I always feel extremely comfortable leaving my children at Maples - my son is my second child to attend here. Staff are attentive, warm and caring with the children and facilities and resources are excellent.

Excellent nursery. The staff are friendly, caring, and it is clear that they really enjoy what they do.
My son always seems to enjoy his time there and I feel being at nursery has given him confidence and social skills.

I always feel confident dropping my daughter off knowing that she is going to have a good day. All the staff at Maples helped her settle in very well and I always have a happy little girl to pick up at the end of the day.


I like the food chat system and the way the staff help with the weaning process.

I was especially grateful when Maples ordered in special bottles and teats for my daughter as she would only take one particular brand.

My experience with Maples is fantastic, staff are very friendly but professional at the same time. My son absolutely loves going to nursery. Personally, I love the garden areas. When I'm picking him up, there's always a professional handover. I always know what he is doing, eating and what kind of activities
he's been involved in . I will recommend the nursery to friends and family.

My son has been attending since he was 18 months old. He has a food allergy and was a very nervous child. Understandably I was very concerned about him attending any nursery. The staff take his food issue extremely seriously and spent simply hours cuddling him when he first started to help him adjust.
He's flourished in the environment, now eats a really good range of goods, loves the staff - as do we - and has so much fun in the new(ish) garden. They have added staff to the office recently and so the administration side is working great now too.

My daughter has been at Maples since she was 10 months old and has always been very happy there. She particularly enjoys the preschool, which is excellent. Always so many activities organised and staff are always welcoming engaging and know the children well.

I would like to thank all the wonderful staff at the Maple Nursery in Winchester, for everything they have done for my daughter. All the staff have been absolutely fantastic. My daughter is such a happy little person. She loves hanging out with her friends and all the staff are like family. I am so
grateful for everything they have done and know full well that my daughter would not be the person she is today without their devoted, loving care and attention.

We are very pleased to have sent our boys to Maples Day Nursery. We have felt confident with the staff from the start. They settled in quickly and have now been there for 6 months and are excited to go. They appear to enjoy the food and the menu is nicely varied. The outside space is fantastic - particularly
the fort. Special mention and thanks must go to the boys key workers. They have been crucial in settling the boys and keeping them happy. They are always enthusiastic and happy. The boys love seeing them and they are a credit for the nursery.

My son has been attending Maples since September. He has thrived in Butterflies and I have to say the care and education he has received to date is exceptional. He loves going to nursery and loves all the activities they do. He always has a story to tell us everyday when we pick him up. He has always
been a very plain eater but since attending Maples he eats vegetables and tries food he would never eat at home for us. I can honestly say he has grown more confident as a person and the love and care he receives from the staff is exceptional.

My son now is in pre-school at Maples. He loves it and so do we. He is happy, being well fed and well cared for by the whole team. The room leader for pre-school is excellent. I cannot praise her highly enough for her commitment, enthusiasm and results. Thank you so much for taking such good care of

My daughter started at Maples when she was 11 months old, attended two different rooms so far and just about to move rooms again (she's just turning 2). She absolutely loves going to nursery and the rate of her development is just amazing since she started. She only does 2 days a week but it makes a
huge difference. The staff are very friendly, they do all sort of activities, they consider individual needs (my daughter's second language is Hungarian and her key person prepared a Hungarian booklet for her to practice both languages I was well impressed). It is such a relief that she loves going there in fact sometimes she's upset that she have to leave her friends and come home. The food is really good, they get 3 meals and snacks as well which is great help because I have to drop her off early and cannot pick her up till 5.30 after work. I can only recommend Maples.

My two children (aged 4 and 22 months) have an absolutely fantastic time at Maples, cared for by staff whom they are enormously fond of. The outside space is excellent and new pre-school facilities in particular are brilliant. My only gripe is the sickness policy which doesn't seem to take into account
teething-related symptoms, so we have had to collect teething children (demonstrating high temperature, for example) on a number of occasions when there was nothing else wrong with them. Would absolutely recommend Maples.

Alex is Manager at Maples Day Nursery in Winchester and has a wealth of experience, having worked in the early years sector for over 20 years and with an MA in advanced Practice Early Years. Alex joined Childbase Partnership in 2024 after being in a regional role for another large chain nursery company.


What is your favourite feature of Maples?
We are so lucky as a inner city nursery to have such a large and varied outdoor space with lots of exciting opportunities to explore lifecycles and growth in the natural world.


What are you most proud of about your nursery/team?
I'm most proud about the enthusiasm and professionalism shown by the staff team. Everyone has a drive towards providing the best possible experience for our families and goes above and beyond to extol the Childbase values.
