A BRIGHT AND SPACIOUS NURSERY IN CATERHAM

Caterham The Laurels Day Nursery and Preschool is designed to support your child’s development, from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

They make use of the ample space at the nursery by creating separate indoor activity areas. This includes a Creative Cooks section, ICT suite and an ‘area of interest’. The theme of this area, designed to engage children in new ideas based on their interests, is chosen by a rotating preschool committee made of four children.

Alongside the curriculum, an enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

The nursery in Caterham has an expansive garden. Children can choose to play in the mud kitchen or settle down in the summer months with a book in the outdoor learning library. They even have a separate area for the use of bikes, scooters and tricycles.

The Caterham nursery is situated in a leafy residential area, directly opposite Town End Recreation Ground where they take the children in Summer. They have a parent drop-off zone and parking facilities for your convenience, and a twenty-minute walk from Caterham Station.

As a mother going back to work, I was really worried about leaving my baby alone, leaving him with strangers - but I honestly couldn't be happier. The transition was really smooth and the staff are so helpful and kind and I love the bond my son has with them. The open door policy is great and I always

We have always been very happy with the service and standard of care offered by The Laurels. Our daughter has been there from the baby class aged 10 months, up to preschool now aged 3 and a half, and has always loved nursery. The staff are fantastic and very caring.
Outside play is always encouraged
and the facilities offered are very good, there is a great menu available to the children which provides a range of options that they love. We have been very happy with our daughter's development which the nursery has played a key role in. Management always listen to any suggestions of improvement and are very helpful, but special thanks must go to the girls who look after them daily.

My daughter is extremely happy when she comes out of nursery and I feel the Daffodil teachers have shown a key interest in what her abilities are and strive to exceed them. Her confidence and little character has brought out the best in my daughter, just by interacting and enjoying her day, doing activities

My youngest son currently attends The Laurels and is extremely happy there! He has built amazing bonds with the staff and asks every morning if it is a Nursery day?!
My eldest son also attended the nursery from a baby until he left for school and I truly believe he thrived so much at school because
of the care and development given to him by the staff at the nursery.

Both my children have attended The Laurels and overall I have been very happy with the care given. Both boys always come home happy and excited to talk about their day. My son started at 6 months and throughout the 3 years he has been there we have found the staff to be very supportive, friendly and genuine. My son is very happy at The Laurels and is always excited to see his key workers and friends. My son is a very abled child and needs plenty of physical activities
which are provided at The Laurels. All the extra activities are excellent (animals, fire engines, football etc). We moved nearly 1 year ago and considered changing nursery for travel reasons but nothing we saw made us comfortable to leave The Laurels.

My son has had a great time here at The Laurels, the staff are fantastic and very caring towards all the family. They take the time to chat with us in the morning and this supports my son as he can be clingy at times. Food is amazing and extra activities are a total bonus.

Great, my daughter settled really well since May everyone has understood her needs and little things that make her who she is. For my son's third birthday the staff went the extra mile and made the day fun for the children and specific to him. They made a birthday cake and birthday card for him which was lovely. The staff have also kept me up to date with his progress brilliantly and helped me with information through a time
when I was having trouble getting glasses for him. Big help, great girls!

Both of my boys have been at The Laurels over the last 4 years. The staff are always friendly, warm, engaging and interested in the children. I have utmost faith when leaving in the morning that the children get the best care and most of all have lots of fun.

Leanne has worked in childcare since 2000 and has had the pleasure of collaborating with some outstanding practitioners. Through their guidance, she has grown in their understanding of child development and how children's minds work and process information.


She joined Bright Horizons in 2016, with a nursery change in 2020 that brought them to Caterham The Laurels. Her passion lies in supporting the staff to provide the best possible care for the children they are fortunate enough to look after. What excites her the most about her work in childcare is seeing the children flourish, from sharing many of their firsts as babies to proudly talking about their transitions to school.
