Maples Day Nursery (Winchester)

We have recently joined Maples and are so happy with our choice. The Caterpillar room is fantastic, and the staff care so much for the well-being and development of our little one. The general staff are so friendly and helpful.

We couldn't be happier and would thoroughly recommend Maples!

They've also been amazing at reassuring us, sending us picture updates showing us how happy he's been. In fact, getting updates about what he's up to are some of the highlights of my working day!

Our little one has consistently loved going into maples and her key workers have always looked after her well. She has especially loved pre-school and her key worker has always been there for her. A great service thank you.

We can't thank you enough for the exceptional care you provide. It means so much to us!

We have been really encouraged by how dedicated Maples have been in supporting our son. I really feel he has been gently nurtured to feel comfortable and secure in his relationships with his key worker and other members of the team and this is developing to help him form friendships and feel confident in accessing the many well-planned activities. They really know him and encourage him to use his favourite area of the garden very often! An enormous thank you from us!

The staff are amazing at Maples, and it is our daughter's favourite days of the week! She is learning so much every week, including Makaton. She especially loves going to the outside spaces to play.

Both our sons are in Maples part time in both the Ladybird room and the preschool, they couldn't be happier! Food cooked on site that's healthy, friendly knowledgeable and caring staff. The rooms and outdoor spaces are hard to beat locally. Our boys settled very easily thereafter we relocated to Winchester. Highly recommend.

Spacious rooms, great outdoor space, chickens! What more could you want.

My son started Maples in October and I found the settling-in sessions really helpful. We had a chance to take our time and get used to the new routine and environment. All staff have been really supportive and caring. My son really enjoys spending time at Maples and this is a real testament to the fantastic team at Caterpillars.

I have two sons in the nursery, with my youngest son starting in the Caterpillar room in September 2023. Since he joined, the team have worked their hardest to ensure that he has settled well into the nursery setting. As a result, he has built strong relationships with those in the room and is happy to go to nursery. It is extremely reassuring to know that your child is being looked after by people who genuinely enjoy their job and working with children. Seeing them get just as excited as me when my child reaches a milestone or hearing them excitedly tell you about the excellent day they have had certainly confirms that he is in the right place. It is wonderful to see the strong relationships my son has with them, which is down to their hard work, kindness, and commitment to their roles. For that, I am extremely grateful.

“Thank you”, that goes to out to everyone in the team both past and present who have been a huge part of my daughter's journey at Maples. From the day she started in Ladybirds, to her last day in Preschool, everyone has welcomed her into what is not only their work day but their hearts. The team at Maples is truly exceptional and every one of you should be proud of the amazing little girl you have all created on our behalf. As a lot of you are aware, she has no idea she is not returning when she leaves on Thursday and that the goodbye that she gives is not the goodbye she wants. As she wakes up Friday morning not knowing why she has no Preschool today. A long weekend?? then Preschool maybe. But instead, she leaves on to her next journey to make her new friends and continue to touch the hearts of her caregivers as she has touched yours. It will be sad for us to hear “the door is open” as it closes behind us one last time. So again from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Best wishes.

The premises are well appointed, the staff work so hard and communication is clear and effective.

The staff at Maples Day Nursery are great! Especially the team in the ladybirds room making such an incredible effort to help my daughter settle in and become more comfortable in a new setting. Forever thankful for the effort they make to ensure she enjoys her day and is well-fed and making lots of new friends!

The pre-school room at Maples is a large but incredibly nurturing environment, where the staff provide such understanding and care to all those who attend. The food is also thought through and healthy whilst being attractive to young kids. The admin is also organised and there is always someone to contact. We couldn't have wished for a better start.

I have two children at Maples Day Nursery - one in preschool and one in Caterpillars. They are both thriving in the nurturing, supportive environment. The staff got the extra mile and it is really appreciated - thank you.

Our overall experience has been excellent. Staff is really good and we couldn't be happier with them and how they treat our children. The curriculum is very child-focused and is particularly strong on values. Over the years, our children's key people have been phenomenal - you can see they really live and breathe their jobs. We always liked that the nursery has a very big outside area and the children spend quite a lot of time there. They seem to have a very good grasp of the developmental needs of children and communication with parents, either through the app or by conversations at pick-up and drop-off, is really informative. We couldn't be happier.

Our daughter started at Maples in January when she was a year old. It was a difficult transition for us all and we were the typical nervous first time parents. The staff really helped our little one settle in, and though there were some slight teething and technical issues at the beginning, made sure we were kept up to date and most importantly gave our little girl the cuddles and attention she needed. She is now thriving, and happily potters off in the morning to see her friends and the lovely staff. It’s great knowing she gets a healthy, balanced diet and plenty of opportunity to play outside, which she loves. It’s wonderful hearing how she is getting on, and she is learning so much while she is there. We were recommended Maples by multiple friends, and now recommend it ourselves.
