A BRIGHT AND SPACIOUS NURSERY IN CATERHAM

Caterham The Laurels Day Nursery and Preschool is designed to support your child’s development, from the age of 3 months to 5 years.

They make use of the ample space at the nursery by creating separate indoor activity areas. This includes a Creative Cooks section, ICT suite and an ‘area of interest’. The theme of this area, designed to engage children in new ideas based on their interests, is chosen by a rotating preschool committee made of four children.

Alongside the curriculum, an enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

The nursery in Caterham has an expansive garden. Children can choose to play in the mud kitchen or settle down in the summer months with a book in the outdoor learning library. They even have a separate area for the use of bikes, scooters and tricycles.

The Caterham nursery is situated in a leafy residential area, directly opposite Town End Recreation Ground where they take the children in Summer. They have a parent drop-off zone and parking facilities for your convenience, and a twenty-minute walk from Caterham Station.

Daughter settled in well into the nursery and is very happy to go on a daily basis. Staff are lovely and she has a good relationship with everyone in her room. Development and feedback in her development is thorough and we're happy with how she is progressing.

The nursery is very good. Everyone is really friendly and takes a real interest in the children. There have been some recent staffing issues which did cause problems but these are now being resolved.

I have two children at the nursery, my daughter started at 1 year and is about to leave for school this year. The quality of care is outstanding, the staff are friendly and attentive with the children. My son has been at the nursery for 8 months now and equally enjoys his time. I love that the two regularly
meet up in the garden. Great facilities, including clubs like leaps and bounds attend for no additional fees.

My son started at the Laurels in July 2015 and the staff in the baby room settled him really well. He has moved up a room now and is growing in confidence all the time. He has learnt actions to lots of songs from circle time and the staff really supported him learning to walk. He now runs in to nursery
in the morning for a hug with his favourite staff and blows them kisses as we leave. It is so much easier leaving your child knowing they are well cared for and happy.

Leanne has worked in childcare since 2000 and has had the pleasure of collaborating with some outstanding practitioners. Through their guidance, she has grown in their understanding of child development and how children's minds work and process information.


She joined Bright Horizons in 2016, with a nursery change in 2020 that brought them to Caterham The Laurels. Her passion lies in supporting the staff to provide the best possible care for the children they are fortunate enough to look after. What excites her the most about her work in childcare is seeing the children flourish, from sharing many of their firsts as babies to proudly talking about their transitions to school.
