Maples Day Nursery (Winchester)

Our daughter started at Maples in January when she was a year old. It was a difficult transition for us all and we were the typical nervous first time parents. The staff really helped our little one settle in, and though there were some slight teething and technical issues at the beginning, made sure we were kept up to date and most importantly gave our little girl the cuddles and attention she needed. She is now thriving, and happily potters off in the morning to see her friends and the lovely staff. It’s great knowing she gets a healthy, balanced diet and plenty of opportunity to play outside, which she loves. It’s wonderful hearing how she is getting on, and she is learning so much while she is there. We were recommended Maples by multiple friends, and now recommend it ourselves.

Our daughter started in the caterpillar room in February and she has settled in so well. She is excited to arrive in the morning and very pleased so see all the staff. The communication has been great and it’s lovely to see all the different things she gets up to during the day.

The staff at Maples are friendly and always look at the individual needs of my little boy, ensuring the environment is catered to his interests and they clearly represent this through their detailed observations. Handovers are detailed and the meals are outstanding!

I could not be happier with the love, attention and care that Maples give my little boy. His key person is always there to greet him when he arrives so he almost never gets upset going in and he has the best day ever whilst he's there - I can tell, because he never wants to leave! I have to chase him around the room to try to get him out of there at the end of the day. He has been at Maples since 7 months old and is now almost 2 and we absolutely love the staff. They are always so caring and lovely - they go out of their way to make sure that we feel supported at Maples. The food always sounds (and smells) great and is very varied and the admin staff and managers are also very good and communicative. Overall, we are so pleased we joined the Maples family!

My 15-month-old twins started at Maples in September and have settled in really well, which is testament to the quality of care they receive. We couldn't be happier with our decision to join the Maples community.

Maples is a really lovely nursery! Our eldest son has been going for a few years and recently our 2nd has started and they have just been so kind, friendly and supportive. The facilities and garden are really modern and they have recently had a new playground installed which looks amazing! Staff are really supportive and very good at responding to calls/emails so you always feel informed and confident your child is being well looked after!

The caterpillar team (baby room) have been fantastic in helping our little girl settle in (and settling our nerves!). It's clear she is having plenty of fun, learning and being very well looked after. It's a great friendly team throughout the nursery.

The staff at Maples are always incredibly positive and it feels like everyone knows the children very well. It is also lovely to see so many of the same staff at the nursery as when my son attended a good few years ago.

My one-year-old son has recently started at Maples Nursery and my husband and I have been so impressed with how professional, warm and knowledgeable the nursery staff are. The team in caterpillars room are all incredible and provide regular updates on our son's day, both via the app and also in person when dropping off and picking him up. The level of care is excellent and has meant that our son is really enjoying being at nursery. As first-time parents, our experience with Maples has really set our minds at ease and we know that this is the best place for our baby.

My daughter started at Maples Day Nursery (Winchester) when she was 11 months old. She's been going there for 9 months now and absolutely loves it. They do loads of activities with the children, lots of learning and messy play and outdoor activities. The food is brilliant and really varied, my daughter usually eats everything there even though she is fussy at home. They have regular activities for the parents to engage with and the staff are all lovely and welcoming. We have been really pleased with all aspects of it and are so happy with our choice.

Maples Day Nursery (Winchester) is an absolutely fantastic place to send your children. We have two boys (1 and 4) there and they love it! The staff are fantastic, they are so caring and they really keep track of how your child is doing. They spend so much time outdoors, doing brilliant activities. The food is really good and balanced. I highly recommend it!

The staff have been so caring throughout my daughter’s journey (from Ladybirds to Preschool), taking an interest in her interests, and building learning opportunities around them. The parent communication portal is used effectively, emails are answered promptly, and staff provide a comprehensive handover upon collection. During Covid, effective safeguarding arrangements were in place for nursery staff to call home and check in with the children. Behaviour is managed positively, sensitively, and through a restorative approach. I have witnessed a number of staff managing incidents of behaviour with patience and consistence. The staff go the extra mile - caring for chickens, organising wonderful events (the Jubilee picnic and Halloween events were fantastic), running zoom coffee mornings and following the interests of the children. Thorough monitoring and reporting of children's progress ensures parents are kept up to date with learning goals and targets.

Superb experience for the last 2 years for both our children in various classes. Caring, positive, communicative and most of all, fun. Our children love their time at Maples Day Nursery with the staff, come rain or shine. When our youngest has experienced high temperatures the staff have always shown professionalism, excellent care and communicated at the appropriate times. Thank you.

I would highly recommend to any parent!

I would highly recommend Maples Day Nursery. My 2 grandchildren have been attending for the last couple of months and, thanks to the fabulous efforts of the staff, have settled in really well. The children love going to nursery and have great fun while learning - and their developmental progress is notable. The facilities and environment further support learning opportunities with ample outdoor space and even some chickens! Alongside fun learning opportunities, they are also very charitably motivated as evidenced by recent Guy Fawkes celebrations. Overall a highly recommended nursery thanks to strong leadership, enthusiastic and caring staff and a fantastic learning environment.

My son is happy to go over to whoever greets us in the morning and is always smiling and happy when I pick him up, giving me peace of mind that he’s thoroughly enjoying himself all day! He also loves the food at nursery as I often get informed that he’s had seconds! Thank you Maples for all that you do for my son, I’m so pleased we picked your nursery and would recommend you to anyone without hesitation.

We really like Maples. Our son has been going for nearly 3 years and our daughter started this year. She was a lockdown baby so we were concerned about how she would find mixing with others, but thanks to the incredibly friendly staff, she is thriving. They send lots of photos and updates so we can see how she is getting on. They seem to genuinely care for the children, and my daughter loves it there.
