest and fun to every child, every day. I've been overwhelmed how staff have so much energy to personalise and extend areas of skill and intrigue, from science experiments, themed activities, art projects, cookery, dance, music, culture, sports and IT. Communication is clear in development areas and there is always a warm welcome, great transparency and sound advice.
Couldn't wish for more. I will miss this amazing, happy place!

I think Windmill Hill Day Nursery is excellent. I leave my daughter there with complete confidence and peace of mind, knowing my daughter is well looked after and cared for.


My daughter has been at Windmill Hill since a baby and staff in all the rooms are so lovely and I can’t recommend it enough.

Couldn’t recommend this nursery more. I’ve felt so happy and reassured leaving my son in the care of the staff and he is so happy to go every week, so I know he loves it too! He does an excited dance every time we pull up to the car park! The staff are all so caring and work so hard to create an amazing
nursery. The settling in process is excellent, and I love how they involve parents with everything - especially the online learning journeys.

My son attended this nursery since he was 10 months old until he left for school.


During these years the nursery has made significant investments in renovating the facilities (indoor and outdoor). I had the impression that keeping the focus on this aspect may have caused that other areas (at least

equally important) didn't receive all the attention they needed. This may explain why they have lost the "Outstanding" rating in their last OFSTED inspection.


Overall the nursery's service is good. However, I wouldn't recommend it over any other local nursery as I don't think it is any better or worse than most of them. Unless the location is convenient (that was my case). On the negative side, the management didn't fulfill my expectations of efficiency.

Windmill Hill has been an inspirational part of my daughter's life between 1-4 years of age. The nursery uses early years foundation framework to encourage and monitor progression in a child's development. This has been a key part in helping my daughter become a very independent pre-schooler, ready
for the transition to school, with the right level of education through play. The management and staff at Windmill Hill Swindon are fantastic and show a huge amount of care and dedication to all children who attend, which gives comfort, knowing your child is well cared for. The nursery facilities are well maintained and invested in, creating a wonderful setting for children.

Windmill Hill Nursery has been wonderful for our daughter. She started there when she was around 7 months old and is now nearly 18 months. The staff in both rooms (Caterpillars and Ladybirds) have always shown great care and attention, they always make us as parents feel welcome, and you can see how
much they genuinely care about the children they're looking after. Facilities are plentiful, well looked after, fun, and educational. I always feel like I can ask the staff anything! Our daughter absolutely loves her time here and always comes home ready for a nap but happy. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about sending their child here.

Since settling in my 8-month-old, following my return to work, I am continually impressed by the organisation and professionalism of this nursery.
Having used two Swindon nurseries previously for my son, I can notice a marked difference in the way this nursery performs.
My daughter is always happy
and stimulated after a day at nursery, which makes it much easier for me, knowing she is settled in her surroundings.
All of the staff are happy and helpful and clearly enjoys their time with the children.

I really cannot say enough positive things about Windmill Hill Swindon. From the moment my daughter started her settling-in sessions, she has loved it. The staff, facilities, the fact the majority of the toys are from natural materials, the food - everything is great. The amount my daughter has come
on development-wise and in her confidence is so fantastic. The bond she has with the ladies in her room. Would recommend this highly.

We are so pleased that we chose Windmill Hill Nursery for our two-year-old twin boys since they have started there, their confidence has blossomed so much. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming, from the day I was shown around this nursery stood out a mile for me. It's very clean, inviting and
the facilities for the children are perfect. The garden (since the refurbishment) is great for any child who loves to be outside, my boys love the bikes and the race track.

On the whole, it is a good nursery. Communication in the preschool room could be better. If a child is ill on drop off and you tell a staff member, it isn't always passed on to all staff. Very little information is given on pick up unless asked for. My child's key worker has shown a lot of interest
in her well being which is nice to see.

Windmill Hill Nursery is an absolutely brilliant, supportive and stimulating environment for all the children, especially my son. Every day I have dropped him off and picked him up and every time, he has been very happy and excited. He has come on a very long way since starting here and I want to give
a special recommendation to my son's key worker, as she had been a rock to us both through some difficult times we had in our home life. All the staff at Bumblebee's are excellent and I will be sorry for my son to leave. Thank you.

My little boy only started at this nursery last week, by Thursday he was excited to get out of the car and had a big smile on his face as we walked in. How to set mother worries to rest, to see him so happy means the world to me & his dad. The staff all have been so welcoming and nice to meet, everyone
has time for you even at busy times. I always get a review of what they have done that day, sleep patterns and his eating, and all the children seem very happy there.
My husband and I are so pleased we chose to send him here, it was an excellent decision.

My son started in December with some settling in sessions and started his first full day last week, the staff have been fantastic and very patient with him and I'm now 100% confident in leaving him there whilst I return to work. He was also poorly one morning and the care they gave him was second to

Our daughter has attended full time from the age of 1 year through to pre-school and our second child has just started there. The interaction with the staff is very good and there seems to be genuine affection between the children and the staff, particularly from their key workers. They are always friendly
and helpful and both our children are really happy there.

Kayleigh is the Manager of Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for 20 years. Kayleigh joined Childbase in 2014 and has completed her BTEC National Diploma in Early Years.


What is your favourite feature of Windmill Hill?
The nursery is surrounded by beautiful outdoor environments which create amazing learning opportunities for the children, for example, the nature trail which the children love to explore. The nursery is also on one level which enables the children to have free-flow opportunities in our garden areas throughout the day.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
Recently achieving outstanding in our Ofsted inspection, and the staff’s personal pride in their own professional development through completing degrees and online training. This is also shown through our internal progressions across the nursery.
