Sandfield Day Nursery (Oxford)

Our child absolutely loves Sandfields, and so do we. The staff are knowledgeable and creative. Our child has a wonderful time every day he is there, he learns a lot and has loads of fun. He has developed a wonderful bond with his keyworker in each of the age-appropriate rooms he has been in, and regularly asks to go and play with them. We chose the nursery owing to it's professional but friendly and welcoming atmosphere and the quality of the garden space. Bonuses we weren't aware of at the time include the emphasis on nature and sustainability, both in terms of how the nursery is run and educating the children and the amazing menu. We are so pleased our child goes to Sandfields and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Our baby started at Sandfield in January and as an extremely anxious parent about to return to work with a baby that had never been looked after by anyone other than me and refused to take a bottle, I was really worried. However, the care and attention paid by the team working in the Caterpillar room soon helped her to settle in and whilst it was hard for the first few weeks, I felt they looked after both her and me exceptionally well during this transition. Our baby has continued to thrive at nursery over the last few months and she now loves being there. The range of quality activities she gets to take part in is brilliant and I’ve also been really impressed by the quality and range of food provided for her. Communication is excellent and staff have always been happy to discuss how she is getting on at length with me at drop off and pick up. Overall, whilst I am sad to not spend every day with her now I don’t ever feel guilty or worried because I know she’s having a great time.

Sandfield is a wonderful nursery, full of caring committed staff with a deep love and knowledge of young children and their development. My daughter has blossomed here, growing from a toddler wary of strangers into a friendly and confident young girl, filled with a love of learning. She has loved all the adults who have cared for her while she has been here - I can't recommend this nursery highly enough.

I have one child in Ladybird 1. The staff are amazing and very sweet with him. I am very impressed by how much they know him and care.

I have one child in Preschool. he learns a lot of things and is getting very independent which is great as he will soon go to school.

My daughter has been in the nursery since she was 5 months old so she has been in all rooms. All staff in each room were amazing, very supportive and approachable. My daughter absolutely adores going to the nursery. Facilities are very good, staff very well trained and aware of each child's needs.

Energetic, caring and dedicated staff.

Our daughter attended the nursery for 2 years, until moving to her new school, and was very happy there. Lovely facilities, great outdoor area and fantastic staff. Rooms are warm and inviting with lots on display. Lots of activities to keep the children busy and entertained!

Activities are varied, educational and fun and he is continually learning new skills. Food is fresh and nutritious and there is plenty of opportunity to play outside, even when the weather is a bit grey. Communication is always excellent and we are kept regularly updated as to his progress and what he's been up to. He has particularly enjoyed the recent Christmas activities and festivities. Working at the hospital the location suited me perfectly for drop-offs and pickups.

I highly recommend this nursery for many reasons. The primary reason is that when my daughter first started at nursery, I was so nervous that she would not get along and settle, but it is obvious that she is treated amazingly with so much love and care. It makes my life so much easier knowing that she is going to a place with so much kindness, fun and one-on-one attention. My daughter suffered a febrile convulsion whilst at nursery and the nursery staff were amazing, they applied their first aid knowledge and immediately called an ambulance, without their support I would have fallen apart. The food supplied is lovely and my daughter really enjoys it. Overall, I am very happy to leave my daughter in their care.

My daughter and son were at Sandfield for just under a year, in the Bumblebees and Caterpillar rooms. This was their very first nursery experience, and they had such a positive experience - evident in how easily they are now settling in at their new nursery, our family having recently moved to a different county. The staff truly are a credit, and the nursery space is bright, happy and welcoming. We have only fond memories of our time at Sandfield and thank the wonderful staff for going above and beyond to nurture and care for our babies, who have developed into such confident, able little children. I have no hesitation in recommending Sandfield to any prospective parents.

Cannot recommend this nursery highly enough, I've only had positive experiences here, with amazing staff lovely bright airy rooms and great garden.

I have been really pleased with the care my son has received during his time at Sandfield. In both rooms he has been in, the staff have been friendly, approachable and genuine in their care towards him and myself when I have needed reassurance or had any worries about my son. There has always been a varied array of activities for him to take part in and the children always seemed settled and happy. We will miss it!

We have had experience of Sandfields over the last five years, with my son and daughter moving through nearly all the rooms there. We cannot praise them highly enough and are all very sad to be leaving as we are moving abroad. The team there are fantastic, they always welcome you with a smile and all members of staff are polite and greet you when you see them. Our kids loved it there and developed excellent rapport with all members of staff. They both thrived at Sandfields and the excellent pre-school team even taught my daughter to read. We cannot thank you enough, it's very clear how hard you all work and what a wonderful and dedicated team you are. Thank you

I have two children currently in Preschool at Sandfield. They began in Ladybirds and have moved up through Butterflies to Preschool. Both of my children have thrived at Sandfield. Every member of the team at Sandfield has been great and welcoming. My children love attending Sandfield and love the people who work there. In each room they’ve been in, they’ve learned new things and been very encouraged to develop new skills. I know they’ll be sad when they move on to reception and leave Sandfield behind. As parents, we also love Sandfield and have always felt safe and secure sending our children there. Overall, I would highly, highly recommend Sandfield to anyone.

I have two children at Sandfield, both whom started at just under nine months old in the Caterpillar room and straight away I could tell the staff had my children's best interests at heart. They made both me and my partner feel at ease and comfortable leaving our children for the first time. Now, almost two years since my son started, they have transitioned through two rooms already and every room has been the same - outstanding care and attention to my children's needs. Both of my children have made immense progress since joining Sandfield nursery and love the staff and the environment. They are always excited to come to nursery in the mornings! We would like to say a big thank you to the manager and to other ladies in particular who have looked after both of our children and also the fabulous management team who are always on hand to deal with any queries we may have!

He was there for 2 years and in this time developed in every way, I would like to say thank you to all the staff who encouraged and supported along the way.

This is an excellent nursery and the staff are extremely professional and caring. My daughter had a fantastic time going there and learnt a lot. I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent as it is really an excellent place!

It has been nice to come to Sandfield Day Nursery every morning, seeing that kids feel happy there. The friendly personnel create a welcoming atmosphere, starting with a warm and personal greeting, and continuing with a caring and encouraging attitude throughout the day. Kids connected well not only to their key person but also to all other staff, which helped them build the feeling of a safe and loving environment.
