My son loves his time in the nursery. They are busy every day and you can tell the staff are all loved by the children they look after. When collecting my son they always tell me what they've been up to that day and if they have noticed anything different, it is really comforting to know how observant
they are.

This is a great nursery. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Purpose built nursery building. Clean facilities. The garden space seems small but the staff are taking the children out to the woods regularly, and make use of the big grassland area nearby which is great.

Excellent staff that really look out for the children's needs and development. The chef caters well to my son who has a cow's milk allergy. Excellent facilities. Highly recommended nursery.

The manager and the staff at the nursery are just the best. They will move heaven and earth to make sure they are doing the very best for you.
My son has come on leaps and bounds since attending the nursery and never fails to amaze me with tales of what he’s been up to that day.
The menu is fantastic
and I’m pretty sure he eats better than me some days!
The staff listen to my views and will take on board any feedback, they will also work with you to make sure his routine or discipline methods are maintained.
I will be rather sad when my sons time comes to an end here.

I visited four other nurseries before choosing Busy Bees at Castle View including another branch of Busy Bees. As soon as I walked in and met the staff and saw how they interacted with him I felt so at ease. The gardens are lovely I especially like the use of recycled and natural materials. My son has
a food allergy and they are super careful to make sure nothing can come in contact with him that would cause a reaction. I love that I get an end of day report so I know exactly when and what he has eaten when he has a nap for and how long as well as a general rundown of what he has been up to while I've been working. My religion is not well known and the staff have asked for info on it and tried to incorporate some learning about it when appropriate. The peace of mind I have knowing he is so well looked after is absolutely priceless and certainly helps with the feelings of guilt I have over having to leave him!

I have been very impressed with the standard of care at Busy Bees at Castle View. My little boy settled in well which was a big relief as a mother returning to work.

For shift workers, it would be extremely helpful if there was some flexibility around days.

I would recommend this nursery to

friends and family.

My older son has been in this nursery for 2 and a half years and my younger one has just started. We really love it. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and really care about the children. The building is nice, light and airy and there is lots of outdoor space. The children are outside a lot which
we really value. Can't recommend it highly enough.

My son has attended the nursery for 3 years and my little girl just started this year too. The staff are all so friendly and make an effort to get to know all the children by name from all the various rooms, even if they are not directly involved with them. We are always given a warm welcome when we
arrive, which puts the children at ease and the parents too. The children really enjoy all the activities that take place each day. The nursery makes a real effort to ensure the children are able to be involved in various activities on a daily basis that are based around learning and having fun at the same time. The effort that is put into activities outwith nursery time is impressive too. For example nursery Fayer’s, Christmas parties, pantomime etc. When your child is ready to move rooms, they have a great transition period to allow your child’s move to be as smooth as possible. My children feel safe and well looked after when at nursery and look forward to going.

I am very pleased with this nursery as I see my child come home with a smile and is excited to go back the next day. Staff are very caring and friendly and treat them with love and affection. My wee one loves his carer so much that whenever he sees her, he goes and gives her a hug. Obviously this is
possible only when they show the same amount love and affection to the child. All the staff are very helpful and always cheerful. I am very pleased with the amount of activities they do along with the children and the space they have for the children to play. I would surely recommend this nursery to anyone looking for one.

I have really pleased and impressed with Busy Bees, particularly with -
- The care and attention given to my child and ourselves during a difficult settling in period.
- The range and variety of activities that the children are engaged in, even from baby stage (e.g. messy play, cooking and baking,
crafts).
- The time and effort spent working on and recording learning goals in a fun and gentle way (even from a young age and with our child who is only at nursery 2 days a week).
- The amount of time that children spend outdoors in the garden (and also participate in local walks).
- The variety offered in the menu (which my daughter seems to love) and I like that they enjoy sweet things as part of a balanced diet (menu seems to balance health and nutrition, taste and treats well).
- Willingness to engage with and involve parents - from good daily 'handovers' to parents evenings and special events

I have reviewed this nursery as excellent all round. My oldest who is now in school started here just before he was 2 and my youngest at 5 months. I have experienced nothing but excellent care and dedication from the staff here and my oldest came on leaps and bounds and was very well prepared for starting
school. I intend to have my youngest also see out his full preschool experience here. Such a relaxed friendly nursery.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.526)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.526) out of 10 for Busy Bees Castle View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.976 for Busy Bees Castle View is calculated as follows: ( (164 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 168 Ratings = 4.976
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.55 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Busy Bees Castle View is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 number of registered child places is 20. 14 Positive Reviews ÷ 20 = 0.7
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
