very friendly staff, very good communication with parents. My daughter is a fussy eater with food allergy and she was happily having at least 2 meals over there and being offer substitutes. My daughter was very happy over there and will miss this place after being there nearly 2 years.
My granddaughter leaves soon after 3 years of tender care. While there have been nervous in her home life, the nursery has been a calm and consistent place. Her mum can work as she always knows she was not only safe but cared for.l The staff and children show kindness and affection to each other. Lovely to see her development - so much work in observations. Very professional but always kindly.
Sandfield is an excellent nursery which I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. The staff were wonderful at helping my son settle in when he first joined over a year ago. This was the third nursery he had been to due to my job changing and by far the best and where he has been happiest. The ladies in his room are so cheerful and caring. They always make us feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The nursery is ideally placed for those working at the John Radcliffe Hospital with very convenient opening hours (7 am to 6.30pm) and lives up to its excellent reputation amongst staff.
Everyone at Sandfield Day Nursery (Oxford) is welcoming and friendly. It feels like one big family! My children aged 1&2 thrive daily and come home expressing or showing me what they have learnt that day. Sometimes I feel left behind!! But the care and education they receive here from a young age is irreplaceable and I'm confident I made the right choice in the nursery every time I pick them up from nursery and see those smiling faces.
We arrived in Oxford from Australia with no first or secondhand knowledge of the day nurseries in the area. Peers and parents from football in our area all recommended Sandfield and it was certainly worth the time on the waitlist. It’s a well presented and resourced centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our son bonded quickly with the staff in his room - we had separation issues and they were extremely gentle and patient with him, which made leaving a crying toddler easier. We were well informed as parents and there was a great open door policy. We highly recommend Sandfield Day Nursery.
It is a wonderful nursery with a great atmosphere. My daughter absolutely loved to go there. She loved it so much she didn't want to leave when I came to pick her up and kept asking on weekends if we can go up to the nursery! Staff were very caring, great management and yummy food. My daughter was coming here every day with new things she has learnt. It is a place full of warmth and care. I will do everything in my power to get a place there for my younger child. We will miss Sandfield. It became part of our lives and the staff became our 2nd family. Never thought you could find a nursery with such high standards.
I cannot recommend Sandfield Day Nursery (Oxford) highly enough. From the first day I brought my son in and left with a care package (for me!) to his very last day.
From the onset, I have felt that my son was in a very safe, friendly, caring and happy environment. My son was (and still is!!) an extremely energetic individual which was always a worry to me when I dropped him off but I feel that the nursery worked with him and us to make the most of this energy rather than stifle it.
I feel that he was more than ready when he started Pre-School and that was down to, not only to us, his parents but also the work of the Nursery staff in developing his skills, learning technique and ability to care for other people both young and old.
My son started at Sandfield when he was just over eight months and was straight away made to feel very secure by all members of staff which meant he was able to settle in very quickly. Now, six months later he is still very much enjoying every aspect of nursery life. He has made lots of progress physically, emotionally and socially. He has learnt lots of new words and skills, built good relationships with staff and children and also become a much better and varied eater! Our son is now getting ready to transition to the next room and is enjoying his visits (the system of old key person taking them and helping them settle with new key person works really well!) We would like to say a big thank you to the Team Leader and the Caterpillars team for all their hard work.
Our son has just finished at Sandfield after four years. He has been there on a full time and part time basis over that period.
The management team are very amenable and any queries or issues are dealt with professionally and efficiently.
The staff in the rooms take a keen and genuine interest in the children. Our son has had digestive problems (thankfully now resolved) for almost all of the two years that he was at pre-school. The staff showed the utmost professionalism in dealing with him and us as parents and indeed shared that journey with us (his key worker in particular) and this includes the nursery chef who was supportive and worked with us to ensure his diet was suitable and balanced.
Both of my children have been happy at the nursery and they have the right balance of promoting their independence and skills whilst remaining supportive to each child as needed. He has left nursery prepared for school in terms of pre-school learning.
The nursery is extremely well managed and there is a positive, encouraging environment. It is clear that the management and staff put their best effort into caring for and playing with the children, despite the demanding nature of the job. There always seems to be something going on, too. Charity fundraising, new menus, themes for the week and so on. The ability to see how our little one is getting on regularly with the app is also excellent. When we have had any cause for complaint (minor), the response was professional and prompt.
My daughter has had a great time at Sandfield. Carers have all been wonderful with her. She received emotional and intellectual support during her years at nursery and we would like to thank everyone.
I was very happy with my son's progress since he started the Sandfield Day Nursery. A very stimulating environment with a lot of activities, fun, toys and new friends. I would definitely recommend it 100%.
I have nothing but fantastic praise for Sandfield Day Nursery and cannot recommend it enough for other parents! My son first joined when he was only nine months old and it was really hard, as our first child, to return to work and place him in the care of strangers. I needn't have worried as, from the outset, all of the staff were so caring and compassionate and understanding. My child was always happy and I trusted the team in Caterpillars and enjoyed hearing all about what he had been up to whilst I was at work. The whole team in Caterpillars worked well together and I knew how happy he was going in with them. Throughout his time at the nursery, I always felt completely informed at all time of his development and how well he was doing. The team in Bumblebees when he left were fantastic - our last day was a sad one! Lastly, the management team and reception were amazing and lead by example. If you are considering your child for here - go for it! They are outstanding!
My daughter has enjoyed her two years at Sandfield Nursery so much. The staff are absolutely amazing and she had thrived there! It was sad for her to leave and start her preschool adventure.
I have had two children at Sandfield Nursery and both have been very happy there. They do a great range of activities and the facilities are excellent.
I am very happy with the whole service and care for my son.
An excellent nursery, at which our daughter spent two wonderful years. The quality of staff (who go above and beyond) and facilities is all top notch. Not cheap, but then also not out of the expensive mainstream. Would recommend; in fact, have recommended warmly to many.
My two kids have been there from age two and a half years, all the way up to four and it's been lovely. The staff are welcoming, the manager and secretary are super helpful with everything we need and the whole environment is very enriching. They do lots of learning and activities (we loved the Christmas shows that the kids performed in the local church).
Great team. My son loved going to Sandfield Day Care, he spent a few years there, learned a lot, made many friends. He is now confident and managing so well in his new school - he has been well prepared for his new journey by his lovely preschool team.
My eldest son started at the age of one and loved his time at this nursery. He is a very happy rounded boy, and very well prepared to go into school!
