Maples Day Nursery (Winchester)

I’m really happy with Maples Day Nursery (Winchester). The things that appealed to me initially were the practical points - long opening hours, close to the station. Now that we’re settled there, I’m very happy with the choice I made for my child. The staff are really caring and show genuine affection for the children. They are also great at teaching them the right values and encouraging their independence. There is a lot of outdoor play in the garden and my child loves the resident chickens and hamster. The staff are very approachable and happy to discuss any worries or concerns you may have. You get regular progress updates on the app. The staff also work really hard at raising money for charity. It’s a lovely atmosphere there.

Maples is an excellent nursery! Our oldest started here when he was 2 (moved from another nursery) and our youngest started in the babies room and is now in bumblebees (2-3) so we have experienced every age group room. We have found the staff to be consistently excellent across the nursery, very tuned in to our children’s needs and highly creative in the activities. The garden has been recently upgraded and is a lovely space. During the pandemic, Maples has been very supportive and careful in their practices so we always felt comfortable sending our child even during the second lockdown. Most importantly both our children loved and still love going to nursery and as parents, we really trust the staff and management.

Love this nursery! My son has been there since he was six months old and he is now almost three. I have no complaints at all. All the staff are lovely, they are so creative with all the activities they do. Great big garden with chickens. The food is fantastic! Everyone is professional and any questions I have are answered quickly. My son is always happy to go. Would highly recommend!

We couldn't recommend Maples highly enough! They have wonderfully supported us and our daughter through our journey from starting out in the new world of childcare (which can seem very daunting after maternity leave!) to her growing and learning as a toddler. Their staff are wonderful, and we trust each and every one of them to provide the same level of care and attention we give our child ourselves. Their range of activities are the type that we just couldn't organise at home! With loads of messy play, education at the right level, and importantly lots of cuddles and love when the children need it too. We feel Maples has been excellent in their handling of the Covid pandemic, with lots of stringent protocol and procedures to keep everyone safe, whilst not scaring the children. Thank you again to everyone at Maples, we are very grateful for everything you do for us and our daughter!

We have been using Maples for several years and have always been impressed with the level of care and the facilities on offer. My children love attending Maples and have wonderful relationships with the staff, several of whom have been there since they first joined. The team have worked so incredibly hard during the pandemic to ensure the environment is as safe as possible whilst giving the children a very normal experience. Thank you.

Our son loves kindi. It blows our minds on how quickly our son learns new skills and Maples provides him with all the opportunities we could wish for.

I feel so comfortable and trust my daughter's key worker and the staff in the Ladybirds room. They always keep us updated and I love getting photos of what she's been up to. They've been amazing with keeping us updated with any covid issues and I trust their protocol and honesty!

Even though my daughter is not yet fully talking we can understand the songs she is learning from the actions she does and she really loves it when we start singing along with her.

All our 3 sons have attended Maples (from 2012 to 2020) and we have been really happy with all aspects of their time there. The staff really get to know the individual children and the approach of all the staff members has been so kind and thoughtful throughout. The facilities, inside and out, are great and we've always been really impressed by how much time the children spend outside.

We are very happy with Maples. The education in this nursery is very good, my son always comes home with a new song or a rhyme. He is continuously given the chance for learning, exploring, experiencing through play. The activities are so amazing that my child never once was not interested in joining in - not to mention the staff who are highly qualified and are able to engage the children with different methods. They are raising the children attention to such details that give them a new way of thinking, new ways to try out toys or games. They are warm, kind and dedicated. They are very flexible for every wish just to reassure parents that their children are in good hands. My son loves to come to this nursery and always comes home with a smile on his face. He keeps asking me if he could come on Saturday too.

We are so incredibly grateful to the staff who have shown such brilliant care towards our sons - I would unequivocally, totally recommend the nursery to anyone who wanted their child to be looked after in an environment full of hard-working dedicated and, crucially, profoundly kind and caring individuals.

Our boys love going to Maples and run in every morning! The staff are extremely caring, nurturing and take the time to understand each child. Their communication is very good, particularly during recent COVID-19 restrictions, during which they have gone ‘above and beyond’ to ensure the wellbeing of the children and the smooth running of the nursery. We have always been impressed by the amount of space in each room and in the garden. We would highly recommend it.

She is learning so much in such a safe, wonderful, supportive environment and there isn’t a meal she hasn’t finished, so the food must be great too!

Maples Nursery has been one of the best parenting choices I have made. I am a first-time mum and new to the area and this nursery stood out from all of the rest. Communication was fantastic and my son who was only five months at the time he started settled in so well. As I am breastfeeding, the staff let me go in and visit to drop off milk and feed him and to call in whenever I wanted. They update the app with photos of him during the day so I could look whilst at work. We have just started weaning and the food is fantastic, I love that it is prepared on-site as I know my baby is getting the best nutrition from a fresh source. My son loves the caterpillar staff and is happy to go to them every single day, which really puts me at ease. The manager has been so fantastic with adapting what we need specifically to our family which is amazing, they have treated us like friends and not just as a business transaction. The facilities on-site are brilliant - I wouldn’t want my baby anywhere else.
