East Barnet Day Nursery and Preschool is located in a charming character building near Oak Hill Park, offering care and early education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The nursery team is qualified, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting every child’s development. With opening hours from 7:30am to 6:30pm and an onsite buggy park, the nursery is ideal for busy families. It’s conveniently situated near Arnos Grove and Southgate stations, and close to Monkfrith Primary School.

Bright Horizons’ Nurture Approach underpins the nursery’s ethos, creating a safe and supportive space for children to grow. The Bright Beginnings Curriculum blends hands-on learning with emotional wellbeing, confidence, and curiosity - preparing children for school and beyond.
The baby room (3 to 18 months) offers sensory resources, a milk kitchen, and a separate sleep area. Toddlers (18 months to 2 years 6 months) enjoy a bright space with reading corners and low-level activities. Rising toddlers (2 years 6 months to 3 years 6 months) are encouraged to explore independence through interest-led play and toilet training support.

Preschoolers benefit from the Ready for School programme, led by a qualified teacher, focusing on early maths, reading, and writing skills.

Our family has had the pleasure to have our child at East Barnet for just over the past two years. In that time, he has spent time in almost all of the age rooms. He has had close connections with all of the staff (not just his own room or with his key workers) and made many close friends with his peers.
Many of his peers have remained with him for over 2 years. He has fun every day as he learns, especially enjoying time in the garden, sports lessons, French singing, cooking and dancing. He asks to go to nursery and chats at home about his day there. We are leaving the area so have to say goodbye which is incredibly sad as we would love to take East Barnet with us and have our second child start soon too!

My overall experience with this nursery is excellent. The key persons are really patient and takes lovely care of your child. The management are well-trained to take care of each and everything that a parent and the child needs. The key person for my little one has been very very patient and really

My daughter has been at the nursery for 18 months and absolutely loves it. Her development during this time has been incredible and I can’t thank the staff enough for the excellent support she has received during what has been a very difficult year for our family.


All of the staff take time to get

to know your child and are always on hand to let you know what they have been doing. I know that my daughter is in safe hands when I take her to nursery and she is very happy there.

My son loves coming to Jungles and can't wait to get stuck in and be independent. He always comes home grubby, happy and full of stories of the things he's done. He loves his key person here and talks a lot about what he had done with her and the other people in his room.

My son has been at the nursery for nearly two and a half years now. We are very happy with the care he has received. All the staff are extremely friendly and he has settled in well. He has always formed strong bonds with his key workers, which has been very reassuring. The nursery has been very supportive

I love the friendly atmosphere of the nursery and how each colleague is so warm and welcoming to myself, partner and son. My boy has learnt so much already from attending Bright Horizons and loves going to nursery. I think it's more down to the staff that he loves it so much.

The staff here are amazing. They are all so caring and warm. My two-year-old son settled really well at Bright Horizons East Barnet, and I believe that's in large part due to the welcoming environment they work hard to foster here. Job Title: Nursery Manager

Gemma, the Nursery Manager, has been working in Early Years Education for twelve years. She first obtained a Level 3 qualification in childcare before advancing to university, where she earned a degree in Education Studies.


Her passion lies in providing the best possible outcomes for the next generation. She finds great fulfilment in helping children develop through their learning journeys and supporting them in their next steps. Gemma joined Bright Horizons at the beginning of 2017 as a Room Leader and progressed through various managerial roles before being promoted to Nursery Manager.


She looks forward to welcoming families to the nursery and supporting them throughout their experience.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Charlene is the Deputy Manager at Bright Horizons East Barnet. She began her journey with the company as a housekeeper, and it wasn’t long before she discovered a true passion for early years education. After completing her Level 3 qualification in childcare, Charlene quickly progressed to a Third in Charge role and soon after was promoted to Deputy Manager.


She is incredibly proud of how far she has come and is deeply committed to providing the best possible start for every child in the setting. Charlene is passionate about creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children can thrive and develop a lifelong love of learning. She also takes great pride in supporting families and leading a dedicated team to deliver high-quality care and education.
