Both my children have attended this nursery over the past five years, from baby room to graduation. The staff are wonderful, the skills my children have learnt are invaluable and my girls love it there. I couldn't recommend it enough. In fact, I have recommended it and now my nephew and my friend's child, go there too.
I would highly recommend The Laurels Nursery, as the staff there are doing a great job. Also, the app is so useful for parents, so they can check the daily activities their child participates in, the amount of meals they eat etc.
My daughter goes here and loves it. Like most children, at times she can get a little clingy, but they completely understand this and make that process so easy for me to walk away at drop off, feeling like she is in great hands. She absolutely loves all the staff and they constantly keep me well informed about her day. Couldn't be happier with this nursery and her class, sunflowers. She doesn't have favourites as such, as she is very happy with everyone, however, she always has an extra big smile for one member of staff in particular.
I really couldn’t be happier. Both my little ones are simply thriving. The staff go above and beyond with both the care and the curriculum. I am so happy The Laurels, was recommended to me and I can understand why. I’m so grateful for the lovely warm relationship I have with staff and their genuine care for the kids. Thank you.
Our youngest has recently joined The Laurels and we already have a 4 year old there, who has been attending since he was 1. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming, they all seem to know my children's names even if they aren't their key person. They take care of them as their own. I was a little nervous when my 6 month old started, but immediately I could see how settled he was. With the new app I can see when they've slept, what they've had to eat and photos, it's great! The nursery does it all, no need to leave nappies, bottles etc, they provides everything. I'm very pleased with the nursery and with my children's development.
Our daughter has thrived Bright Horizons Caterham The Laurels Day Nursery and Preschool - from joining out of lockdown where she had little interaction with people she is now a sociable, confident, chatty little girl. Her speech has come on really well, hitting all her milestones and she really enjoys spending time at nursery with her peers and key workers.
Excellent nursery. Really great staff and they were amazing during the challenges of Covid. Would highly recommend. Good facilities and always very welcoming. Really helped my granddaughter's development.
I was worried as she was in process of toilet training not only did they accept this (unlike some nurseries) within literally a week she was able to go to nursery without wearing a pull up which has been a great change she is more confident and I'm very grateful. The facilities are good especially the garden area it’s very clean and welcoming. The app is great to see photos of your child during the day and what they have eaten. Staff are very friendly and easy to talk to if you need them. Thank you
We have two children at the nursery and couldn’t be happier. Our little lockdown baby started recently and we were worried about him settling having not been to many places, but in all honestly, it couldn’t have gone better. The staff kept us updated on him constantly and they genuinely care about the children that are obvious. So he’s been very much enjoying the cuddles. Our biggest is in preschool and absolutely loves it. We have had pretty much the same ladies follow her right the way through from the baby room and they couldn’t be more lovely. I think they enjoy watching them grow and develop just as much as we do which is so nice to see.
Our son has been at the Laurels two days a week since he was 10 months old and we are really happy with the quality of care the nursery provides. The staff really seem to know our son and we receive regular updates via the new app on what he’s been eating, his naps etc. He is really settled there and looks forward to his nursery days, talking lots about his friends and all the fun things they’ve been doing! The staff are always organising new and fun learning play activities for the kids (it’s currently science month!) which focus on key developmental skills, and they enjoy lots of garden time which is brilliant. The team have managed Covid and lockdown measures brilliantly which has been really reassuring. Overall we are really happy with the Laurels and would highly recommend it to any parents in the area!
A great nursery, our daughter loves going in each morning and is buzzing with excitement when we pick her up. She is clearly learning so much every week. It's a friendly and caring atmosphere with a variety of activities including hatching ducklings, growing their own herbs and building rockets. We would definitely recommend it to others.
The staff are very caring and we feel safe and content leaving our daughter at The Laurels. They do a lot of fun and varied activities and try to spend as much time outside as possible which is great. Our daughter is always smiling when we pick her up and her face lights up when she sees her favourite members of staff in the morning. We love hearing about her day and how she is building friendships with other children at such a young age. We’re very happy with our choice of nursery!
I would definitely recommend this nursery.
Both my boys have been to this nursery and my second is there now despite his brother going to school in the opposite direction. It’s very inconvenient but I do it anyway as he loves the people and they adore him.
Every single member of staff knows every child’s name. They greet them in the morning. Chat to them in the corridors. They talk to them like little humans in their own right and not extensions of the fee-paying parents. The facilities are fantastic. The garden is lovely. Not enormous but in great condition and big enough for babies and toddlers. Each room has been refurbished with its own toilet facilities. Toys are replaced and updated regularly. The food is fresh, healthy and well received. But it’s the people that make it. If I had my way they’d all get a bonus.
The nursery management have worked hard to overcome the high staff turnover in 2018 and as a result, have made the children feel much more settled.
The management let you know each day what staff will be working in each room so it makes you feel more relaxed as a parent knowing who exactly will be looking after your children for the day.
There are some great members of staff at The Laurels who are amazing with the children (and parents) and are a real asset to the nursery.
P.S. The deputy manager should have her profile and picture on the Day Nurseries website as she is also fabulous!
Both my boys go to this nursery and absolutely love it! My eldest has been going for over 2 years and always has so much fun. Every morning he asks me if its time to go to 'school' yet. He is learning so much. The teachers are fantastic and always have monthly themes such as space/planets, learning about the lifecycle of the butterfly etc. He is even teaching me things! The environment is very stimulating but at the same time, the kids get a chance to also focus on activities they enjoy doing such as writing, or painting, or just having free play.
My youngest is in the baby room and is doing so well. Since he started 4 months ago, he has developed so much and the room staff are so caring and give him so much love and attention. I never have to worry about him which is very reassuring as he is so little.
I would highly recommend this nursery. All the staff are so professional and friendly and make my kids feel like the most important child there. They are brilliant!
Have recommended to all my friends who have young children.
My two children go here and they love it. The staff are friendly and efficient and it feels like a big family. I trust everyone there to do what’s best for my children and I highly recommend this nursery to anyone thinking of sending their children here.
My daughter joined The Laurels in January at 18 months old. She took a while to settle as she's only been cared for by me. Staff were very good at giving me updates and getting to know my daughter. She now loves nursery and walks in smiling which is such a relief. My daughter's speech and learning has come a long way in the 4 months she's been attending. I'm glad I chose this nursery and would recommend it to any parents looking for childcare.
The management have done nothing to communicate learning members of staff who have always been the centre of the nursery and increasingly see nursery agents who seem to have little care and attention for our children.
The Managers are fully aware of the dissatisfaction of parents but have chosen not to be proactive. As a result, I am looking to move my children elsewhere.
Thank you for taking the time to submit a review.
We are very sorry to hear about your experience. I have ensured this information has been passed on to the Nursery Manager and the Regional Manager.

Meet the Team (2)
Leanne has worked in childcare since 2000 and has had the pleasure of collaborating with some outstanding practitioners. Through their guidance, she has grown in their understanding of child development and how children's minds work and process information.
She joined Bright Horizons in 2016, with a nursery change in 2020 that brought them to Caterham The Laurels. Her passion lies in supporting the staff to provide the best possible care for the children they are fortunate enough to look after. What excites her the most about her work in childcare is seeing the children flourish, from sharing many of their firsts as babies to proudly talking about their transitions to school.
Peta-Ann is the Deputy Manager of Bright Horizons Caterham The Laurels. She loves helping children develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills. Ensuring that they grow to be confident aspiring learners throughout their education.
