Overall Experience

I had two daughters attend this nursery - one before and one after it became Kindred Church House. Before it became Kindred Church House, it felt warm and nurturing, with friendly staff we knew, and it was a lovely space. After the change, the atmosphere shifted: the space became overcrowded and chaotic

as the number of children doubled, staff seemed overwhelmed, and cleanliness declined. Drop-offs and pick ups lost their personal touch with nobody at the door which also felt less secure, and I saw staff being snappy with children. There were always new staff but no introductions so we didn't know who anybody was and often my daughter didn't know them either. I raised concerns about unhealthy breakfast options, but the manager was unreceptive and defensive. That said, my daughter's key workers, Devon and Purdy, were excellent - caring and communicative. Ultimately, we withdrew our younger daughter early and moved her to a school preschool.

I cannot praise Kindred Boxmoor enough. My little boy loves it! All the staff are so friendly and approachable even towards siblings who do not attend. It really has an amazing personable family feel to it. So pleased we chose it and excited to see it though to pre school!

Overall Experience

I have removed my daughter from this nursery due to the poor standard of care and lack of effective management. What was once an Outstanding setting has deteriorated rapidly, hygiene is poor, the environment feels unclean, and the nursery now relies heavily on agency staff with little continuity for

the children.
Most of the experienced team have left, and leadership appears disorganised and dismissive of parental concerns. Safeguarding and basic welfare standards have slipped, and communication is consistently poor.
It's deeply concerning that such a previously high-quality nursery has declined to this extent. I would not recommend Kindred Royston Church House Nursery until serious improvements are made in management, hygiene, and staffing stability

Overall Experience

Kindred has been an amazing nursery for our daughter. She is thriving there, all the staff are so wonderful and all contributing to her development. To see how far she has come is amazing.
She comes away telling us about her day, new stories or songs. They do so many activities and keep them busy all

day. She recently moved to her new room, they made the adjustment so easy for her. She misses her old room, but still gets her warm hellos from previous corers. Kindred really was the best decision for us, we are so happy we found you. Our daughter loves her nursery days, and her nursery family.

I cannot fault Kindred Hemel. From my son's very first day, the staff and management have been absolutely fantastic. Everyone is so compassionate and considerate, and genuinely cares about the little ones.
I was apprehensive when my son started, but seeing him fall in love with nursery helped immensely.

He was very poorly when he started, and the team were incredible with their support and care, and they even got the class together to send a "get well soon" message! It's wonderful to watch him thrive, and I feel that Kindred is not just occupying him for the day, but really helping him learn and develop too. The food is brilliant, especially when it comes to allergies (it's a completely nut and grape free setting) and he'll try new and interesting things that he wouldn't dream of eating at home.

I'm so glad we picked Kindred Hemel for our son! Massive shout out to Amanda, Jade, Phoebe, Chloe, Janine and Rebecca for their unending support.

I'm getting emotional just writing this My little boy started nursery in January 2025, and I was so nervous at first. The thought of leaving him somewhere new was overwhelming - but from the very beginning, Kindred made everything feel so easy. The warmth, care, and reassurance they gave me truly put

my heart at ease.
What made the biggest difference was seeing how happy my little man was every single day. Watching him walk in with a smile, excited and confident, turned what could have been a scary transition into the most beautiful journey for both of us.
Kindred isn't just a nursery - it's one big, loving family. The love, joy, and genuine care that fill those rooms are beyond anything I could have hoped for. It's a place where children take their first steps into the world with freedom, support, and so much happiness.

Our child has been attending the nursery since April 2025 and we are consistently impressed and really happy with the nursery. My daughter moved rooms and went into preschool. The nursery were really considerate of the changes for her and done a phased introduction into the room with the older children, had preschool staff work in the younger room occasionally so rapports could be built before the move. Worked really well and

she settled into the class really quickly.
The staff can't do enough for you. Always ask how you are and check in with you when they see you. Such a relaxed atmosphere it makes me feel secure in the knowledge that my daughter is safe and in a happy environment

It's been Louie's first couple of weeks at the nursery, we couldn't have asked for a better welcome. All the staff have been so good with myself, my partner and my son. He never wants to leave as he has so much fun! The updates on the app are great to.

Kindred completely changed my outlook on nurseries, being able to provide love, care, professionalism, communication, great activities, great food and an environment that makes my child always wanting to come in. Staff make you feel like your child is number one and its amazing to hear that every parent

feels the same way, it's impressive to have that level of passion and dedication. My child has developed into an independent toddler whilst still getting the cuddles or nurture when needed, and it never feels like an inconvenience. I sing their praises to everyone and will continue to do so because they are just that good.

Overall Experience

Having had two children at The Orchards/Church House, it's been very disappointing to see the decline in care. The Orchards was once outstanding (see below reviews)- caring staff, creative activities, and strong communication - but since the changeover in 2024 it feels very different.

Over the past

year there has been constant staff turnover at all levels, leaving little continuity of care. Capacity has doubled but quality hasn't kept up: more incidents (especially biting), minimal updates at pickup or via the app, and no creative activities, outings, or artwork coming home. Despite raising concerns, nothing has improved. The new manager is unhelpful, often making mistakes and making room moves and key worker changes due to numbers rather than children's wellbeing.

After three years I hardly know the staff anymore, and my children no longer seemed to benefit from their time here. Sadly, we've since moved our youngest to another setting, which has managed to maintain the high standar

I moved my son's nursery to here because we moved out of London. So he started his journey here in preschool. My son was met with such love , warmth and enthusiasm from the staff. They took time to get to know us as a family and know my son's personality and likes. They have made a super effort to make

sure my son has settled in and made a group of new friends. They always provided us reassurance as parents and sent little updates in the early days. It is a busier nursery and the number of kids in preschool is a lot, even for me it's overwhelming, however it will prepare my son for school next year. They have made sure he maintains the confidence and independence he had from the previous nursery and he has flourished here. I enjoy the structure and learning they do with the kids. You can see how the children have a great attachment to the nursery staff and the lovely humbling special bonds they hold.
I would love to have more of a weekly blog and photos of their activities on the app

Overall Experience

As first-time parents, we visited lots of nurseries and thought we had found "the one"-until we discovered Kindred Hemel Hempstead. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the outdoor space was miles ahead of anything else we'd seen.
Our little boy took

a while to settle in, often crying at drop-off and collection. The staff quickly got to know him and realised how much he loves being outdoors. On tougher days, they made sure he spent extra time in the garden, which made such a difference. Shortly after starting, he had to have an operation, and we were so touched to receive a photo of his class holding a "get well soon" banner. It showed just how much they care.
Now, he happily walks into nursery-sometimes without even saying goodbye! In fact, we often face tantrums in the car park because he doesn't want to leave. The whole place has such a family feel, and it's so reassuring to know he's spending his day surrounded by love, cuddles, and care.

Overall Experience

Kindred Hemel Hempstead has been the best decision for my little girl. They are warm and welcoming from the get-go and treat the children with such kindness and respect.
My little girl is so happy in their care and I have nothing but good things to say about them. I love how I can check the app to

see what she's having at meal time (always very nutritious) and they keep you updated with naps etc.
They provide them with fun activities to do and have a lovely outdoor area that my little girl thoroughly enjoys.

Thanks to everyone at Kindred for working so hard to care for our little one's.
